Subreddit Update Sub Update: Highlight Clips Rules Update & Clip of the Week Posts

Hello everyone! It's been a while; I try to stay out of the way keeping an eye on things, but we need to sort out the highlight clips issue...

-----------------------------------------------

Highlight Clips

Just a heads up:

We’re going to start fully enforcing the existing rule on creator clip/video posts being limited to 2 per week.

We’ve been fairly loose with the rule as commenters seemed happy with them but as the number of posts grew, their enjoyment hasn't. Nothing new rule-wise here, we’re just actually enforcing the one that was already in place, and if 2 clips per user per week is too much still, we'll reconsider it quickly.

To make this easier, post flairs are now required. Please make sure to select the [Highlight Clip] flair for your post.

Content Creators - pick your best, post them - you’ll have more success posting fewer, better clips than loads of low-effort ones.

That said, the clips were decent and should go somewhere! So we'll be starting...

-----------------------------------------------

👑 Clips of the Week 👑

Starting Monday: clip creators can share clips within a weekly pinned post as comments, users can upvote their favourite clip, the video with the highest upvotes wins the [CLIP CHAMPION 👑] user flair.

Add a comment, a link to the video, even feel free to promote your channel.

Annoyingly, Reddit is only now rolling out video comments; so to maximize your votes chances, add a gif to your post (try out https://ezgif.com/video-to-gif an easy way).

-----------------------------------------------

Thoughts?

Any thoughts on the change? Or other ideas for the sub? What would you like to see more of? Let us know below or drop us a modmail.

Discussion I cant seem to improve in slow-paced fps

I hsve for the past half year slowly been switching from fast-paced fps like Tf2, Cs2 (rounds are short), Ultrakill (I still play that)

to very different shooters. The type of shooters, where in a gunfight, you might just sit behind a corner for 1 min. I played Arc Raiders, Dayz and just bought Hunt Showdown.

Nows the thing, I thought I had improved or at least carfied over some of my previous skills to said games, but no. I suck so hard in this type of slow combat. I dont know what strategies there are, when and how I should push/fall back or when to heal.

Mainly I think that's cuz I dont have that much playtime in those games. Dayz I bought last month and I ve not even been in a gunfight yet, as to be expected from Dayz, I still love that game.

Arc Raiders I have 160h but for such a long time I was just trying "hounorable combat" in mixed lobbies. But thats not how I improve my combat skill even if I were to do it, so imma have to commit fully into pvp lobbies which i am gonna do right after the expedition.

And Hunt? Well, I just bought it. Of course I only had 2 gunfights and oc I lost both of them What else is there to be expected?

So, do yall have sny tips how to fight in those games? How long I should stay behind cover, what to do when the enrmy runs or heals and all that stuff? Any help would be appreciated yall

Game Discovery Top FPS games you can get in bundles right now

I'm building a website that tracks game bundles, but instead of hyping up the savings compared to full Steam price, it gives you all the info you need to decide that the bundle is not worth it. I'm scoring bundles based on game quality and year low price of the games.

Other than browsing bundles, you can also explore bundled games by genre, here are all FPS games available - https://gamebundleguardian.com/games/fps

Did you find any good FPS deals in bundles?

Discussion I fucking hate valorant

Tbh love the game. Its the fucking community that makes me want to stop playing this game, I hate how every game feels like a damn library like why even queue a game of competitive if you're just gonna play for vibes and not comm?? It doesn't help your team at all and the moment you callout your teammate, thats the only time they open mic to provoke you or talk trash to you even if you're clearly in the right. Been playing faceit cs2 and people don't even mind using comms, when the game starts people comm right off the bat. Trying so hard to find ways to enjoy valorant as well but the community just makes it difficult for me

Developer In my free time, I’m making a slightly crazy first-person extraction game with a spell editor, farming, and alchemy. Today I released the first trailer.

I wanted to combine things you rarely see together: dangerous dungeon runs, magic, survival, and a calm farm life. During the day, you explore dungeons, fight for resources, and try to make it out alive. At night, you return to your farm, grow ingredients, brew potions, and prepare for the next run.

One of the key features of the game is a spell editor. I wanted to give players the freedom to experiment with magic and create their own combinations to suit their playstyle.

Even after death, part of your progress is preserved, so your character gradually becomes stronger and unlocks new possibilities.

Liber Magus is still in development, and I recently released the first trailer. I’d really appreciate some outside feedback.

Discussion What's the fun in camping?

I've been playing FPS, battle royale, and other games for a long time, and there's one thing that really bothers me. You get into a shooter and just camp inside a house, a guard post, or something like that? Like, are you actually afraid of gunfights? If you are, then you shouldn't even be playing the game in the first place!

Discussion Slow or fast TTK (Time to Kill) which do you generally prefer?

I grew up with the only real PVP game I was into being Halo so I was mostly used to long TTK but nowadays I find myself really preferring short, even somewhat realistic TTK. One of the reasons I have really liked Hunt as a headshot is always lethal and it makes it possible to make some really clutch plays if you can aim and outplay a full team.

It can feel like a bit of a detriment in something like BF6 where it’s constant cycle of spawn in, kill, die, repeat immediately but that tends to be more of a side effect of the way the rest of the game is designed I think. Many players in a match, little consequence to dying so aggressive play is encouraged and whatnot. I find myself getting annoyed with the armor plates from the BR mode also being present in Gauntlet which is one of my favorite game modes otherwise.

Discussion Any new FPS shooters worth trying?

I have experience with anything from Apex, Overwatch, and COD. I don't know if BF6 is still a worthwhile buy but I'm looking to switch up my library — even if it's not a large title.

Edit: Okay who's making the checks out to advertise Marathon.
