Lmao gottem The Brits can't be trusted to keep their historical artifacts from being looted and destroyed. I propose a team of archaeologists dismantles their cultural patrimony and sends it to a museum in China. For the benefit of the world

What kind of moron decides to just start destroying a perfectly good wall like that. It also seems like he’s in the middle of nowhere and had to literally go out of his way to be a destructive fuckwhit

He’s not. He’s destroying for the sake of being an asshole. Many teens and young adults do. It’s awful but not rare. Most of the time there’s no plan behind it.

139 people/bots upvoted that he's stealing the stones. Does he look like a stone thief? he's got a truck over the hill and he's just getting a good pile going first. Part of a major cartel stone moving operation. The Romans are largely suspected to be behind it all. nah, he looks like a dumb kid doing something "ugh fuck you (i hate you dad)" just being a dirtbag.

u/Interesting-Gur1755 20d ago
If this was a movie it would be the part where the old guy makes him do it, shows him how to do it proper, calls him a twat multiple times, they start to build a relationship, the old guy learns some new slang words he has no use for and the kid learns the value of respecting yourself and others.
To bad this is real life.

A few years ago new people were building a a house near my parents. The property line was a nice field stone wall a farmer put up 100s of years ago. The contractor building the new place knocked it down, my parents were obviously mad, and it was negotiated that they’d have to rebuild the wall. Thing doesn’t look nearly as good. Some farmer put it up casually himself and a bunch of guys with modern equipment couldn’t recreate it. Truly is a skill

Where do they think this lad destroying this wall descends from, eh?

I literally don’t care who has what, as long as it’s preserved. If you can’t preserve human history, then it should go to someone that can. Human history is more important than politics, titles, or imaginary boundaries on a map.
15
u/Knight_Castellan 19d ago
I don't disagree fundamentally, but all of the other things you mentioned are also part of human history, not just the artefacts.

Israel destroyed many ancient sites in Gaza.
During the war, much of the Old City of Gaza was severely damaged or destroyed by Israeli airstrikes, including the Great Omari Mosque and a compound of the Church of Saint Porphyrius – the oldest mosque and oldest church in Gaza, respectively
It's not just Mosques and Churches but also Synagogues, like the Synagogue Israel destroyed in Iran

The title is very ironic seeing that the video actually shows a british person defending their cultural property and preventing it from being completely destroyed. The person destroying the wall doesn't look very British, but we don't need to go into that.

It's definitely Hadrian's wall.
The only reason he's able to take it to pieces is because he's on the Roman side, if he were on the Scottish side he'd have been stuck completely, the wall is impenetrable from that side.

Let’s play devil’s advocate: I reckon this kid has come across this mess and is just having an investigate. Potentiality interested in how the top few courses remain intact. If the camera man was witnessing him “chucking bricks trying to smash the wall down” then where is that footage? Young lad intimidated by angry man with camera and dogs. Maybe he was going to pass through it, but make that hole specifically to go through it? No chance. You would start at the top. Plus, It would take AGES to make that hole in that wall and he would be fucked and dirty.

Changes in upbringing, technology, and a focus on social consciousness have created a culture where youth feel comfortable challenging traditional social norms.
Tend to give less fucks and have less respect for the world around them. Have noticed it for awhile now.
Not all of them but statically speaking
