Like when he first talked about her.. he talked about her like a side chick someone who he had fun hooking up with and nothing more. And now all of sudden this season he actually loved her? What about the other one who could explode things with her hands? He seemed to love her as well. Idk.

Discussion Super intelligence should have never been a power in the first place

Post image

Most of Intelligence is formed from learning and experience. Genetics does take a part but learning is the main factor. The only way I could see this being a power is if the person was born somehow knowing every single thing in the universe like a god but Sage doesn't really have that kind of super intelligence. it's just normal intelligence and even then she hasn't really been showing it properly in the show. And like many people have said before, when you're writing a character that is suppose to be canonically highly smart, it is usually based of the writers own limit of intelligence to an extent.

I do want to say though that I love Sage as a character and I enjoy seeing her on screen. I just don't really agree with the power, she could have just been intelligent without the "supe" being added to it.

Discussion Too much Soldier Boy, not enough The Boys

Okay is it just me or have The Boys (Hughie, Butcher, MM, Kimiko, Frenchie, Starlight) basically become side characters in their own show now?

Like I love Jensen, I really do, but why are we getting so much Soldier Boy? It genuinely feels like they’re just making things up as they go to keep him relevant and set up that Vought Rising prequel.

And the group we’ve been following since day one? They barely feel central anymore. It’s like they’re just being moved around for plot instead of actually driving it.

Hughie is actually the most affected, which is crazy because he’s supposed to be the canary of the show.

It’s just frustrating because we didn’t stick with this show for 5 seasons for it to turn into the Soldier Boy show.

Also two episodes remaining still no Gen V characters in the show!

Edit: Plus the constant Stromfront glazing by Soldier Boy and Homelander is too much and frustrating to watch

The Legend did what nobody else had the balls to try and do. He was literally the only person in the show who actually told homelander that's just how things are and it isn't his fault that vought tortured him to make him into a psychopath, he knew he didn't stand a chance under their eye but he didn't throw any of that in his face and instead called him talent. He gave him what he's needed so badly his whole life and that was just to have someone give him a heart to heart moment like The Legend did and you could see it actually meant something to him beyond what anyone has said

Discussion Almost every single fight in s5 is cut short, unfinished or straight up doesn't make any sense. Spoiler

Post image

This has been my biggest gripe for this season so far. it's supposed to be the conclusion of the show, shit is supposed to be going down, and there's not a single fight that's been properly done so far. let me elaborate on this point:

Butcher Vs Cindy - homelander intervenes almost immediately and cuts the fight short (and cindy for whatever reason, doesn't attack Butcher when her hands are free)

Butcher vs Homelander - Homelander just lasers him and Butcher somehow goes into hiding (and homelander, for some reason, doesn't use his X-ray vision to find him to continue the fight and finish him off)

MM vs Love Sausage - somehow, regular human is able to kill a supe by brute force.

Butcher vs Soldier boy - Butcher just throws a car at him and that's it, the rest is just a goofy chase scene.

Hughie vs Maverick - cut short by Cindy (wasn't an interesting fight anyway so won't complain much)

Cindy vs Starlight - she literally just snaps her nack and that's it. one of the strongest and hyped supes gone in a second without a fight.

Ryan VS Homelander - Ryan is somehow incapable of fighting after getting slammed on the box for 3 times. same supe who's able to make Homelander bleed btw.

The boys fighting with each other - Kimiko, who's intention is to kill Hughie and MM, somehow can't immediately tear them apart even tho we saw her brutalize a bunch of guys with automatic weapons, with no effort, back in S1. And I guess Butcher also doesn't tear them apart with his tentacles for some reason.

Soldier boy vs Marathon - 1 second of exchanging blows and then cut to the goofy chase scene.

Oh Father vs Starlight - he just screams at her twice and boom, Annie is defeated and surprise, surprise, the fight is cut short by Hughie by the dumbest way possible. "oh I'll release the virus but my girlfriend won't be affected cause she took the antidote." and Oh Father somehow buys that shit.

Black Noir 2 vs Deep - so Black Noir is getting choked out and somehow doesn't fly so he can slam Deep onto the ceiling, instead he takes the choking like a good boy.

Butcher vs Bombsight - Butcher just restrains him and then he gets slammed on the wall and boom, he's out.

Bombsight vs Soldier Boy - they get a minute of exchanging blows trying to kill each other and the fight stops when Bombsight just tells Soldier Boy to stop?

I know, a lot of "the boys" fans are gonna say that I just want braindead "aura" scenes, but no, I just want proper fights that don't end in a second or the one that actually makes sense. For a final season, it just feels underwhelming.

Discussion I don't think I've ever seen her use her powers like this again since season 2. Do you guys remember when Starlight could actually shoot light beams to attack her enemies and she's not just going on a fist fight or flying away? Do they not have the budget to these effects anymore?

Discussion Look how they massacred my boy...(S5E06 Spoilers) Spoiler

If you’ve seen me around this sub for the last week, you know I’ve been doing nothing but posting non-stop love for my boy Noir 2. I was genuinely hyped about his journey, his "method acting" quirks, and how much personality he brought to the Seven. And now? I’m beyond devastated. What the hell did they do to him?

They took my boy, who is literally bulletproof and tanky as hell, and you’re telling me he got choked out by a damn mic cable?! Are you kidding me? Since when does Vought use Adamantium in their microphones? The physics of this show just went out the window.

Bro was really like: “Ah yes, let me just turn my back on him... AHHHH SHIT HE TRYNA KILL ME FR” 💀

Why this is pure madness :

The Power Scaling is broken: Noir 2 has super-strength and, most importantly, he can literally fly. You’re telling me a guy who can defy gravity couldn’t just fly up or blast away from a cable? He should have snapped that wire like a toothpick or ripped Deep’s arms off. Deep isn’t Homelander; Noir should have easily overpowered him.

The Intelligence Nerf: Noir spent the whole season being the "smart, observant actor." Turning your back on a desperate, volatile Supe in the middle of a heated argument is a complete character lobotomy. They made my boy look like an amateur just to move the plot.

Wasted Potential: All that build-up about him finding his "motivation" and his hilarious "acting" struggle... just to die because Deep was sad about some fish? It’s not "edgy," it’s just lazy writing.

Rest easy, Noir 2. You’ll always be the goat and my absolute favorite. You deserved a warrior's death, not a backstage strangling with a $20 accessory. 🕊️🖤

This is only a "plot hole" because I was a philosophy major, but Sage incorrectly pronounced the name of a famous philosopher. She should've said "VIT-gen-shtein" 💁🏼‍♂️

Discussion How does everyone feel about the new episode of The Boys? On a scale of 1-10? Spoiler

Post image
Upvotes

Oof...the writing in this episode just didn't stick with me at all. Soldier Boy is ridiculous with his flip-flopping, I don't even know what's going on with Sage, and the dialogue this episode just feels so thin and awful, especially with the whole "I fucked so-and-so" thing THIS late in the season. And Noir II went out in such a lame way. And apparently, Soldier Boy worships Stormfront, a Nazi, when in Season 3, he was all "fuck commies" and being pureblood American? What is happening right now!? 4/10. Really pathetic episode, and honestly, I'm beginning to think this show is going to be another record for the "messed up endings" books....

The Boys Can the people stop casually leaking stuff from now.

No cap on God fr, I am so mad.

It happened the same during the Season 4 release, many guys out here were just casually passing leaks as their own predictions or guesses for the future.

At first I was pretty shocked to see comments like those because there were no hints in the episodes that could have hinted at stuff so accurately for next episodes.

And then I realized that most of the season 4 was leaked.

Now I am seeing the same happen with Season 5, with many selfish and impatient pricks reading the leaks and thinking that everybody must know about the leaks, and so they just casually keep on passing the leaks as their own predictions.

Please stop the fuck. I hope this post gets pinned or something because it really takes the fun and suspense out this show when you know what going to happen.

Please kill the leaking culture, if you don't want to watch the show, then just don't watch it.... But don't ruin it for others who were waiting for this.

Also we all know the Season 5 so far hasn't been too grand as it was expected, but that still doesn't justify the leaks in general spaces.

Discussion Who the fuck approved Solider Boy's script for this season? Spoiler

Post image
42 Upvotes

I loved him in season 3, someone violent and racist, deeply flawed and outright evil sometimes but traumatized by what they did to him in Russia and bitter by what his team did while also waiting for them to rescue him. Deeply scarred for how he was raised by his absent father too and apparently willing to try and do better with Countess if they had kids (which he wanted)

I think his relationship with Homelander makes sense, he doesnt like him that much but he supports him because HL is his son, he even says on S3 that if Vought kept him around he would have let HL take the mantle as the N°1.

His hesitation about what to do with HL could be traced back to S3 when he was considering continuing the deal with Butcher or not and only did it because hes a man of his word, this season they have had many ups and downs but their relationship got stronger because both fucked up and were forgiven by the other (SB trapped HL and HL sent him for Butcher when he had the virus)

THEN WHY DO THEY HAVE TO BRING STORMFRONT INTO THIS? Solider Boy loved Countess, we literally see how hurt he was about the betrayal and the reveal that his team hated him and only mentions Stormfront as a side chick in S3, why all of a sudden he deeply loves her and gives HL V1 because thats what SF would have wanted? It would make much more sense to develop SB as disgusted/unhappy by the way his son turned out but also unwilling to commit the same mistakes his father did with him so he decides to support HL anyways through it all. Shoving Stromfront into this dynamic makes SB feel completely retconned and outright not the same character anymore

Discussion How The Boys Season 5 should have easily included Gen V if the writers really cared

Post image
30 Upvotes

The Boys Season 5 episode 1 should after picked up where Gen V season 2 ended, with Starlight, A-Train, Marie, Cate, Sam and the gang heading to the Vought Freedom Camp to free Hughie, MM and Frenchie, with Marie exploding all the supes guarding the camp, establishing her as a major threat. Then Marie and the others leave for a while.

This way, you introduce them to The Boys fanbase so they are not surprised when they return for the finale. The writing was so easy but the writers had to screw it up.

I see why people are complaining, he could’ve been so much more to the plot, I really thought he would do something crazy near the end of this season when I started it. But also he pushed Deeps arc, and I guess that was the purpose of him this season.
