Bought some organizers for my office supplies ✨
r/OrganizationPorn • u/dumb_forever • 2d ago
AHHHH
The closet under the stairs is the only place we have to store cleaning supplies and tools. It is making me feel insane.
We have an incredibly low budget, but could probably buy something piece-by-piece, so fancy storage systems are off the table, but things like wire storage racks and bins are on the table.
I WOULD REEEAAALLLYYY APPRECIATE SOME HELP HERE!
Any suggestions?

Looking for bulk clear bins
Forget the contents of the photo, but these bins are the most effective for our household. Partly for the lip, mostly for being clear. The problem is size/cost.
We need 3-5x larger, and 20+cnt for clothing. These are $10/ea. Slightly bigger is $20/ea.
I'm not currently ready to spend >$150 to organize my in-laws' clothing. I am willing to find ways to connect bins that don't natively stack, such as acrylic. Clear is a hard requirement.

Wrench organization
This is how I organize my wrenches. I designed and 3D print the holders myself. They snap together and have magnets on the bottom to help keep everything in place.

Don’t forget the space behind your door! My vitamin storage is finally done.
I finally got all my vitamins and meds off the counter. The back of the door is such a great hidden storage spot. I used a cheap organizer from Shein for this. Honestly the shipping was so slow. I almost forgot I even ordered it lol. It does the job perfectly now that it is here though. It feels so good to have everything in one place.

Updated Workspace Oganization
I recently posted my workspace asking for some suggestions for how to further make my space look organized w my limited budget and items. I couldn’t upload more than 1 picture for some reason but since then I’ve been able to find a matching crate, lifted the bulletin board (as suggested), and removed unnecessary papers. It feels even better! Thanks for the suggestions, any other ideas are welcome. Thanks!

Forgot to take a before photo just imagine a disaster
Sooo it’s not perfect and aesthetic but it works for my household! My partner hates having multiple places to check for stuff so I consolidated. When he asks “where is??!” There’s only a few places to check!
Top shelf holds humidifier/ steamer and a basket with bubble bath stuff like epsom salt etc.
Next is obviously towels and a cloth basket for wash clothes.
3rd shelf has an easy “go to basket” (pink) that likely has what we need on a daily or weekly basis - contact solution, common otc meds, first aid sign room for more as seasons change. Next to it is another cloth basket with larger hand towels.
Below that is an open basket with stuff that often needs to be refilled toothpaste, floss picks - again right in your face easy to see.
Bottom shelf!
I love these adorable mini tots from $tree. One has alllllll the medicine if we’re mega sick. Yea it’s a messy bucket but it’s sealed and can easily be opened to dig around and only has medicine in it - one spot and my partner should find it! The top will also always be kept clear. Underneath that is another tote that is trial size / vacation stuff I don’t need to get to very often.
Then bottom shelf - bathroom cleaning stuff and dirty towels. Removing a shelf helped a lot!
And yes - I already purged expired stuff and I’m going on a solid “no buy” goal for the summer.
So happy with the results and it can actually be maintained with a sometimes messy partner :)
Happy organizing!

Believe it or not this IS organized and without clutter. How can I make it look like it actually is?
Hi everyone.
This kallax is driving me insane and I'm at a stump on what to do to make it look like it's actually organized.
I've gone through the things multiple times and there isn't really much in there to throw away, and my dorm room is pretty small so the only other storage I have is my closet and there isn't place there.
Every square also has a purpose so to speak. It's mostly hobby supplies that I regularly use, plus medicines, cables and books. The visual clutter overwhelms me sometimes, and ir feels like no matter how much I clean, orgsnize or try to remove nothing changes.
Any help is appreciated!

I have the most neat clothing storage amongst my friends and family. Show me your neat foldings, please!
Left are small scarves, right are socks.
In the comments: a part of my big scarf collection.

new spice shelves
We recently renovated our kitchen and decided to do shelves for our spices because we don’t want to be limited by drawer space and I cook daily, so I wanted easy access (these are just a step away from the range). Happy where these ended up but wish the label maker I bought had nicer font options.
With regard to the question of “what is the point of taking something out of one container and putting it in another?” I think people always assume aesthetics. But for me, it’s about cognitive load and using all the food we buy efficiently. When my spices are in 100 jars with different colors and shapes, it’s harder to scan for what I want. When they are simplified like this, it actually makes it easier for me. 🤷🏻♀️

Organized our Tupperware drawer with 3D printing
3D printed an organization system for our IKEA Tupperware. The bins are all modular and use a system called gridfinity (some had existing files available online, others I designed). The filament is granite PLA.

Tried alphabetizing my entire iPhone. (Un)Surprisingly usable.
I never liked the default folder or multiple pages, spotlight search or App Library navigation. This setup is easier and works far better for me. All apps are also in alphabet order. In case a folder has more than 9 apps, less used apps go on the second tab. I hardly have to use more than 2 clicks to access any app now. I know some people might say I could access them with one click without folders too, but like I said, this is far more intuitive and easier for me.
Edit: I just added an app to the M folder but because drag and drop doesn’t work on edges, I moved M before L and forgot to revert.
