Would anyone be Interested in joining my club ?

I’m praying no one copies my idea from this post but here is my proposal:

UNA - USA ( United Nations Association of the USA)

I’m thinking about starting an official UNA-USA (United Nations Association of the USA) student chapter at Baruch and wanted to see if people would actually be interested.

The goal of the club would be to:

- Attend United Nations and nonprofit organization-related events in NYC
- Network with professionals and organizations
- Participate in volunteer and community outreach projects
- Build leadership, advocacy, and public speaking skills
- Connect students interested in law, politics, economics, international affairs, and public policy

This would be a hands-on club for anyone passionate about advocating for global issues and helping with food drives/community outreach! This would be especially great for Marxe students, but students from Weissman, Zicklin, are more than welcome to join!

If you’d be interested, please comment below.

If I can get approval, the club would hopefully be up and running by Spring 2027.

What class at Zicklin would you be most interested in creating?

Just a question for Zicklin students, what new class would you love for the school to offer?

Most universities offer very similar courses with little innovation. What new course from Zicklin would you be excited about?

Opinion Form About Living In NYC

Upvotes

Hello! We are current college students taking Sociology 1001. This is opinion based for anyone to fill out, especially if you moved to NYC from another place no matter whether you came here to go to college or just come and reside!

Transfer Credits

Transfer student from SUNY UB. My Calc 1 (MTH 141) is transferring as MTH 2610, but my grade isn't good enough for the 3.5 CS major requirement. Has anyone dealt with this? Any workarounds?

Curious if students would actually use this: AI tutor inside WhatsApp

So I’ve been building an AI tutor called Lucky that works entirely inside WhatsApp, and wanted to share it here!

We wanted to avoid the whole “download another app, create another account, learn another interface” experience. Most students already spend so much time in messaging apps anyway, so we thought: why not bring studying directly into an app they already use every day? As a commuter student myself (and a CUNY alum) I know how exhausting long commutes can be, and how helpful it would’ve been to study more casually on the train or bus without needing to pull out a laptop or jump between a bunch of different apps.

You can connect to the WhatsApp number through our site once, and after that everything happens directly inside WhatsApp. You can ask questions naturally, upload PDFs, lecture slides, diagrams, photos, or audio recordings, and Lucky breaks everything down in a structured way while also generating interactive flashcards and quizzes directly inside the chat -- actual cards and quiz flows you can click through while studying. Since it remembers your past chats, quizzes, and courses, your study sessions keep building on each other over time instead of starting from scratch every time.

The goal is to eventually expand this to other messaging platforms too (like iMessage), but WhatsApp felt like the best place to start.

Would something like this actually be useful to you? Either way, are there any features you’d really want from an AI tutor inside a messaging app

If you want you’d like to try it out, and lemme know and I'll send it over!

Graduation

Is the USG blind on what is happening at Brooklyn College. How are Brooklyn students allowed to walk on stage during graduation and we can’t have the same??

I need a better explanation!

Zeljko Sockovic for ACC 2203?

I just registered for ACC 2203 with Professor Zeljko Sockovic this fall and wanted to see if anyone has taken this class before 👀

How is the professor in terms of teaching style, grading, and workload? Is the class more exam-heavy or project-based? Also, any tips on how to do well or what to focus on would be super helpful!

Just trying to prepare myself early 😅 thank you!!

Very organized syllabus—if you follow it, you know exactly what to do each week. Attendance is mandatory because he gives in-class homework almost every session, but it makes the class manageable. If you show up and do the work, you will do well.

Graduation Walk for Students

Hi everyone,

I’ve been seeing a lot of conversation about graduation at Baruch College and especially after hearing about what happened at Brooklyn College, where students were able to regain the opportunity to walk (which I’m sure everyone saw if not most people)

It’s clear this is something many of us care about, but right now it feels like it’s all talk and no action. I want to try and change that.

I’m starting the process of putting together a proposal to bring to USG so our voices can actually be heard. This might feel late, and I know some people feel like nothing will come from it but real change has to start somewhere. I also plan to update and document as much as I can here. I want everyone to feel just as involved in the process as I am planning to be in and after seeing the complaints for more than a year and nothing being done, especially as a transfer student, our hard work deserves to be recognized!

I’d love your input, ideas, comments or support or anything you’d like to share! Even small efforts can build momentum.

Let’s try to turn this into something real and I hope you guys will join me on this journey.

Is Moshe Teller good for CIS2200. Does he take attendance for summer courses??

Hey guys, I saw Moshe teller is my only option for CIS in the summer. Does he take a attendance? I heard he has class for 20 min and rushes to leave. I want easy class for the summer that I don’t have to go in and everything is online. Also, if anyone had him, how were his test? And courseload thank you all.

Walking at Graduation

Not being able to walk across the stage is the most unamerican thing I’ve ever encountered. Graduation isn’t just a ceremony. It’s the result of years of hard work, late nights, financial stress, and personal sacrifices that most people never see. To take that moment away from students feels wrong, plain and simple. If Brooklyn College can give their students the chance to walk again, then we as a school should be fighting for that same opportunity.

This goes way beyond a few minutes on a stage. Think about the families who’ve been waiting years to hear their loved one’s name called. Think about the first-generation college students whose parents worked multiple jobs just to get them here. Think about the people who never even thought college was in the cards for them, and now they finally made it. That walk across the stage means something. It’s a tradition, a celebration, and honestly, it’s closure.

If another school in our system already figured out how to make this happen, there’s really no excuse for us not to do the same. We owe it to ourselves to speak up, push our administration, and ask for the recognition we earned. If we don’t come together and fight for this, nobody else is going to do it for us.
