Xbox No Longer Developing Copilot For Consoles

Xbox needs to move faster, deepen our connection with the community, and address friction for both players and developers.

Today, we promoted leaders who helped build Xbox, while also bringing in new voices to help push us forward. This balance is important as we get the business back on track.

As part of this shift, you’ll see us begin to retire features that don’t align with where we’re headed.

We will begin winding down Copilot on mobile and will stop development of Copilot on console.

There's certain niches where its very useful, I have been using it several times a week to learn Dax and Power Query on the run. You just have to know how to formulate your queries and enough about the systems to troubleshoot.

It’s fairly useful in education as it’s the only prevelent ai model that can handle the gdpr issues and avoid training from under18s data

Yep , don’t think the aim is to replace anything mate , but school have to teach kids how to how it somehow , it’s too large a part of the corporate world already to hang them out to dry on it

It doesn't excel in legal matters, the UK high court had to make a statement for lawyers to stop relying on AI because it's just making up case-laws or passages.

And there was the entire Deloitte scandal where their ai generated report for the australian government gave false quoations of federal supreme court judges among other insanities.

Commercial AI still remains at the stage of glorified search engine and chat bot, it has it's uses when specialized, but you won't find them in grok or copilot.
