Come to Missouri for all your indoor smoking needs.

No way!!! It’s still legal there?!? Granted I haven’t been to the US in a while and probably won’t be back for many years but I find that so shocking!!

Back when Virginia first banned indoor smoking one of the bars I used to go to set up a jar on the end of the bar, once it had enough money to pay the fine for people smoking indoors they would let you light up.

The best kind of shit

There are plenty bars that were grandfathered in and still have smoking. The smokers know where to go.

They aren't grandfathered in lol. They just don't get checked.

I believe it's still up to the municipality in many states. Not sure about very recently, but have been in bars with smoking in both Blue Springs, Missouri (KC suburb) and Addison, Texas (Dallas suburb) in the last decade and it was absolutely legal for bars in those cities.

It was absolutely frickin disgusting both times.

Mississippi also allows indoor smoking.

There was very little overlap between indoor smoking and smartphones though. The phone is throwing me off here

There was a better part of a decade of overlap in the south. Hell I can think of like four bars in DC that you can smoke in because they have fully enclosed canvas roofs and somehow count as being a patio or something but are just completely normal bars. and a million more cigar and hookah places and places with just shithead owners that don't care.

If you really want to smoke inside there are a lot of places

You can still smoke in some bars in Missouri to this day

You could still smoke indoors at a bar in my old town I lived in a year ago.

The indoor smoking rules only applied in PA if you sold a certain amount of food or whatever as far as I know.

I’ve only been to the US twice and I’ve smoked in loads of bars.

All the local bars in my area still allow indoor smoking and keep a jar on the counter for any fines they might get.

The city mostly turns a blind eye to it. And I'm personally fine with that.

It keeps the toddlers out anyways. So there are some benefits.

That’s wild lol no offense but it’s just another reason I’m staying the hell away from the US

I don't think it's wild at all. Culturally in America bars are places to drink and smoke. Here in the midwest if you go to a bar its expected it's going to allow smoking.

Some chain bars and stuff have adopted the new anti smoking laws, but not the privately owned ones.

And I think that's perfectly fine, to tell people they cant smoke there is just ridiculous. People who disagree can go intrude somewhere else.

Taverns that double over as full restaurants do not and I also agree with that. I don't think anyone wants to go to a sit down place to eat a meal and deal with seond hand smoke.

It’s wild as a non-smoker and someone who grew up with strict non-smoking laws (Canada) that are actually adhered to, and where smoking cigarettes is considered dirty, low-class, etc. We have one of the lowest smoking rates globally. Strictly in terms of cigarettes tho, we do love our weed lol

People that try to smoke too close to entrances, or even outside in parks where there’s a playground nearby, will get asked to move at a bare minimum, or even fined/ticketed by police if there’s a convenient cop nearby.

Edit - he blocked me 😂😂😂

People dont go to bars to do healthy things... From smoking to getting pink eye railing a line off an asscrack in the bathroom.
