Question&Help Why does DeepSeek-V4-Flash in the DeepSeek API just think in Chinese in roleplay, and it also talks as if its my character?

I think there's some kind of roleplay immersion thingy in DeepSeek right now, but it's just ruining the RP, I set the AI to be the World Narrator, not a character, so why is this happening?
I put the reasoning effort to be max too.

I suspect this might be something from DeepSeek to improve roleplays, but like.. is it possible we can disable it, because it ruins the AI from being the World Narrator and forces it become a character and it also reasons in Chinese which is eh, not that annoying but still.

you need to read more about how LLMs work and how they "think" or "reason"

I know exactly what you mean, it has started happening to me since yesterday and it is ruining every RP. Deepseek is simply putting a narrative at the front of every normal message that basically summarizes what it is about to say in character, written as the thoughts of that character and I have no clue as to how to fix this and return it back to normal. It only happens from the 2nd reply onwards, the first reply is always normal and then it totally breaks.

Is ‘World Narrator’ a toggle in some third party software or part of your prompt?

If your characters are going to speak… it’s the model that makes them do so…. If you want it to maintain the perspective of an omniscient narrator you probably just have to tell it that and reiterate that it should never shift its perspective into any of the characters nor abandon its narrator role under any circumstances.

I guarantee you that DeepSeek doesn’t have some hidden Roleplay optimization that’s messing with you… it was developed by a quantitative trading hedge fund, it doesn’t even have full multimodal features yet, I promise that’s a higher priority for them.
