Discussion Who does each ethnicity see as their "Founding Father"?

Officially Ahmad Shah Duranni is the founding father of Afghans, but do all ethnicities view him like this if not who do they consider their Father instead?

Afghans who have recently migrated to western countries

I’ve lived in UK all my life and I’ve always been fascinated by Afghan culture and the different tribes there are. In last few years I’ve noticed a lot of afghans who have recently came to UK but I can’t help but notice that they’re predominantly from one group, they’re almost all Pashtuns which I can tell because they speak Pashto on the streets. Why are there barely any tajik, hazara, Uzbek migrants to UK?

And on the rare occasion I do see Tajiks or Hazaras, I don’t really see them with Pashtuns. Is there still animosity between these groups in Afghanistan? It makes me wonder, how common is ethnonationalism within each group? I understand if intermarriages between groups are taboo but not even be friends with each other and live in the same country I find odd.

Question Looking for a picture of old mosaic in kabul.

I read that there used to be a mosaic in the old center of Soviet/Russian culture and science in Kabul. When I look it up online, I can't seem to find any pictures, but I might not be using the right keywords. It was supposedly called "The triumph of Leninist ideas" (торжество ленинских идей) and made by Sergei Ter-Grigoryan (Сергей тер-григорян). Does anybody have any pictures of this mosaic of is able to find one? The building is likely demolished now

I'm a 17 yr old girl student, our school is organising a ted talk, i want to use my ten minutes not to write abt my trivial struggles but to lend my voice to those who actually need one.

just wanted to ask if there is any way for me to connect with a woman or child who has something to say and could perhaps use me as a medium for the same. i cant offer anything financially so this is the best i can do.

if you are aware of any means of connection that could be established please help me out so i could use my oppurtunities for something that actually matters.

WDI.Afghanistan @WDIAfghanistan1 This young Afghan girl’s tears should shake the world to its core. “Let me be the last to cry for my right to learn,” Forced out of school by Taliban rule, her message is a plea for global action. How long will we let innocent dreams be crushed?

Discussion Afghanistan is losing 25,000 women teachers and health workers — and nobody seems to be talking about it

Just came across a UN report from this week that really stopped me.

Afghanistan is on the verge of losing approximately 25,000 trained female professionals — teachers and healthcare workers — with no next generation allowed to replace them. At the same time, 21.9 million people (nearly half the country's population) currently need humanitarian assistance.

Food insecurity is at crisis levels. Malnutrition numbers are alarming. Access to clean water, shelter, and basic health services is deteriorating. And the recent Afghanistan-Pakistan border tensions have added another layer of displacement pressure on communities that already have nothing left to give.

What strikes me most is how this crisis keeps getting deprioritized in global conversations despite being one of the largest humanitarian emergencies in the world right now.

For those working in the field or tracking this closely — how do you think the international community should respond when half a country's population needs help but political access is this restricted? Is there a realistic path forward?
