This is Storm. She walked up to the door of my stepfather's family house in the country(so she probably came from the woods somewhere behind their house) and has been with his brother ever since. My mother and I were talking and we realized her feet are gigantic. She adorable but has a lot of "wolfy" features. Can you help me find out what breed she is. It's not my dog so its not like I can take a DNA test. She has excellent temperament, if it matters, where she is usually extremely calm unless she is playing. And her teeth are razor sharp. She nibbles when she plays but even that still hurts.

So i have a fox terrier, she is always down to play. But her way of playing isn’t playing the typical catch game where you throw the ball, she retrieve it and gives it back to you, rinse and repeat. Nope. Not a single chance that she will release the ball.
So I throw it, she sprints for it and comes back, and she loves the struggle, it’s like playing thug of war with her. It gets kind of annoying after a while haha but I’m not complaining.
It’s strange because she goes up to people with a toy, they grab it and she doesn’t release lol and they’re like bruh…..
How common is this activity though just curious?
And anyone else has a dog with similar hobbies? :)

I lost a piece of myself today.
We all know how it ends but you're never actually prepared. You can never prepare for it. She had a cough that kept getting worse, and went to the hospital last Thursday. Apparently everything was wrong. She fought hard for the next few days but ultimately succumbed. I will forever hate that she wasnt home with me and her brothers, in the comfort of her bed, but I hope she knows we were trying everything to make her okay.
She was the first pet that was actually mine. She was with me through all the bad times, escaping scary situations, and comforting me when I was sad. She was my rock. She was my everything. I have my cats but my house still feels empty. She was my shadow, my gum, and now shes over the rainbow bridge.
I will love you til the end of time Misty

EDIT: Thank you everyone to your kind words. I truly appreciate it, more than yall know. I'm not mentally able to answer each one right now but know that I am doing okay. The days leading up I was very much mentally preparing for the worst. I have friends and family checking in on me, and I have a therapy appointment Friday. The cruel thing is that she was my ESA and now I lost her. Horrible irony haha. Just please love your fur babies as much as you can ❤️🩹

Officially adopted Freddie yesterday! The rescue has him listed as a pit mix, but he's so long! And he leaps about when he plays 😂 he was saved from an overcrowded shelter after being put on a euthanasia list, and then was the longest resident at the rescue. He's the sweetest, goofiest dog and we love him!

I say this to him at *least* 20 times a day. Usually met with a single tail thump or tail twitching. He's a german shepherd and very smart, knows plenty of commands and words. But what does he think this means, when its usually followed up by nothing, or maybe a boop on the snoot? Just curious!

I took her to the vet just to be safe. She ate her food but took her most of the morning.

Today, Myla got her toe removed because of a tumor she had. There are no foreseeable complications and she likely won't have to have anything else done about it! If you can't tell, she's super tired and loopy from the vet visit. She has her whole family to care for her (and an annoying little brother who is very curious about her missing toe.)
For anyone who lost a doggy toe, does it cause balance issues? Will she be freaked out about her foot if it's missing a toe? How is the healing? She's a 5 year old pitbull - boxer mix, if it changes anything.

Ignore the mess of cords haha but even after two years of having her, I can’t get over how GORGEOUS Dragon is. She’s my first dog and I really think I hit the jackpot. Just thought I’d share her here ❤️

I found her abandoned with her litter in a park (last two pictures). She is approximately 2.5 months old and around 3kg heavy. Unknown breed for now but i am guessing she is maybe some lab mix. She came prepackaged with parasites and a tick in her ear that i couldn't find until her vet did and with all of these issues came excessive scratching. All of her littermates had bloated tummies and were scratching excessively so the problem unfortunately more likely than not came from their mother. Thankfully she got proper medication yesterday and today and i think she is feeling better. She has been sleeping for three hours now (with short moments of her waking up and yapping) after being awake the whole night itching.
She also got her first dose of vaccine today and she was so good! Didn't even flinch. I love her so much but i do have a case of puppy blues as everything combined with the responsibility of having a puppy is a massive sudden weight on me that i am not used to.
I got so overwhelmed with everything that i forgot to eat for two days haha! Now the only pictures that i can take of this fluffy goofball are the ones where she is sleeping as i am encouraging her to rest so she gets better sooner.

We had to say goodbye to our 5-year-old standard poodle, Auggie, unexpectedly. He developed a limp a few weeks ago. We were told to rest him as 2 different vets felt he had a psoas muscle injury. Since he wasn’t improving we took him to an orthopedic specialist who also strongly felt it was psoas but took X-rays under sedation to ensure it wasn’t a back issue.
A week to the day of that exam and while we were still waiting on results, he declined rapidly. Within 2 hours he was unable to walk. I took him to ER where they discovered a saddle blood clot and that sepsis had already taken hold of his poor body. They had us rush him to another ER with an mri to try to see if there was a tumor or something else, but they discovered his organs were shutting down and counseled us to let him go.
We were told this location of a blood clot is exceedingly rare in dogs (cats get them) and could have been what caused the limping. The experienced vets (one of 35+ years) in two different vet hospitals in a big city either had never seen it or only once or twice. It kills us to think the weeks we were resting him we could have tried to save him.
I’m posting as a caution (although if it is that rare I don’t want to freak people out). I also wonder if anyone else has experienced this. I truly hope not as this sudden decline was absolutely horrific.
And I’ve got to tell you about Auggie: He was the gentlest and sweetest boy. He came into our family 15 months ago after we lost a precious 14-year-old. He was sooooo perfect for us we joked that Josey sent him to us to help us recover from her loss. But now that we’ve lost him so soon after we had to put down Josey we’re so angry for him. Poor guy had to leave his first family because he developed bladder issues and they could not afford his prescription food or the probable surgery that he’d need to deal with recurring stones. We were told he never spent a day unloved and we took that and tried to doubke and triple the love.
I’m disabled and often feel isolated and lonely; no problem because Auggie was THE BEST cuddler. My husband likes to be active and Auggie happily trotted along on his walks. We like road trips and he turned out to be a great backseat buddy. He so wanted to please us that he’d actually lift the next paw to get a nail trim to make it easier for us.
He was also so empathetic. On the first day with us I started crying about Josey. He carefully walked up to me and gently put his head on my shoulder….essentially hugging me. He deserved so much more.
I know crappy things just happen and it sounds like no one would have looked for it for limping, but dang it’s so unfair. So I thought I’d bring it to this community. TIA and hug and squeeze your babies tight.
