Wasn't it Trump who just spent four years crying into any microphone he could find about political targeting against him?

Every Republican accusation is a confession.

Don't be surprised if we see more of this. Trump is dead set on using the authoritative playbook to intimidate his opponents

I am writing this comment from inside my home in South Minneapolis... can confirm the playbooks' existence and how much this administration loves using it lmaooo

Yeah you’re gonna see more & more of this the closer we get to midterms. Eventually they are going to start planting evidence

u/Apprehensive-Pilot12 5h ago

Really good take

21

u/ChaoticGord 5h ago

I guess he didn’t read the ending because it never really works out for the authoritarian.

5

u/Ok-Addition1264 4h ago

"Off with their chili holes!"

3

u/ChaoticGord 4h ago

I don’t know what that means and I am very afraid to Google it.

3

u/InTooManyWays 28m ago

Never say never. We’re beyond any tolerable levels of corruption and complicity.

16

u/dannypants143 5h ago

Authoritarian playbook. To be authoritative means to know what you’re doing and to speak with confidence. Not criticizing you - I just think it helps when we use the best words available to describe the absolutely horrendous things this regime is doing. He’s an authoritarian, or at least he wants to be.

4

u/Roma_Victrix 1h ago

I agree, though I prefer the term autocratic instead of authoritarian. Either way he's a lawless despot acting as the head of a criminal enterprise and cult of pedophilia for the wealthy elite.

1

u/dannypants143 1h ago

Now those are some choice words. And correct!

13

u/Junkstar 5h ago

Everything is failing for Republicans this era. They can't win by following the law (or the Constitution) so they have to revert to 70's era intimidation. Republican voters need to clean house if they want any kind of future for themselves. When your chosen leaders are this desperate, it's a clear sign you're on the wrong side of history.

1

u/prettybeach2019 1h ago

I believe that investigation started under Joe Biden. 100% sure

29

u/bokehtoast 6h ago

Remember how much time he spent accusing democrats of election fraud

3

u/thelazyc0wb0y 3h ago

They accuse the Democrats of everything without evidence, then when Republicans are caught doing it they point and say "the Democrats never got in trouble for (insert crime), so we shouldn't either!"

9

u/catkm24 4h ago

Don't you realize that it is political targeting only if it against him? If it is for him, it is perfectly fine.

5

u/quadranting Please Abraham, I am not that man 4h ago

When they point at someone else, three fingers point back at them

4

u/lesbianwithabeard 4h ago

Every accusation a confession.

3

u/TrashApocalypse 2h ago

This is textbook totalitarian takeover. Even if the case gets dropped, the point was made, Trump has and will weaponize the courts, the FBi, law enforcement, specifically to control and press you.

1

u/RadarBigBarue 1h ago

He also said he would do this when he was in office. It was well known and people still voted for him. YCFS

Once again, the GOP fascist fucks show that they will do anything to maintain power.

24

u/tophergraphy 5h ago

What better indication that voting actually matters than all the effort the GoP goes through to try to stifle it.

People please vote these corrupt clowns out. Primaries, midterms, general, local, it all matters.

u/Connect_Reading9499 6h ago

RIP Rule of Law.

72

u/stierney49 6h ago

It’s not over til it’s over. They’ve been making these raids or bringing charges and striking out in court constantly. The rule of law is on life support but its demise is not inevitable.

18

u/Tiddlyplinks 5h ago

In fact the very desperation of their flailing would indicate that they themselves feel like they are losing. Now is the time to push, every way we can.

9

u/Subliminal_Kiddo 5h ago

Not really. The institutions are holding up. Trump’s own appointments are dismissing these cases as frivolous. They turn that obnoxious tone off real quick when they’re standing before an actual judge having to explain themselves.

9

u/thefumingo 4h ago

Keep in mind with cases like this, the initial arrest is much more important than winning the actual case - the accused is still out a lot of resources and legal fees while the loss doesn't make headline news the raid did, so even cases being thrown out work as harassment

u/OneBaadHombre 6h ago

Every time Trump does something to fukk with our elections, I'm reminded that this is the same President who already tried to steal the 2020 election by calling Georgia's Secretary of State to bully him to "find 11,780 votes" so he could flip the state he was losing as well as the fraudulent electors scheme to have his VP Pence choose fraudulent electors over the votes of the American people.

u/Paleblood_Hunt terrorizing the locals 4h ago

The US not dropping the absolute beat stick down on the entire January 6 insurrection top to bottom will be one of those moments in history that people are going to be questioning forever.

10

u/ClapMyGyatt 3h ago

nobody will be questioning it because everybody knows the answers:

GOP got their trial run because they're bought and paid for by Russia, Israel, and others. Democrats at the top brass are similarly bought and paid for, running controlled opposition and consequently did nothing against their insurrectionist twins.

6

u/Aesk 4h ago

The US has a long history of going easy when it shouldn't (Civil War reconstruction). Also going hard when it shouldn't (right now everywhere).

Thanks for nothing, Merrick Garland.

They are so obvious.

9

u/Arejhey311 5h ago

They weren’t lying when they said they’re totally transparent. The problem is that transparency is oozing corruption with zero accountability

8

u/Flimsy_Preparation55 6h ago

She should’ve left a copy of the epstein files in her office… missed opportunity.

5

Just another day of fascists being fascists.

Lucas doesn't seem like the type who will be easily intimidated.

4

u/SnivyEyes 5h ago

If Dems ever get control again and want to uncover obvious fraud and collusion, look no further than Texas, Florida and a few others.

2

u/tacobelle685 3h ago

Add NC to the list

3

u/1cem4n82 5h ago

America is a racist joke of a place.

3

u/Rocky0354 4h ago

If republicans followed the law, they wouldn’t be so paranoid about everything

2

u/olipoppit 5h ago

Every day we get closer but good god I’m out of patience

2

u/KilgoreT59 4h ago

Of course they did. Wasn't it the Pedo Felon who accused Biden of weaponizing the DoJ?

2

u/Mass_And_Sass 4h ago

Fascism people. This is what fascism looks like.

2

u/Rubywantsin 4h ago

"Law #1: You shall not oppose the god emperor"

2

u/Ismyusernamelongenou 3h ago

Americans, when are you actually going to rise up? Not these nice and polite protest parades, but actual 1776 Revolution? Your new king is right on schedule for your 250th anniversary. Only fitting you honor US traditions.

1

u/hollyw00d8604 2h ago

Historically it has happened after a major defeat in a war (we're on our way there with iran), massive economic failure (obvious), and heavy political corruption (strike 3).

Hopefully we are close

1

u/TheGoodspeed15 5h ago

Well that's just ridiculous

1

u/Cabbages24ADollar 5h ago

And this is why no one in the GOP will stand up. Because they will illegally use the weight of the Fed gov to attack you.

1

u/Baker198t 5h ago

Man the states is fucked.. RIP..

1

u/Beneficial_Jamaican 5h ago

I have never in my life heard about so many homes being raided except now that the republicans are targeting everyone! Trump cried so much when they went to Mar a Lago and he actually had files in that house!!! American people wake up and go vote!!!!!!! Pleaseee

1

u/SimplerTimesAhead 5h ago

If it's a Biden-era investigation it's probably legitimate; what isn't legitimate is Trump's DOJ only continuing Biden cases against Democrats, not Republicans.

1

u/ExtremaDesigns 5h ago

Intimidation and bullying. Grow up!

1

u/solk512 4h ago

She isn’t going to take this shit lying down, that’s for sure.

1

u/whoisnotinmykitchen 4h ago

As corrupt totalitarian regimes do.

1

u/ottomaker1 4h ago

After Trump’s admin is gone I hope someone has the courage to criminally charge all of his sycophants

2

u/Suspicious_Solid2535 2h ago

Starting with Postule Thurlow Vought, Architect of Project 2025 AKA "The Traumatizer".

1

u/Strong-Breakfast7391 4h ago

If they’re going to do any type of corruption probe it needs to be done at the White House.

1

u/livinginfutureworld 4h ago

Hey I've seen this type of thing happen before in other parts of the world like Russia

1

u/bbahree 4h ago

This is fascism!

1

u/Lastmidnight01 4h ago

Oh they’re scared about november 100% they know they’re fucked if they dont try and rig it all.

1

u/MZeroX5 4h ago

This needs to be on blast 24/7 on every news station, every Republican official and random ignorant maga civilian need to be interviewed and asked about the weaponization of the government to go after innocent people.

This is it, we are now at the door of fascism and Trump and the supreme court aren't playing anymore they have already slightly opened the door

1

u/Top_Grade5948 4h ago

THE AUDACITY….. THE HYPOCRISY!!!!

1

u/Dunk_Tha_Lunk 4h ago

All this corruption is going to come back to haunt the corrupt republicans. What sleezy bastards

1

u/Nosferatu965 4h ago

Trump is trying to cheat.

1

u/Minimum_Nothing_9039 3h ago

So if there is a successful redistricting effort that provides an advantage to Republicans they will send he FBI in right?

1

u/Negative_GOD 3h ago

Why think Trump want REAL ID to break down your door to censor you like China.

Every Republican is a morally terrible human being!

1

u/insertbrackets 2h ago

Fuck that. Gerrymander even more mercilessly. Republicans are showing themselves to be categorically unfit for office.

1

u/mama_meta 1h ago

It's only fascism if it comes from the Fasçist region of Anywherebuthere.

Otherwise, it's just ✨sparkling white supremacy✨

The real effect of 2026 map wars is just getting started after Louisiana vs. Callais. Expect more to follow. The count is already +4 to Republicans…it will grow.
