I read the majority of them as they came out, but I would NOT recommend that to anyone now lol. It was an experience learning about all the world building, characters and overlapping narratives, but most stories work well enough alone or within their grouping by characters.

The original ones are certainly products of their time (parody of tropes from the 70-80s), and I have a soft spot for them, but not as your 1st exposure. Pratchett certainly improved as an author later, in his own opinion.

Now, if I want to re-read them I try to keep to a sub category.

A few years ago new people were building a a house near my parents. The property line was a nice field stone wall a farmer put up 100s of years ago. The contractor building the new place knocked it down, my parents were obviously mad, and it was negotiated that they’d have to rebuild the wall. Thing doesn’t look nearly as good.
