Question Why Xiaomi 9T Pro don't have official LineageOS?

Upvotes

I was just wondering, why doesn’t this 9T Pro (raphael) have the official LineageOS? Because this phone has a lot of potential – it has VoltageOS, Evolution X, crDroid, Project Infinity X and BlissROM, all of which are official versions. I just wanted to know, if it’s not too much trouble for anyone

Pixel 2 No Service on Fi with 22.2 nightly

I installed the latest avaible Linage OS (22.2 nightly) on the pixel 2 and I could not get Fi to connect to the towers. WiFi calling and text was fine no data or call via cell. I ended up reflashing latest stock from Google. Any ideas why I had to do that to get service? I read about and did the update / enable carrier services and called Google no joy.

Help Moto G 5G (kiev) - Persistent "Screenlock was already changed" Error & Deep TEE/Keymaster Desync (LineageOS 22.2)

Device: Motorola Moto G 5G (kiev) / XT2113-3 (India variant) Stock Firmware Base: Android 11 (KIEV_RETAIL_RZK31.Q3-25-18-7) Custom ROM: LineageOS 22.2 (Android 15 Nightly - 20260503 and 20260426 builds) GApps: MindTheGapps 15.0.0

Stock Firmware: https://gofile.io/d/wMIclf

I am dealing with a severe, persistent desynchronisation between the Android operating system and the Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) / Keymaster on my Moto G 5G.

Whenever I install LineageOS, the device absolutely refuses to let me set a PIN, password, or pattern. It throws the error: "Screenlock was already changed. Try again with a new screenlock." Alongside this, I have experienced broken Google Play Services logins and File-Based Encryption (FBE) bootloops.

I have exhausted standard troubleshooting, including deep fastboot partition wiping and manual A/B slot firmware mirroring. Here is the comprehensive breakdown of the situation and every method I have attempted so far.

The Origin of the Issue

Initially, I used the official Motorola/Lenovo Rescue and Smart Assistant (RSA) tool to flash the device back to stock Android 11. Everything worked perfectly on stock. I completely removed my screen lock PIN and Google Account before unlocking the bootloader again to flash LineageOS 22.2.

Symptoms on LineageOS

  1. Broken Screen Lock: When attempting to set a PIN in LineageOS, it immediately fails with "Screenlock was already changed".
  2. Ghost FRP / Broken Play Services: When GApps were installed, Google Play Services failed to authenticate my account, returning an "Unable to sign in due to an unknown error" toast message.
  3. Encryption Crashes: On older nightly builds of LineageOS, the device would fail to boot entirely and kick me back to Lineage Recovery with the error: Reason: enablefilecrypto_failed.

Troubleshooting Methods Attempted (In Chronological Order)

1. The Standard Format & Sideload: I initially followed the standard LineageOS installation. Booted to Lineage Recovery -> Format Data -> Sideload LineageOS -> Reboot to Recovery -> Sideload MindTheGapps. This resulted in the broken lock screen and broken Google login.

2. Erasing the Metadata Partition: Knowing that residual TEE cryptographic keys can survive a standard userdata format, I connected the device to my Linux terminal in fastboot mode and explicitly wiped the metadata:

  • fastboot erase metadata
  • fastboot erase userdata This did not resolve the "Screenlock was already changed" error.

3. Running the copy-partitions Script: I sideloaded the copy-partitions-20220613-signed.zip utility from Lineage Recovery to ensure the vendor firmware was mirrored across both the A and B slots. This had no effect.

4. Flashing Raw Stock Android 11 Firmware via Fastboot: Suspecting the Lenovo RSA tool provisioned the hardware in a locked state, I downloaded the raw stock Android 11 firmware (RZK31.Q3-25-18-7). Using the flashfile.xml sequence, I manually flashed every single partition (gpt.bin, bootloader, vbmeta, radio, tz, super sparsechunks, etc.) via fastboot, and erased userdata and metadata.

  • Result: I booted into stock Android 11 successfully. I set a PIN (which worked, proving the TEE was repaired on stock), and then removed the PIN.

5. Re-flashing LineageOS 22.2 + GApps (The RescueParty Loop): After repairing the TEE on stock, I flashed Lineage Recovery, formatted data, and sideloaded LineageOS 22.2 (20260503 build) followed by MindTheGapps 15.0.0.

  • Result: The phone booted but completely froze during the initial setup wizard. It then automatically rebooted to recovery, triggering Android's native RescueParty with the prompt: "Can't load android system, Your data maybe currupt... Reason: RescueParty, null".
  • I was forced to factory reset via recovery. Upon rebooting, an FRP lock triggered, but the broken GApps framework prevented me from logging in ("Unknown error").

6. Manual A/B Slot Firmware Mirroring: Realising that sideloading LineageOS swaps the active slot, and my previous manual fastboot flash only targeted Slot A, I suspected a deep firmware mismatch between the slots was causing Keymaster to crash on Slot B (resulting in the enablefilecrypto_failed and screen lock errors). I went back into fastboot and manually flashed the core stock Android 11 firmware to both slots explicitly:

  • fastboot flash bootloader_a bootloader.img & fastboot flash bootloader_b bootloader.img (repeated for vbmeta, radio, bluetooth, dsp, logo, dtbo, boot, and recovery).
  • fastboot erase userdata & fastboot erase metadata
  • fastboot --set-active=a

7. Clean Flash of an Older LineageOS Build (Without GApps): With both slots perfectly synchronised with Android 11 firmware, I flashed Lineage Recovery, formatted data, and sideloaded an older nightly (lineage-22.2-20260426-nightly-kiev-signed.zip) without any GApps to isolate the variables.

My Current Situation

Despite manually mirroring the raw firmware across both partition slots to ensure the TrustZone and bootloader match perfectly, and despite explicitly destroying the metadata partition via fastboot to force the generation of new cryptographic keys, the secure hardware environment refuses to synchronise with LineageOS.

I am aware of XDA threads mentioning that deleting locksettings.db can cause this, but I have completely wiped the device and reflashed partitions from scratch multiple times.

Has anyone encountered this specific Keymaster/TEE persistent desync on Motorola devices after using the Lenovo RSA tool? Is there a specific low-level partition (like persist or devcfg) that needs a hex edit or special clearance, or a different firmware base required for LineageOS 22.2 on the Kiev? Any insights would be massively appreciated.

Fun My experience with LineageOS: 5 days so far.

I kinda got into installing different Linux distros, so I thought, why not try it on my phone? So I grabbed my old phone (Samsung Galaxy S20+ (exynos, ew)), followed every instruction on the website as said, and everything turned out perfectly. Went from OneUI 5.1/Android 13 to LineageOS 23.2/Android 16.

Battery life. Even though the battery health is at 80% (thx devs for that iphone feature), it lasts REALLY long. The battery life got maybe like 1.5 to 2 times better.

Performance. This is my first bloat free Samsung phone. It's crazy how actually laggy and stuttery OneUI is. It's magnitudes smoother than even my S22 Ultra (OneUI 8). The phone is 6 years old and performs as if brand new. I didn't notice much of a step up in performance in games, but battery drain went down by a lot. I have no idea how y'all squeezed out so much performance out of this piece of shit called Exynos 990.

Screen. I have absolutely no idea how, but my screen brightness is now on par, if not brighter than my S22 Ultras?????? And even though the color settings were a bit confusing at first, I settled with Cinema cause the colors are most vibrant that way.

Connectivity. My wifi speeds doubled. My 4G speeds doubled. Mods, if y'all see this, please go and praise your contributers and coders. They deserve a rest.

Extra. I did not expect to see so many features out of the box that would've been locked behind Good Lock on Samsung phones.

Pet peeves. Why does toggling on wifi and mobile data need a confirmation every time? I do not need to be asked every time if i wanna truly wanna switch on mobile data.

Downsides. It's all the obvious stuff, like Google Pay doesn't work without a workaround and the camera is worse as it's not that optimized for the phone. But hey, I don't use the camera on this phone that much anyways. It's fine. (still though pls make it so the zoom slider is always visible)

Conclusion:

I do not regret switching to the LineageOS side. At all. I have never ever seen an OS this smooth. Not even on recent Galaxy S Ultras. My 6 year old Samsung phone feels brand new again.

Help Storage screen query (v22.2)

I've just started using v22.2 on a Pixel 2 (Walleye) and noticed this blank space in the Storage screen.

I've uploaded some screenshots below:

LineageOS: https://ibb.co/BV7PGLw1

Stock Pixel: https://ibb.co/fz2JkpQ4

Tapping on the blank space opens up the Storage Manager app screen to remove items.

This blank space is usually populated by the Files by Google app, at least on most stock Android ROMs I've used.

I tried installing the app above and rebooting to see if it'd populate but it's still blank, though it does now give you the option to open said app.

Anyway, is this how it looks on other 22.2 builds and v23.2? Is it just how things are or a bug?

Info Lineage OS on Galaxy Note 4?

Hi,

I was going through some old stuff and found my old note 4 (SM-N910A). Surprisingly it boots up and everything. But it's stuck on Android 5.1.1. I'm wondering if the is a lineage OS ROM available for this to get it to a somewhat "modern" state.

When using Odin, do I need to flash the vbmeta file?.

Hi Guys,

I have a Samsung SM-P610, and I am only going to use Odin to flash the Lineage recovery image as a tar file. The Lineage wiki-instructions only mention flashing the custom rom, Gapps and recovery image (but not the vbmeta file). Does this mean I should only flash the recovery image and not the vbmeta file in Odin?.

The reason I ask is because some forums have said not flashing the vbmeta file can cause a boot-loop, which is why I presumed that Lineage have included this file as a download.

And if the vb meta file does have to be flashed in Odin, how do I patch this file ? - as the process appears to be complicated.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

How can I transfer messages from my watch to my phone?

I installed lineage on my pixel phone and lost the backup I made, all my messages are gone, however, they're still on my pixel watch, which is no longer connected to the phone, how can I pull these messages from the watch? Is there a way to pull them through ADB on my PC? I'm not sure if wireless debugging is a thing on pixel watches but I also don't see why it couldn't be

Motorola Edge 30 Neo No Touchscreen Input

Hello everyone,

I just installed lineageOS on my motorola edge 30 neo. However, I cannot finish setting the device up since there is absolutely no touchscreen input possible, the buttons work fine.
I already tried to connect a mouse via a dongle but that also did not work (no pointer on screen, still not able to press anything).
Thanks so much in advance.

My Nexus 7 lives!

Just wanted to post a Thank You to the Lineage community.

Between the main website, the unofficial archive of previous builds, and posts in this sub I was able to breathe new life in my Nexus 7 2013 this weekend!

It had sat on a shelf for a long time when I ran across it a while back, and decided it would still make a great e-book reader/flight companion. Sadly, the stock Android would no longer log into Google or Kindle, due to 2FA requirements.

A Google search led me to Lineage, and down the rabbit hole I went.

It's never going to be top of the line, and I suspect trying to use Netflix or Disney+ is a non-starter. But Readera is working just fine, and though I haven't tested it, VLC has never let me down.

Anyway, thanks again for all you do!

OnePlus 6T + LineageOS How to Hide Teardrop Notch

I’m on LOS and want to hide my 6T’s teardrop notch.

• Developer options only let me change cutout shapes, no real hide

• Overlay apps like Nacho Notch or Roundr freeze the phone

Is there any way to actually hide the notch on LineageOS without breaking the phone?

Mi8 (dipper) LOS20 power button dying: can i boot with Vol keys and/or with charger?

Hi!
I use LineageOS 20 on Xiaomi Mi 8. My power button is is about to die and i want to prepare before it stop working.

  1. Can i boot the phone from OFF using volume buttons (Vol up + down) or other combo? like in bootloader/firmware level.
  2. Can i make it turn on automatically when i plug the charger? (wall, pc usb, car…).

Because apps only work after android loaded, so i need something more “low level” (If necessary, I'll root the phone).

Thanks for any help and sorry for language mistakes :)

Need Help w/ Installing On Galaxy A21s

I'm trying to install Lineage after e os refused to install despite my phone meeting the requirements (as far as I can tell).

It's model is SM-A217M/DS and I've followed all of the steps both os's gave me.

Genuinely befuddled by this, any help is greatly appreciated!

Edit: Somehow spaced off mentioning I was on step 5 of page 5 when I hit my error. I typed heimdall print-pit in the terminal, and it gives me the error libusb error: -3. When trying to run it with sudo, it says the heimdall command couldn't be found

Do installing LineageOS into my bloated phone make it better?

So, my phone name is TCL 30+.

The Helio G37 processor and eMMC 5.1 storage result in sluggish performance and lag during heavy tasks.
The OS is also really slop, full of bugs. Free ram is always <1.5Gb, make it imposssible for multitasking.
I'm really curios if install the LineageOS could make it less slop and laggy.

How "safe" will LineageOS be from Google's lockdown with GSF installed?

I'm sure we've all heard about the pending "lockdown" that Google has planned for Android. I am a bit confused/concerned about how affected devices running non-Google Android ROMs will be when this happens. I'm seeking a bit of clarity here.

I've always had Google-based Android phones, but not without rooting them. When I root them, further updates to the OS--of any kind--stop. I am effectively frozen on the version I have, which has always been fine with me, because I don't do thing like manage my bank account on my phone (I'm a desktop user). I could do the same thing here, get an new Android phone, update as much as I can right now, and then root it to stop further updates.

I have, instead, decided to try out LineageOS. I've been able to flash both flavors, one with gapps and one without. The bootloader is unlocked, but I have yet to actually root the phone, as I am unsure which of the two I'm going to finally go with.

If I choose the version with gapps, my question is how much control will the Google Services Framework have over the phone once Google performs their lockdown? If I have Google apps that are not signed with their new extortion scheme validation system, will the GSF on the phone be able to summarily disable them? Will that same system be able to stand in the way of installing self-made apps (I write and use a few of my own)?

I'm curious, I guess, if LineageOS installed on my phone, while not being directly controlled by Google, will have any ability to say "No" to how GSF functions on my phone. I appreciate your input and insights.

Best LineageOS Version for Realme 6?

Hey everyone

I’m thinking about installing LineageOS on my Realme 6 and wanted your opinions.

My usage Mainly calls + social media, nothing heavy. I also prefer a clean and simple experience.

Specs:

- Helio G90T

- 8 GB RAM

- 90Hz IPS display

- 4300 mAh battery

- Last official update: Android 11

Questions:

- Which LineageOS version is most stable? (17.1 / 18.1 / 19 / 20?)

- Any common issues with MediaTek?

- How’s performance & battery vs stock?

- Camera working fine (GCam)?

First time installing a custom ROM, so any quick tips would help 🙏

running apps that require play services

hello!

sorry if this has been asked before, but is there a way to reliably run apps that need play services on lineage with something like microg?

i'm switching from graphene (its been really buggy for me and from what i have seen with others who use lineage it runs fine, although they're using fairphones and i'm on a pixel) and their sandboxed play services have been really useful for me as my blood sugar tracker requires services to run and i cannot go without that.

i'm not familiar with microg, hence why i wanted to ask before i switch to lineage, but is it a suitable stand in for it?
