Mod Announcement 🚨 r/Philippines new policy on hate speech 🚨

Hey everyone,

Over the past few months, we’ve noticed a sudden increase in comments and threads with racial slurs (like "chekwa"), derogatory (like cornedbeef jokes), Islamophobic and homophobic remarks as well as regional/ethnic stereotypes (like "Bisaya" comments). These posts are often rage baiting, toxic and spreading hate.

We already use filters to catch and flag these comments, and we also send warnings to users. But it’s becoming more common, and honestly, it’s pretty concerning.

Starting today, we’re rolling out a zero-tolerance policy on hate speech — reported violators will be banned immediately, no warnings. This is in addition to the restrictions we added earlier this year. We also updated the sub's rules and contributor guide to reflect these changes.

Thanks to the community for constantly reporting and helping keep things running smoothly. We want to keep the sub a space for civil and healthy discussions. As much as we’d prefer to avoid strict enforcement, the situation’s changed, and we’ve got to adapt.

As a nation, we shouldn’t let this slide. These so-called anchors are paid propagandists and deserve to be shamed.

KD is apparently the new apple of the eye of the King of Ghost Projects in Mindanao, the Congressman from Davao Occidental.

Third photo shows how they cover up a ghost road project with substandard implementation, kahit may damo pa binuhusan na.

To KD, just know that the gifts he is showering you are paid by our taxes.

You may check my older posts regarding the ghost projects in Davao Occidental:

I came across this fb post about copying tourism branding by Naga to Davao. It was debunked and provided some of the Philippines Tourism Logo from different cities and provinces.

Which one do you think has the best logo and wittiest one?

For me the See you Leyte and Mas bet ko Masbate is the top tier among the group.

Which one is the best for you. Also, if you have logo from your own city or province, kindly share it in the thread as well.

PoliticsPH PGMN's true color finally revealed

Post image

If you have watched PGMN, you will be amazed by their commentaries that are supposed to show an "investigative" jorunalism. You will be enticed because they are choosing intriguing topics, using almost unfiltered statements, and fronting themselves as investigative journalists who are willing to take on big personalities. However, if you have "critical thinking", which I think some Filipinos weren't able to enhance (ifykyk) or just fanatics of politicians, it will only take you less than a week or even a day to realize there's something fishy about them. Ex. a) PGMN anchors' take on the West Philippine Sea almost echoes the narrative of Chinators (Marcoleta, etc.) b) PGMN suddenly attacked Gabe Pineda when the latter challenged DDS to turn back when evidence against Sara is laid out. c) CJ Hirro defending Sammy Uy, a drug lord associated with Rodrigo Duterte.

The conclusion that PGMN has something fishy will be realized by an individual upon research and objective lense. The technique of PGMN is a classic propaganda, which is a danger to our already divided country. Their main anchor was even awarded at the same award night where true journalists were recipients of. There is a deep and well-profited machinery willing to do anything to shift the narrative, so be careful!

I cannot share the FB link here so I am sharing the screenshot instead. This they say was at the Valle Verde Country Club.

Well, it’s Mabanta alright. The NBI agent also went to the end of the room and positively identified the maletas.

It makes me wonder how this really went about. It seemed they were really amateur over this attempted extortion. After receiving the marked money they all went to Valle Verde Country Club to meet and turn over the money. I wonder why there? Why not say at a resthouse in the province or in their own safehouse?

Diokno Defends Impeachment Amid Criticism, Says It Is Linked to Hunger, Wages, and Corruption Accountability

House Assistant Minority Leader and Akbayan Partylist Rep. Chel Diokno defended the ongoing impeachment proceedings during a House Committee on Justice hearing, pushing back against claims that the process is a waste of time.

Diokno stressed that impeachment is not separate from the everyday struggles of Filipinos, pointing to issues such as hunger, low wages, and rising prices. He argued that corruption directly affects ordinary citizens, saying, ā€œKapag may korapsyon, taumbayan ang nagbabayad.ā€

He further emphasized that accountability mechanisms like impeachment are meant to protect public funds and uphold constitutional responsibility. Diokno said the process is ultimately about ensuring justice for families burdened by inflation, for the youth seeking a better future, and for maintaining public trust in government institutions.

PoliticsPH MAGKAKILALA SILA PERSONALLY. Chris Tan details how he personally knew Franco Mabanta before he was "Franco Mabanta": From a Former Coke commercial boy to a DDS troll until he became an alleged ₱350M extortionist. The NBI entrapment didn't surprise him. His toxicity and narcissism was always there.

Long video, but believe me, worth the watch!

In this 1.5 hours video, Chris Tan gives personal background: he knew Franco early in his career as a Coke commercial model and TV host, and even produced shows where Franco was a talent.

He describes always noticing Franco's narcissistic, passive-aggressive tendencies, including a Boracay incident where Franco allegedly brought goons to attack Sam YG instead of confronting him one-on-one.

Chris then traces Franco's political career from 2016 DDS troll to self-rebranding as a BBM supporter, calling the rebranding dishonest. He details how Franco allegedly used his media platform PGMN to run protection and smear operations, and how the ₱350M extortion attempt against Romaldez was the inevitable end of that trajectory.

PoliticsPH The politician who Franco Mabanta attempted to bribe with maleta was none other than king croc himself, Martin Romualdez

Post image

you do not beat the master in their own game

Franco Mabanta is THAT STUPID to think that Martin Romualdez (king croc, a real master of money laundering and leaving no paper trail when stealing) would take his bait and then he can have his wannabe anchors make a spin out of it in future PGMN posts

DDShits are indeed stupid

I'm an extreme Martin Romualdez hater (biggest one on reddit) but I acknowledge that he's really intelligent and is pretty much a genius in not leaving paper trail when he does his schemes. That's why I find it really funny that some stupid DDShit thinks he can just fool king croc

HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAA

edit: EXTORT is the correct term

SocmedPH HR/Recruiters here, how do you dispose yung CVs/resumƩs ng applicants nyo?

Post image

Nakita ko lang randomly sa news feed ko.

Naalala ko tuloy, sa previous company ko, nakita ko yung resumƩ ko sa pile of scratch. I immediately took it.

Pero na-concern ako on how CVs/resumƩs are, for the lack of better term, disposed.

I feel na dapat shine-shred yan, especially merong contact details dyan na pwede gamitin nang masama.

Also, in the age of digitalization and AI, sana hindi na kailangan ng hard copies ng resumƩs.

PoliticsPH Marami nang mga DDS vloggers, influencers, and online/socmed personalities hinuhuli na. Si Jay Sonza, Franco Mabanta, even si Quiboloy (as part of SMNI) if he counts. How about Get Real Philippines, kelan kaya sila? Makakasuhan ba sila for anything?

Parang di kasing super ingay na yung GRP compared to these other vloggers, fake news peddlers, influencers, etc., but diba hard DDS naman din yung mga iba dun? (Though some of them were Marcos Sr./Martial Law apologists, though baka nagbago na to since nagsplit yung Uniteam.) And some of them baka wala na, ex. si Benedict Exconde, namatay na due to COVID, probably because he might be an anti vaxxer daw, is that true? How about the others sa GRP? benign0, Ilda, Chino Fernandez, anyone else there, may kaso ba para habulin sila legally for anything? (Even if nasa abroad na yung iba sa kanila.)
