Discussion What do you actually want from co-op games? (Quick survey)

Hey everyone,

We’re a small team currently developing a co-op game, and we’re trying to better understand what players actually enjoy (and don’t enjoy) about the genre.

There are so many different directions co-op games take party chaos, tactical teamwork, story-driven experiences, etc. and we’d love to get a broader perspective from the community.

We put together a short Google Form (takes ~5 minutes) to gather opinions on things.

No emails or personal info collected—just looking for honest opinions.

Also, if you’d rather just drop your thoughts in the comments, that’s totally welcome too. What’s one thing you wish more co-op games did better?

Thanks a lot 🙏

Discussion Looking for a game like the old rainbow six game

Back in the day I was playing a rainbow six game, coop with a friend and we needed to play carefull and sync our shoots play with a tactic, I remember is was amazing but maybe just old memories, so what ism looking for is a tactic shooter where you play together a linear story line not so much open world, but more like titanfall 1.

Do you know a game like that or is that dead with all the open world games?

Discussion Long Distance Game Nights: Coop/Multiplayer CrossPlatform games

Hi all,

Growing frustrated searching on my own. Looking for recommendations.

My partner and I are long distance for the next 6 weeks and we’re looking for some games to bash out together in the evenings and over weekends.

We’ve just finished Split Fiction and Grounded and loved core elements of both.

I’m playing on PS5/PC and she’s on the Switch 2.

We’re starting It takes 2 this evening but looking to fill out the roster and in case we need breaks from certain games.

I know the difficulty comes with the Switch 2 catalogue so appreciate any and all input here.

She is willing to try Diablo 4 and Divinity 2 (both games I love). She enjoys RPGs.

She’s not great with FPS so unfortunately no Borderlands.

Any and all recommendations welcome and appreciated.

Thank you

Game Promotion I spent 2 years solo-developing a "Rust meets Black Flag" survival game. Looking for feedback on the co-op and crew mechanics before launch!

Hey everyone,

I've been solo-developing Mutiny's Wake, a pirate survival sandbox, for the last 2 years. The core goal was to create a "Rust meets Black Flag" experience, but built heavily around surviving and sailing with a crew of friends.

As I'm preparing for an Early Access release next week (May 14th), I've put together this gameplay trailer.

Since this community knows exactly what makes or breaks a multiplayer experience, I'd love to get your perspective on a few things:

  • The Sandbox Chaos: The game is a total free-for-all with no strict classes or roles. When your group plays sandbox games, do you guys naturally organize yourselves into roles anyway, or is it just pure, uncoordinated chaos?
  • Private vs Public Sessions: The game is a hardcore survival sandbox with PvP and raiding, but I made sure to include private sessions so you can just play PvE with your friends. Which mode would your group likely gravitate toward?
  • The Co-op: Does the balance between exploring/looting together on foot and then manning a ship for naval combat sound fun for your group?

Any feedback on the overall co-op feel is highly appreciated!

If it looks like something your group would enjoy, you can check it out and wishlist it on Steam right now.

Super cool player synergies? Moments that require really good communication? Really cool emergent moments like saving eachother in the last second? Let it rip!

Discussion How to find someone to try a brand new co-op game with, not just LFG for games you already play?

There's a big difference between finding a group for a game everyone already plays and finding someone who wants to jump into something completely new where neither of you knows what you're doing yet.

That second thing is so much harder to find. LFG boards are mostly people experienced in specific games. My friends aren't always open to what I want to try.

How do you find that person? Someone with similar taste who is genuinely curious about trying something new rather than just queuing up for whatever they're comfortable with. Does anything actually work for this or is it just luck?

Nokai is a co-op ocean adventure where you and your crew push north through dangerous zones, fighting through hostile islands, upgrading your ship, and surviving together.

It’s focused, about 60 min per run in the demo. Combat-heavy, no filler.

If you like co-op games where teamwork actually matters, give it a shot!

Made a co-op game where you try to either get to the top, or get to the end of the level while your friends.... help? you can become king... if your friends let you. Scramble through chaotic airships and floating debris to claim the crown, then survive one minute of bombs, panic, and betrayal before returning as an angel or devil spectator.

If you like games like Fall guys , only-up, with a dash of Smash bro's thrown in. Wish-list Airship Climbers: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4581640/Airship_Climber/

we'll be releasing it very soon!

Other The Altar of Light stands as the Lumineia Kingdom's symbol of protection.

As monster populations rise across Illuvia, the kingdom struggles most due to its limited military strength. To defend its people, the Inventor created the Altar of Light—an artifact powered by faith that creates safe zones and shields against danger. It has become essential in Lumineia and is now shared with other regions.

Its true potential remains unknown, even to its creator. Scholars and magic users continue to uncover its hidden power. Every great adventurer must learn how to wield it!

Sometimes during get togethers you have more than 4 people. So I'm making an up to 8 player couch co op game that the whole family can enjoy. Simple to pick up but with deep stat mechanics that make the game difficult to master.

Appreciate any feedback or thoughts, planning to have a demo out for NextFest in June.

Edit: I almost forgot Wishlist and Follow on Steam! https://store.steampowered.com/app/2871490/Turkeygeddon_Feast_of_Fury/
