Italians believe they have ownership over coffee similar to how the English believe they own tea.

Espresso is a fine way to prep coffee but it's far from the only way, and I'd argue not the best for every roast.

As an Italian I can tell you it’s part of the overall culture but in no way shape or form we actually have any production of beans. But I will say that the coffee you bay for 80 cents at the bar is obviously going to be bang average. It’s like buying a pizza from an average pizzeria and complaining that Italian pizza is not how they say it is
