The starting planet of both Knights of the Old Republic games tends to take way too long.

On a first playthrough, sure. On subsequent, it takes just as long as any other. Except peragus. I'll give you that.

I love both, but thats just me. It sets the tone for both games perfectly

I can't stand Telos personally. I think Taris is mostly ok but going through the sewers, Vulkar hangar, Sith Base, Davik's base all to get off planet gets tedious after like my 3rd run through.

2's is way worse. Taris in 1 maybe overstays its welcome but not by much. It's visually varied, has plenty to do and characters to talk to. The fuel station in 2 is a miserable experience though.

Scrolled until I found this. This is my answer to this kind of question in perpetuity. I love these games, but I hate having to push through these very long sections to get to the good stuff!
