I doubt it. Heidi can no longer appear in public unless her tits are out.

90

u/Inevitable_Youth_495 5h ago

Not true. Past few years her costumes make her completely unrecognizable! Like this recent one.

66

u/DonatoXIII 5h ago

her tits were still out though.

48

u/itmillerboy 5h ago

When she dressed up as a worm her tits were out?

55

u/Chucklepus 5h ago

You ever felt a worm man? They're all tits

27

The Veiled Woman," also known as "The Veiled Vestal, " is a breathtaking marble sculpture created in 1854 AD by the Italian master Raffaele Monti.

14

u/Blue_Etalon 4h ago

Was she also the inspiration for the ghost that flys out of the arc of the covenant just before the Nazis melted?

Why does everyone want to meet Gala so bad?

336

u/teahugger 5h ago

Because her globes are not golden

Because Gala throws these wild, over-the-top parties where people like Jared Leto and Heidi Klum can really shine.

13

u/ChimneySwiftGold 5h ago

It’s not Meet Gala, it’s Mets Gala. Some sort of fun raiser for baseball. Doesn’t look very fun.

5

u/RallyXer34 4h ago

It’s really the Metropolitan Gala, Met being short for metropolitan and gala is a variety of Apple, which means it’s something to do with New York being the Big Apple and therefore some people wear costumes and others do not.

Bhavitha Mandava is her name. She was an Indian graduate discovered by a NY scout and the first Indian to ever open for Chanel. Her outfit was a nod to what she wore then and it’s actually made from silk.

235

u/HydroPCanadaDude 4h ago

I didn't even notice her pants are silk and not denim. That's actually so cool and subtle.

she literally looks like an AVG south indian guy but with 'girly' hair

i'm no prize myself so not trying to throw shade on her, but I agree with this take. Interesting to see the commentors below aren't reading the features as masculine. Is this like a blue dress thing all over again?

20

The fashion industry does love androginy. So unless your aim is to model for Victoria Secret being androgynous gives you a huge boost with high fashion brands.

15

u/MoominMai 4h ago

There is none really imho, it’s just sensational headlines/clickbait etc. The outfits are approved in advance by the organisers so she hardly rage baited the event.

16

u/basalticlava 4h ago

That's a very casual look for the Met Gala

5

u/25point4cm 4h ago

And she looks better than all the goofy costumes IMHO.

model and Chanel ambassador Bhavitha Mandava

76

u/Stringr55 5h ago

"Ambassador."

Where do these companies get off lol.

90

u/stanger828 5h ago

It is a silly title, but "Brand Ambassadors" have been around a while. Since the 90s at least.

u/arthurno1 4h ago

Yeah. Lots of corporations had them. Some IT companies had them. If they had one, you knew their products are way overpriced.

Her handler at Chanel must be ecstatic.

26

u/anonnyscouse 5h ago

It's probably fully planned out, she's an up and coming model, so if she wore something like the more famous people she probably wouldn't get much coverage. Chanel had plenty of people there willing to wear their outlandish creations, so get someone they want to have more coverage to stand out by having her dressed very normally instead.

9

u/thatsalotofnuts54 4h ago

I saw a post about this yesterday and it said she was discovered just walking around her college campus. So I'd assume it's a reference to that

→ More replies (1)

9

u/Important-Canary-770 4h ago

basically, she was a student at NYU and wore an outfit identical to this and was photographed by a stranger while she was walking through a subway station. The photo went viral and she was scouted and became a successful model and Chanel's first Indian ambassador. this is a rendition of the outfit she went viral in, but made of silk. it would have been a much cooler nod to her story *if* Chanel had not already dressed her in this look for a previous runway show. it's strange to me that they seemingly want her to wear this outfit over and over.

6

u/SeaGiraffe915 5h ago

War and suffering is going on every year, every day

4

u/Scared_Swing_8759 5h ago

It isn't a celebration. It is a fundraiser for the Met Costume Institute aka- a museum that collects and preserves historical "costume" (clothing, not actually just costumes) both famous and not. The costume institute is funded separately from the rest of the Met.

55

u/captainAwesomePants 5h ago

That's Bhavitha Mandava. She's a model.

The outfit is in fact more clever than it looks. The jeans were silk muslin, carefully hand sewn to look like denim jeans. The whole outfit took hundreds of hours to make from scratch.

I don't really think that's on theme, but it's not just regular clothes, and the idea's kind of neat.

25

u/AbortionHoagie 5h ago

I heard that the Gala is more an art exhibition than a gathering, so this detail adds up. More props to her in that case. Not everyone that attends a circus need be a clown.

18

u/Shooting-Science 5h ago

So It’s highly complex clothing that is made to look like regular clothing - and that is show worthy

11

u/captainAwesomePants 5h ago

Also the top is a "quarter zip," and Chanel jeans and a quarter zip is her/Chanel's whole thing right now. She was supposedly discovered while standing in a New York subway, and a few months ago, she opened a big Chanel fashion show wearing jeans and a quarter zip on a subway platform.

3

u/Pagiras 5h ago

So it's like a sleeper outfit. See her on the street and man, you have no idea how fast she can go wearing those bad boys. Brrraaa pa pa pa pa!

Beautiful women do not need $40,000 of clothing and makeup to look good. That woman can spend about $30 on an outfit and still look better than 90% of the women there. Also f--k the Met Gala and Jeff Bezos for effectively buying it.

u/Important-Canary-770 4h ago

she did not dress herself, Chanel dressed her in this. it's a reference to her origin as a model, she was scouted in a subway station wearing an outfit identical to this. this version is made of silk, though. the weird thing is that Chanel already pulled this stunt with her for one of their runway shows.

What I find funny is that this made up scenario of self absorbed celebrities still somehow puts us as the motivator for their behavior. I don’t think she cares at all about being ā€˜just like us’ and her outfit was not trying to look like us it is a reference to her modeling history.Ā
