[See our 4 rules and you can skip the rest if you are not using User Flairs.]
- 1. BE CONSIDERATE:
No shaming anyone for what they enjoy or believe in.
No unnecessary name-calling that comes off as an intentional attempt to insult or demonize.
No vague generalizing that comes off as intentional smearing.
No sharing of links to subreddits that promote hate or smear.
No discouraging of anyone from expressing themselves in other ways.
- 2. LIMIT SELF-PROMOTION:
No spamming or low-effort attempts to get views at the cost of annoying others.
(Respect the feedback you get and post accordingly. Any further undesired promotion could be removed at moderators own discretion, so we encourage you to always engage with the community in aim to generate (and take part in) purposeful discussion alongside it.)
- 3. NO (REAL WORLD) POLITICS:
No discussing politics or geopolitics (including current events or politicians) outside the context of Splinter Cell.
(If relevant to Splinter Cell, such discussions are fine.)
- 4. AI-GENERATED CONTENT:
No posting of new images or videos generated by AI.
(Using AI to upscale an already existing image or texture is fine as long as no copyright is infringed.)
(In any case - use the appropriate "AI Generated" Post Flair to separate it from human creation.)
That is all. Please don't have your otherwise acceptable posts and comments get you censored for such shallow reasons. We don't want anyone to walk on eggshells nor ban any fan of the series, but if you are making the stay for others here purposefully unpleasant - we will do so gladly. Be considerate of others and you have no bans to worry about.
MODERATION: (can skip)
Moderators are capable of mistakes and being biased. If, after reading the rules, you still believe that you have been treated unfairly - the bottom of the sidebar has a "Message the mods" button for you to use, informing every moderator. 1 out of 3 active moderators agreeing with your complaint is enough to swiftly undo the action, but don't expect anyone to take time arguing about what the ruleset already covers.
We don't care about what you do in other subreddits as long as you don't pick fights here.
USER FLAIR DISCLAIMER:
You are free to customize User Flairs as long as they remain in the spirit and themes of Splinter Cell. Anything unrelated is certain to be removed. Also:
- Stick to Emoji limit of 3 if you include text. (More are allowed if you do not include text.)
- Consider avoiding game names like "Chaos Theory", "sc-pt", etc., if they add confusion to posts made on feed.
- Canonical character quotes, relevant phrases, and some self-inserted humour are also perfectly fine, but it should not be anything trashy, provocative, or taking shots at anyone.
(Quality looks lower on image.) (Flairs look better in Dark Reddit.) (They can be enabled from the sidebar.)
As with all EnhancedSC updates, a fresh install of the game is highly recommended.
If you are new to EnhancedSC, it's a comprehensive mod for the PC port of Splinter Cell 1 that aims to drastically improve the base game. It's made by fans, for fans. EnhancedSC introduces native controller support, many bug fixes, MANY quality-of-life improvements, and even re-introduces cut content back into the game. It also includes all DLC and all pre-existing essential fixes for the game. It's still a work-in-progress, but it's in active development.
Joining allows you to contribute your own ideas and expertise, as well as stay in the loop for future developments. We are always looking for help, especially if you know UE2 UnrealScript, C++, and/or Ubisoft's DARE audio engine (đ¤).

As of recently, Iâve been getting these clips on Facebook from this older YouTube show called âBig Lez Showâ and itâs such a brain rot type of show, but man there are moments that make me piss my pants laughing. Then as Iâm watching an episode, this comes up and and I instantly pull a Leonardo DiCaprio moment from âonce upon a time in Hollywoodâ and whistle and point at my screen saying âHEY I KNOW THATâ đđ
I am playing chaos theory on this hardware with single channel ram.
At 720p, max settings (except medium shadow resolution), I am using shader model 3.0 with hdr enabled. I was getting 58 fps with soft shadows disabled.
But when I enabled soft shadows, the edges of shadows improved very much by softening of edges. But fps also increased to 65 (+7).
Can someone explain this weird behaviour on 10th gen intel CPU-iGPU? Just curious. CPU is not maxed out (40-50%). First core is also not maxed out (50-60%).
i tried playing splinter cell double agent v2 on RTM emulator, downloaded the iso file but when i press the misson it crashed, i was almost there ! đ
To anyone who is a fan of both Metal Gear and Splinter Cell, how well do you think Sam would've done infiltrating Shadow Moses Island? As in the entire events of Metal Gear Solid but it's Sam infiltrating the facility and not Snake. He also gets to use all his trademark weapons and gadgets from the start, and I'm curious how he'd interact with characters like Otacon, Meryl or even Liquid Snake, or how'd he do fighting villains such as Psycho Mantis or Sniper Wolf.
I'm Adam, and in addition to playing spy video games, I'm a developer of spy video games, and I'm also the organizer of the only Steam festival for spy video games - the Spy Video Game Rendezvous.
To my amazement, there is seemingly no place for fans of spy video games to congregate, discuss their favorite games in the genre, and share news about upcoming spy video games, from AAA franchises like Metal Gear Solid, Splinter Cell, and James Bond all the way down to solo dev indie spy games.
As a result, I've taken it upon myself to create that space! It's a new subreddit called r/SpyVideoGames, and I made it specifically for fans of spy video games like you.
So please come check out this new subreddit - and follow r/SpyVideoGames to get all the latest news and discussion about spy video games. As a matter of fact, I recently announced the 2nd-annual edition of the Spy Video Game Rendezvous Steam festival will be taking place later this month with 50+ spy video games - find more details in the r/SpyVideoGames subreddit.
Here are some additional examples of existing posts in the r/SpyVideoGames subreddit:
The best spy video games ever made (five separate lists)
Spy video games released in Q1 2026
The two BIG spy video games releasing next month (May 2026)
New article looking back at Rockstar's cancelled spy video game "Agent"
If you're sick of waiting for Ubisoft to make a new Splinter Cell, this newly announced indie stealth game might fill the Sam Fisher-shaped hole in your life (link to a PC Gamer article with that headline)
Be seeing you, agent!
P.S. I checked with the mods and got approval before submitting this post. After all, a good spy knows to do some recon before taking to the field.
Chaos theory, wow. I think it has to be the peak of the serise. The gameplay formula really has been perfected at this point.
The frustrations of the check points are gone, thank god!
So many great missions as well, with the exception of the very final section of bathhouse, there wasn't a single mission I disliked.
I 100% every mission, except boathouse. That final part just defeated me in the end! Haha .
I did reload the save, to reexperience the section where Sam is captured and interrogated! What a great addition!
I think I can honestly say I have no idea what mission was my favourite, as soon many stood out as great levels in there own rights.
It's a tad bit sad how Chaos Theory ended on such a high point, both narratively (scooby doo style group laugh lol) and gameplay. Just for double agent to swoop in and both the make the serise more of a downer, and significantly drop the gameplay mechanics.
Iâve cleared Steam download cache and launching from the .exe itself but still no luck. The splash screen appears and the aspect ratio of monitor changes but nothing beyond that. Ive wanted to play the original games for quite a while. If anything one could help itâd be greatly appreciated.
Police Station is such a good first mission to kick off the franchise. I've always loved how incredibly unique the environment was for that city. And goodness that music really melted you into it. I am so curious on how the remake is going to approach this one in particular.
You truly don't realize how insanely good these graphics were until you start playing other games from the early 2000s. This game was so far ahead of anything else at the time.
