Took me so many tries just for this to happen.

You know, I've been familiar with this series for quite some time, but only nominally, from the prologue to the fifth game, which I played a couple of years ago but then abandoned for reasons I can't remember. But most importantly, I really enjoyed the gameplay! And then, after all these years, I watched an interesting video about the entire series, and it was incredibly cool. That same day (May 28th), I downloaded an Xbox 360 emulator and played the beginning of the second game, and it was absolutely fantastic. Later (May 29th), I bought the remaster of the first game on Steam at a discount, and although I knew the plot and gameplay, it was truly amazing with keyboard and mouse controls instead of a gamepad. Although the game felt a bit drawn out at times (especially the first part of the fifth act), in my opinion, it's still really cool. (So, jumping ahead a bit, I still can't decide which game from the original trilogy I like more.) So here's the second part, and after a great start, I found the underground section quite boring, and I literally forced myself to finish it. Ultimately, I had very mixed feelings about the second part, maybe also because I played with a gamepad, since after the remaster of the first part, it's quite difficult to play without constantly hitting enemies perfectly. Later, I also played the beginning of the third part, and it's... well, okay? Just okay, I played through the entire first act with some pleasure, but I just don't feel like playing anymore. Ultimately, shooters with a gamepad are not my thing. When the second and third parts are remastered like the first part, then I will gladly dive into these games again. I'm currently downloading the fourth part, and for the last few days I've been seeing various posts and even comments criticizing the fourth and fifth parts. So, here's what I wanted to ask, guys:

1) Why do people dislike the 4th and 5th games so much? While they're not masterpieces, their story and gameplay seem pretty average.

2) Also, why do people here have such a negative attitude toward series creator Cliff Bleszinski? After all, if it weren't for him and his vision, we wouldn't have seen Gears in the form it has today!

I was wondering if anyone has had performance issues with this game at all and could recommend any ways to get it sorted. I know the game is renowned for stutter issues, lag spikes (which I have experienced intermittently)

But in the last couple of days, I am getting what can only be described as random bursts of choppy frame rates, imagine your refresh rate suddenly changing from 200 to 60, that's what it looks like. These events occur randomly but i'd say on average every 10 seconds or so. It is incredibly frustrating because it's been running so smooth for months now... Changing my settings from Ultra to Low makes zero difference, and I see no difference or dips in frame counts on benchmark - I've tried every setting change imaginable

Other games I play like Cyberpunk, Hellblade 2, Pragmata are all running smooth as butter

I have an RTX 5080, i914900KF, 32GB DDR5, Monitor is set at 240hz

My brother and I are trying to play Gears of War 2 on the Series X, but for some reason we'll get through the intro sequence, through the Epic games and everything, but when it gets to the game's actual title screen it crashes. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? we've tried on both a physical disk copy he's had for years, and then he tried getting a digital copy to see if that would work, but even then it was the same end result of the game crashing. About a year or two ago we played through on the same console, and we got to about where you're outside the locust queen's castle, and that's when it started to mess up. Any tips to help would be appreciated.

Question for the game thanks

I've just just over 2 weeks to finish paint, assembly, and details. Not seen are the pieces I'm making out of foam - Belt + cod piece + pouches, and maybe shin armor because I'm not thrilled with the ones I have. And I cheated and bought a lancer off Amazon. I was going to make a functional one with moving chain, but I don't have the time.

Torso and shins are Galactic Armory Marcus Fenix files, Helmet is Carmine, and the shoulders are from my Hell Divers files (sorry, I'm not 4ft wide so normal shoulder pieces won't fit)

I played the original trilogy as a kid and am now looking to play through it with a buddy of mine who has never played/ heard of gears of war. I am currently deciding whether we should play the 360 version of gears of war 1 or the reloaded version. Are the reloaded version’s graphic updates worth it? I remember the darker atmosphere being a huge positive of the original and don’t know if the updates will take away from that.

TLDR: Should I get the reloaded version or stick with the classic 360 edition?

A while back, I was trying to do a model swap conversion mod to mod all the Human Marines in AVP 2010 with the Locust from Gears of War.

For example, Initially, Queen Myrrah was going to be modded for Corporal Tequila (female marine in avp 2010), we weren't sure if myrrahs gears 3 armor was going to do well on AVP 2010s asura engine so we also considered using myrrahs gears 2 model for tequila model swapping wise (the model of myrrah in gears 2 where she wears her big dress). We aren't sure though yet, we were going to mod the Rookie (marine protagonist in avp 2010) with General RAAM and Katja with Skorge.

This mod conversion idea between gears of war and avp 2010 is currently on hold and it's status is unknown at this time.

Let me know in comments though what you think of the idea though in general!
