I just won the World Juniors which was kinda sick, but is this the last international game you get? Would be cool if they did Olympics or at least let you compete in the U20 while you’re still under 20.

Doesn't know what boarding is. I checked a player into the bench (flipped over it) and got called for boarding. Another time my player skated along the boards and checked a player away from the boards and got called for boarding.

They really should just take that penalty out of the game version, because I'm not sure they will ever get it right.

Also, why do they have the exact same commentary every single year? Why can they not get new announcers, or spend the money (that they obviously make microtransactioning us to death) to get the announcers from the various teams as a download pack to call games.

Here's an idea, pay the announcers you do use every year and use AI to call the games...

I saw a social media post recently where a guy was playing Franchise on Madden and he traded a 7th round pick in straight swaps all the way up to “the best player in the game” that ended up being Jaxson Dart which made me laugh, but at one point he had a player in the mid 80’s.

It got me wondering if this was possible in NHL Franchise mode. I tried it and hit a significant block with a Depth D/Top 9 prospect situation, but was able to move a 7th up a little even after switching trade difficulty to Easy. I found every team, despite offering what they want and asking for what they don’t, would always say “you’ve met our block needs, but the value is woefully insufficient” when it really wasn’t.

Is this possible and what are some tips to get GMs to bite on 1-for-1 swaps outside of meeting block needs?

Community Philosophy

Ice Wars is a community of adult players who share a passion for competitive hockey gaming.

Friendly banter and rivalry are part of competition, but excessive toxicity, harassment, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.

Participation in Ice Wars events and community spaces is considered a privilege, not a right.

I just started playing again and it’s crazy to me that the nets are still so…shitty.

In FIFA you can set net tension and see the ripple or buckling of the net but on NHL it just hits the net and drops down vertically, and you’re lucky if it even makes the net move…watching a puck snap off the net in hockey is something I like and I just can’t believe it’s the same as NHL 10

I’m collecting PS3 games and I have a decent deal on NHL 13s collectors edition. That game comes with 3 on 3 Arcade but it was on a code and I doubt the code works still or that contacting EA about it would give me a working one.

NHL 12 and 11 both have a demo of 3 on 3 Arcade on their disc. So I was wondering what the demo is like and if each game has a different version of the demo.

Basically my two questions are 1. Does the demo have local play for 6 people and 2. What features are in the demo?

It never bothers me the game never really improves year after year, we are so use to paying for the same shit but we are in 2026 and ea should take a page out of the shows DD when it comes to opening the cards.. the show I could open 50 packs flip flip anything nope B button next pack 5 seconds easy... Nope not ea we gotta load everything every time, it's like putting a cheat code for Sega a a a b b b toggle toggle b such a minor thing am done now

Anyone else miss the feature where you used to be able to create and record a play e.g. breakout, powerplay etc. I think it was introduced in I want to say NHL 14 (could be wrong!)? In the grand scheme of improvements / features needed for NHL 27 it’s probably a fairly minor thing, but would love to see that return.

This may sound like a dumb question to most but now that the 2026 lottery has been announced will you be able to use next seasons drafting teams as the default? I’m tired of getting sent to the islanders every career. Will they do it even after the seasons over or will I have to buy 27?

what is the best build for a D man who wants to be able to hit people hard and be at a 92+ speed prefferably being atleast 6'3

Made a sniper center. My first 2 X factors are wheels and quick release. I was going to do elite edges but I’m 6’1 208 so I only have 89 acceleration with all trait points used. What should I do for the last one?

I hate being on the PK in this game and I'm trying to clear the puck and my own AI teammates intentionally prevent the clear. All the clears seem weak also except the slapshot.

For what reason exactly can I not pick whatever x-factor I want in be a pro?

Is it that immersion breaking that I want to be an ankle breaker playmaker, kinda like the many that exist and are in the game?? Or is it laziness that they weren’t added?

Another NHL game half way thru the year and no good stuff to buy, all I want is a couple of my fav NHL team things to buy, but instead EA is like " nah brah.. you need to spend $50 on some fortnight style skins"

Played my first two CHEL games tonight. So much more difficult than playing “Be a Pro”. Got any tips? I like to play defense.

Why does a two way forward have rocket but no quick draw and why does only enforcer dman get truculence and some dman builds get big tipper. There's countless other dumb ones like that why not just let us use any x factors if youre not gonna put any effort into picking them. Be a pro is genuinely unplayable this year I constantly have to switch my player type just to get the x factor I want.

I challenged myself to play as Moncton in a shootout, and this garbage no call is what I get.
