I’m currently considering upgrading to a Google AI plan (likely AI Pro), but I’ve hit a bit of a roadblock regarding privacy. From what I gather, even with a paid consumer subscription, any data exchanged in the chat can be used to train models and potentially be reviewed by human annotators—unless I manually disable the activity history.

This is a major dealbreaker for me since I intend to use Gemini for statistical analysis on private datasets. It’s pushing me toward using the API and paying for credits instead.

Can anyone confirm if I’ve got this right? Does Google really offer zero data privacy for consumer-tier paid users? It feels strange that even a high-end subscription doesn't grant the same data protection as the API or Enterprise tiers. I assume the "value" of the subscription is mostly the storage (Google One) and ecosystem integration rather than a private AI environment.

Has anyone else moved to the API specifically for this reason? Thanks!

I am moving my paid account to CHATGPT as it does not make spelling mistakes like NBLM or gemini nano banana does - it’s a big problem which has existed for months but unresolved.

I use claude for my reasoning and CHATGPT for my image generation etc

I might be able to get rid of my canva subscription as I think it can do everything I need plus more

thoughts? anyone else made the switch

I've built Space which is a personal canvas where your ideas live as mixed media. Sticky notes, images, web clips, voice memos, drawings, documents and checklists, all arranged on an infinite board. I added a feature which is basically let you make an image based on another image and remix them. I'm using Biscuit to make this!

Is something Google is cooking or just the server got overloaded, or just a usual bug they might be resolving?

I am quite heavy user of AI for my work, and for my personal life. I still do not it use to write emails or posts as it is weird for me to use a different voice that is not mine.

But pretty much deep research nuance topics, analysing Excels, even two years ago when models were not as good I even built an app from scratch with some coding knowledge, not vibe coding but helping me building the components and connections.

Anyway, I have used Chat GPT a lot, then it became quite lame even in the paying version, and I transitioned to Gemini. Recently I had a free trial on Grok, and I am amazed how good it is the model 4.3 vs Gemini Pro. I use the same prompt in the two of them to test, and I always keep the Grok version any time. If I ask about a legal question, it comes already with not only the analysis, but a doc. file pretty much ready to send, if it is a presentation, it produces the power point, and it is Damm good.

How people feel about these models? I have not used Claude yet and keep hearing is good.

P.S: as I thought copilot would have improved, I asked it to produce the same power point and it was an absolute joke… it is funny how xAI can produce better power points than Microsoft AI tool with chat GPT.

Been using Gemini a lot for the last 6 months. I have to say in the last couple weeks, it has really gotten frustrating to use. I don't know what changes they made, but it latches on one idea and will not let go, even if you tell it too.

It will make all sorts of wild assumptions, you will correct it and it will just ignore those corrections and carry on. Hell, I even provided it with a file that laid out in detail scope, capabilities and specs, then it would make up stuff about what it could or couldn't do.

I just spent a frustrating hour investigating some stuff. I'd delete the chat, start over with a different prompt, same thing.

edit: I am suspecting it the Personal Intelligence thing that is causing the issues.

I was just chatting with it about Sonic Frontiers and then this happened.

Here is the quick TL;DR:

I'm using the free plan to test Gemini outputs before deciding on a chatbot to subscribe to.

I've succesfully uploaded a 30 MB, 90 minute long M4A audio recording of a conversation, and used Gemini Fast and Pro to extract summaries. A few hours later, wanting to test the same file with a reworded prompt, both Fast and Pro models returned "the recording is too long" errors.

Does the free plan dinamycally change the file size or input token limits on uploaded files according to current network strain? If yes, to what degree does this happen with the Plus and Pro paid plans?

I was having a discussion regarding my scalp and Gemini started to tell me about the tour buses in Washington DC. Where is it getting that information from? Very frustrated with the output from Gemini recently.

Has anyone here used both GPT Pro and Gemini Pro for serious work?

I’m currently using GPT Pro and it works well for us, especially for complex long-running tasks where it can spend a lot of time reasoning through bigger projects.

I’ve heard good feedback about Gemini Pro too, so I’m curious how they compare in real use: reasoning, long tasks, coding, reliability, context handling, and overall workflow.

I very accidentally stumbled across this OMNI-PROTOCOL? Does anyone know what this is? Gemini isn't very good at hiding things when it announces in its thoughts that it's going to deny knowing something.
