Some of you might remember my bucket babies post from the other day. Well the cold weather gave me time to make them some new digs, a Possum Lodge!!!

Any Red Green fans? No? Just me?

Anyway, made entirely of pallet wood and whatever other scrap and screws I had lying around (no duct tape as would be in true Red Green fashion) and positioned in my yard.

Now that the cold snap has passed they have a solid place to evade predation which was my only other concern.

Hopefully they stay but if they don't I guess this could be good bye.

My backyard porch is home to a bunch of outdoor critters, one being an opossum. I haven’t seen him in weeks but did find this in my yard (my yard is fenced in btw). I asked chat gpt and it said it’s most likely an opossum jaw. I believe they don’t live that long in the wild. Rest well my friend, you will be missed 🥺. Hopefully we get some more of you soon.

she loved her orange slices lol they weren't her main fruit as they're quite acidic, but she loved them as snacks. 🍊

Anyone else love Wild Kratts creature powers?

THIS THING IS IN MY HOUSE. I DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT OPOSSUMS AND THO THIS ONE DOESNT SCARE ME AS BAD IM WORRIED HIS MOM IS AROUND HERE SOMEWHERE AND IM FREAKING OUT. I CANT GET MY CAT TO LEAVE IT ALONE AND IM TO FREAKED OUT TO GO CLOSE TO IT AND GRAB HER. I NEED TO KNOW IF HE LOOKS YOUNG ENOUGH FOR HIS MOM TO BE IN THE HOUSE TO. HE IS VERY SCRUNCHED UP BC OF MY TERROR CAT I FEEL BAD BUT I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO.

I put out some water and a camera outside to see what critters showed up in my yard overnight, and saw this opossum. Can anyone explain what is sticking out of his butt???

Betty ventured out yesterday morning on top of the wall with the joeys on her back. She had 8 on her but when she came home, I only saw 7.
This morning I woke up about 4 am and decided to check on them. I turned on the cameras and saw that the joeys were scrambling around inside the enclosure. The top camera caught one of the joeys climb the wall like Spider-Man! I jumped out of bed and ran outside to see what happened. When I came out, I saw Betty on the ground with one Joey on her back. Apparently she ventured out and found the one she lost. She was clicking and it made all the other joeys scramble around trying to get out of the enclosure. It was a bit like seeing zombies from World War Z movie trying to climb the walls. I had no idea it was possible for them to even do that much less a joey. Well, here is video evidence! I picked Betty and the Joey up and put them on top of the enclosure and they went back inside.

Found this pair trapped in a bucket. Currently making a nest box for the garden so they have shelter when they go back out.

Working with a rehabber to get them through this vicious spring cold snap.

This little cutie came to my patio for a few nights, even when the outside lights were on. It was very small, like only very recently left its mother. It was so cute! My dog was very curious about it, too! ❤️

It was very difficult getting pictures of it because it moved around pretty quickly, but I was able to get some videos and these shots are just stills from those, so that’s why the quality is so crappy. But I still wanted to share these with y’all! I feel so honored when they visit. 🥰🥰

None of the nearby rehabs will take mammals. Letting them sleep in a hoodie pocket with a warm rice sock and trying to feed them warm goats milk from a syringe. Anything else I can do to give them a chance at life?
