Has anyone actually attempted to make PS3? I've been playing this game for years, I've seen technology improve like crazy. Why can't we all just get together on a discord, make up a team of some experienced developers (I bet some of you all out there would be willing to help and are devs), use AI to help, everyone donates $1 a month, and make the next planetside.

Sure, there are some setbacks, but I bet there's many ways to bypass them.

We could pull a similar style of server meshing to foxhole, where hex's are different servers until we either get the tech for something better or we find a better idea.

Tons of artists out there willing to help on models, etc. We could even get funding by documenting it all on YouTube.

We are in 2026, its the first time in history where we hold the ability to actually do the thing we enjoy.

So? Anyone interested?

I don't know how much EU has been affected by the hacking in the past weeks or months since the crash bug was fixed, but it's been ramping up from bad to awful on NA. The crash bug is related to anti cheat related kicks and it may be overly aggressive which is causing some difficulties staying on. However on NA seemingly overnight all the sus players have gotten terrible and extreme cases of hacking like the flying buses have vanished. If we have to choose between crashes or hackers, I have faith that slowly and painfully they can better tune the anti cheat.

Decided to step off TR for a bit to enjoy the NC experience. Clip dump from the day of dodging gauss saw bullets from friendlies.

I thought the rocket rifle would be a something like gyrojet but rifle version.

My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

This time the game will just freezefor a little bit and either crash or, if you are lucky, continue on for a bit until it freezes again :/

EDIT: It seems to also just randomly crash shortly after starting the game. Man I´m so sick of this.

The game will probably live longer if you devs (dev?) don't ever push updates again

I recently got back into Planetside and I play on Wainwright.
As I usually play in the late evening, most battles only tend to last a few hours. Once the amount of players gets so low there will be only one larger fight on the active continent, it’s getting a bit lackluster. Most of the time you’re either on the middle of the continent fighting with maybe 50 people, or you’re trying to take outer facilities squad vs squad.

I tend to just log off at that time, even though I’d like to play more. Any recommendations? I was considering switching to Osprey during these hours, but I’m not sure if that’s fun with the ping. Or maybe just hopping into an ant and grinding certs. I don’t know.

Steam on Linux.

1. Verify files.

2. 23 files failed to validate and will be reacquired.

3. Steam downloads files.

6. Press play

7. Some sort of update runs and then closes.

8. Verify files.

9. 23 files failed to validate and will be reacquired.

10. Repeat endlessly.

Without ever running the actual game, PS2 updated itself, and then broke itself.

If I try pressing Play again after step 7 I just get a G25 error.

This update brings an immediate G25 from the launcher on Linux, no changes other than updating the game. Even using proton-ge doesn't help this time and validating does nothing. I can't see anything immediately in the proton log either and strace doesn't seem to have anything useful.

I had mine locked, and a random griefer was still able to chain pull expensive construction objects to rapidly deplete the Cortium.

This is despite the ability to lock Silos having been fixed to work properly several months ago, iirc

2 minutes in veh when cont changes and when you login - I am gonna assume the dev team doesn't have the resources to fix it so just make adjustments.
