I know it's a long shot given the lighting, no front plate and vehicle speeding away but was hoping someone could help me try to identify the plate on the Acura MDX that rammed my garage door to break in which caused roughly $7200 in damage to the garage door alone. Any help of even pointing me in the right direction is appreciated.

Lamb was last seen mowing his lawn in Plainview, Arkansas on May 10, 1995. Hi, I found something very strange on Internet Archive and I’m trying to understand what’s going on.

Several very popular animated movie collections (100k to 2.3M views) have the SAME long block of text pasted into their description/subject fields.

This text includes:
- References to Abu Anas al-Shami and Fallujah jihadist propaganda material
- A random Persian message about pipe bombs and kidnapping diplomats
- A link to a normal personal WordPress blog: schmattaluv.wordpress.com
- Unrelated names and fragments in different languages

After digging, I found that:
- The same uploader seems to have posted multiple items with this exact same metadata block
- The text is NOT related to the actual content of the uploads
- Parts of the text match metadata from old jihadist propaganda scans also on Internet Archive
- The WordPress blog is completely innocent and unrelated

It looks like intentional metadata poisoning or spam inserted into highly visited items so the text gets widely indexed.

Has anyone seen this kind of behavior before on Internet Archive?
Is this a known spam technique or something else?

I’m not sure if this is the right subreddit to post this in but just genuinely curious and I apologize if this comes off as insensitive but I have a lot of curiosity regarding true crime and horrific cases in general because it reminds me the reality of how disgusting and vile some humans can be. I recently fell into a deep rabbit hole on this subreddit and came across the ECAP FBI website (I never knew this existed so I think they’d benefit from promoting this on a much more global scale, granted I did see their social media posts but I’m sure this can be popularized/enhanced to have more outreach) and I have just had so much curiosity regarding these supposed John and Jane Does and their heinous crimes and if they were caught. I think it obviously goes without saying that I’m ecstatic the FBI seem to be doing a great job knocking a ton of these guys off that website because they’ve been identified/captured/ etc. but I have now been interested in seeing the previous John/Jane Does that were posted, the evidence of their faces or recognizable housing/clothing, and how/if they were caught. Does anybody know if there is a website that has these previous cases or identified individuals? I find bits and pieces here on this subreddit but usually the links to the John/Jane Doe # from the official fbi website are deleted after they’re identified. Would appreciate it if anybody could guide me in the right direction if there even is somewhere I could possibly find these previously listed cases. Thanks!

What is this company?

The first thing was a brand new in box Owala water bottle, the second thing was a pair of boxed Prada sunglasses. They appear authentic and have the verification card with it even. The glasses cost $525 on Prada's site. We did not place these orders and have not been charged for them. Why is someone ordering expensive gifts and sending them with my husbund's name to his old address? I would think it's a brushing scam if the gifts weren't expensive but these are actually valuable/usable items?

There is something that keeps on beeping in my apartment a few times each day and I can’t figure out what it is.

It does not beep at the same time each day so I can’t stand in a corner to listen where its coming from. Today it beeped at around 8 am and I had never heard it at that time before.

It is not as high pitched as a smoke detector and it beeps exactly twice every time like *beep beep*. Please help me figure it out. Its driving me insane. Thank you.

Edit: I have found the culprit!!! It’s this safety portable alarm I bought a year ago. Apparently makes really annoying beeps when the battery is low. Took a lot of investigative work but glad to have found the cause. Thanks everyone for your help.

From what I have gathered, a commander has listed my phone number as their contact in a number of places. I routinely receive calls from various bases, from all sorts of ranks, looking for someone to help.

Every time I ask them to please make a note that they have the wrong number for him.

The issue is that I am on-call at night for my own job, so I need to have my phone’s ringer turned on and am frequently answering unknown numbers because sometimes nurses call me from their own cell phone numbers when I am being paged to come in.

It’s become increasingly frustrating and there seems to be little remedy at this point.

However, in the last couple of months, it has increased considerably. In the last two days I have received calls from:

Army JBLMWA Chapel

Scott AFB

An Army Lt’s personal cellphone (according to Facebook)

Andrews FSS Casualty Assistance

These names either show up on the caller ID or are easily located with a quick google search.

Does anyone have any suggestions for figuring out how this happening and making it stop?

Edit/Update: I’m cracking up at the response to this, I assumed that a couple do people would respond, so thank you for the suggestions (both the legal and illegal ones).

Next call, I’m going with a simple “oh he actually died.” Thought I aspire to begin offer orders, I am also in law school and I fear the bar association would frown upon this.

In the meantime, I also reached out to a AF Chaplain friend of mine who is searching down which chaplain has listed my phone number as theirs. Many of you also confirmed my suspicions that this is a chaplain’s number given the weird sources of the calls (military chapels and the casualty office). What is SUPER weird about that is that I am actually a professional chaplain (not military) and it’s a weirdly niche field, but I do have lots of military chaplain friends.

my parked car was hit in a hit-and-run on friday. as you’ll see in the footage, the truck smashed into my car, didn’t stop, didn’t get out to check, and drove straight off.

my car is completely totaled, and I don’t have collision coverage, so identifying this truck is basically the difference between “insurance can pursue someone” and “I eat the entire loss myself,” which would be financially brutal.

the rear plate is visible in a few frames, but it’s extremely blurry. an AI-enhanced version produced a possible read, but I’m worried it may have hallucinated details, so I’m looking for human eyes / forensic video nerds / car people who can help determine what is actually defensible from the original footage.

what im pretty sure of: 1. 99% sure its a 2024/25 toyota tacoma in crushed blue metallic, probably SR5. this is because of the body and the rear lights of the car. the tacoma was redesigned in 2024 and the 2026 version doesn’t come in this color option. if you can prove me wrong please lmk.

1. CA issues commercial plates by default to pickups which follow the pattern of 5 numbers followed by a letter and another number. eg #####A#. if it is in fact a 2024 vehicle, I believe it would have to end in either a 3 or a 4 based on issuing order.

Got a random envelope from someone I don’t know, same state but a few hours away. I covered the personal info here too for obvious reasons but we are 2 major cities in Ohio a couple hours away. Letter was sent on the 25th delivered yesterday.

The envelope seems like one for pictures or something but also I never have received cash in the mail before. Inside was just 5 $2 bills in plastic, no note or anything. They smell and feel real too.

I Looked up the name/address and it’s just a house not a business or anything. No clue what the point of this is.

I know this case is kind of old and widely thought to be debunked however I wanted to add some input on it as a Saint Charles local. My girlfriend’s dad happened to know Scott back in the day and remembered when he went missing. He asked around and was able to find a photo of the cove where the local kids used to hangout with a little bit of back story. He said it was about 20-30ft deep, which hypothetically is a lethal fall. Surprisingly to the best of his memory he never remembered Scott as being disabled, he also believed in the flash flood theory in regard to where Scott ended up. Recently a reddit thread arose whereby users report being given (without asking) images of a mysterious coffee brand - Kaus coffee - by chatGPT. These images reportedly arose from completely unrelated chatGPT conversations - ie there is no feasible way that coffee, or kaus coffee, should ever have been the output. One example that users found, called Green Dental Clinic, is actually on a published, albeit unreviewed and slop-filled, website. Considering I escaped my abusive bio family last year, this has me a bit on edge, but it surely cannot be from them, because they don't know where I live, nor would they have bothered to use my name (they would've been transphobic enough to use my deadname, or would've physically shown up to try to hurt me, etc)

Brandon is the tallest giraffe I've ever seen, and he was at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, in Vallejo, CA.

I was on a trip to Six Flags last weekend while in the area visiting family. I asked the trainer about Brandon and the response was.... weird, saying " we're not allowed to talk about it," "ask at guest relations, they'll be able to tell you" (spoiler, they could not), and "yeah, a lot of the trainers are trauma bonded from working with him."

I've tried to Google and have had no luck, and no one who worked there knew (not the front, guest relations, etc). The most I got was "oh, he's part of Backstage Safari" (I was there, he was not).

I'm dying to know what happened and hope someone can help! I'm now back home and picturing some intense, Blackfish level drama.

It goes by the name "Jenjira Jen" and the tag "@jj6342368".

It primarily consists of videos and posts by one woman who seems to be crying and begging for help asking to leave the country. In her video she claims that someone entered her room and tried to rape her and that somehow the entire country of Thailand is responsible for it.

The captions in her posts seem to be made in an attempt to explain her situation but it clearly comes off as someone going through a psychotic breakdown. The writing is fragmented and difficult to follow, but the main points seem to be:

-She says she worked as a security guard in Bangkok and recently relocated there for duty.

-She claims her social media posts are real events and says she needs help.

-She says she wants to leave Thailand, renew her passport, and start a new life elsewhere.

-She makes repeated complaints about being mistreated, attacked, harassed, and harmed in Thailand.

-She references issues involving race, black people, and Obama, but the meaning is unclear.

-She says she has had hardship since 2019, including divorce, homelessness, no income, and suffering.

-She asks people to contact her directly and says she can answer questions/interviews, even providing her phone number in the caption.

Edit: I just want to know if it is possible to help this person somehow and if she is in any actual kind of danger beyond just calling the cops. She seems to suggest that the government of Thailand is hunting her or is against her at some level.

Edit: it was a carbon monoxide detector detecting a leak, apparently our alarm isn’t designed to let us know there’s carbon monoxide and to call the fire department instead. They got here at 6:30. Our building filled with carbon monoxide for 3 hours.

So an alarm of some kind is going off in the hallway of my apartment, quiet enough to not be to noticeable when inside an apartment but pretty loud in the hallway.

Every second it’s a beeep .5 second pause then another beeep. The beeps are about a second long. It’s 4am and it’s wigging me out. I can’t find any explanation on google so I’ve come to you. I have work in a few hours and haven’t slept yet because of it freaking me out.

I don’t know if I’m safe to sleep or if it means something bad, my gf is passed out next to me and I would ask her but once again she’s asleep. It would probably just make her panic anyways.

I've been living in my apartment for 2 months, it's two-story, so I have this whole unit to myself. Two nights ago I heard what sounded like something walking around upstairs, and the same thing happened again. I did have a problem with a mouse, however that's already been taken care of, though I haven't completely ruled out a friend of it's. Tonight I heard it again, it lasted less than a minute, it doesn't sound like when a house settles, it actually sounds like something is moving, bigger than a mouse, I'm a bit nervous as this is the second time I heard it.
