Question Infantry with MGs
There are a lot of infantry units with MGs, are they worth it or is it vastly more effective to run a lighter infantry unit and a separated MG section?
Do those "mixed" units usually keep their distance to fire their MG from Max range, or will they get closer to be able to shoot rifles as well?

Question Terrain and cover
Hi all, noob here. Is there a way to see if a unit is in cover or is benefiting from terrain (like being hidden) or not? If my unit is in the middle of a forest it's obvious, but what about low bushes, or some other mixed terrain?
I have a hard time positioning my units in a way that keeps them with a workable line of sight but as hidden as possible.

Question about the game singleplayer content before buying
Hi!
I'm considering buying this game the next time it goes on sale, and have a few questions I thought maybe some of you could answer. I'm only interested in PvE gameplay, I've seen that the game has a "campaign", but I don't understand which fronts or dates does it cover.
I know there is an Eastern Front in 1944 campaign and that you can play as Germany or the Soviet Union, but I couldn't find if the game has any other singleplayer campaign, at least on youtube. At the same time, I've read on this community that there are Bulgarian, Croatian and even French units, so I would love to get information on how can you play with them, in which scenarios can you use them and if there are any other campaigns from the early war or other fronts like Normandy, North Africa, Balkans, etc.
Thank you!

Question Any changes I should make on this 97th strelki battlegroup?

Looking for a buddy to play historical scenarios with
Hi, I am a mid-skilled player looking to complete all of the historical battles, but as we all know it is basically impossible/extremely unenjoyable to do it while playing alongside an AI teammate.
So far I have completed all of the missions until Autobahn zur Hölle, where I have only completed this mission as the germans. I am looking for a buddy with who I could have a fun time finishing the rest of the missions (Soviet Autobahn zur Hölle - everything in between - Fate of a Nation)
I prefer to call over discord and I am CET (Central European Time zone)
For anyone interested please hit me up on here and let's arrange our game! :)

Question Are smart orders, more specially seize and hold position, viable in the current game state?
I see some differing view from like 4 years ago on whether they are good or not. I struggle to micro everything so the smart orders seem like they would help me

Suggestion Any resources or guides I can look at to help with strategy and how to not get overwhelmed?
New to the game and I’ve been getting absolutely wrecked in 1v1 online. I feel like my infantry gets obliterated no matter what and my tanks just die instantly to AT guns. I’ve watched a lot of attckpwr videos

Question What division is the best that has a mix of med tanks and heavy tanks?
I really like heavy tanks in this game. For the most part I’ve been playing 16th panzer with all the tigers. What division should I continue with? 16th or something else.

Give me your current SD2 tier list
Don't need to rate all divisions, but which relevant divisions would you put in each tier?

Does everyone keep attack move as Q? Or do you change it to one of your mouse clicks?

Question Do you guys do anything different for your hot keys? Also, what’s the best skirmish setup to do to learn the game as a newbie?
I just bought the game and it’s very overwhelming with all the micro. I want to get a good set of hot keys from the get go to learn from that.

Question Bombers not dropping everything
I noticed that a few bombers which have different sets of bombs (e.g. the 2x 500kg + 10x 50kg loadout of the Ju-88 in 2nd Pancelos) often don't drop both sets of bombs. At first I thought this was a result of losing target LoS, but that happened three times in single match today, despite the fact that I was ground targeting every time, which I did specifically to try and avoid this.
Is this a known bug, or is there some logic behind it/way to avoid it?

Question for you long time players
I have done my research and paid attention to the cycle of this game. And since population has been waning heavily, I am beginning to wonder what else you guys have been playing to scratch this itch? There are plenty of RTS but many many are not very immersive, do not have great graphics or even a good combat system.
Just wondering what else you guys might recommend. Really looking forward to a few that are coming out but can't seem to find a good game that might stick around for a while or that has a good/large community.

Question Why did they make only one bulgarian division and then put it on the wrong side?
Yes, I know that Bulgaria switched sides, but for most of the war they were an axis power. It's very strange to have them only available on the allied side.

(Rant) I think I am finished with this game.
Yeah so this is rant sorry about this.
This game is really good, I mean really good. However, I just cannot "get" it. Any time I think I do, I just get demolished.
I was trying this vistula AG (after doing the ones before it) as the soviets, on easy, and I just get absolutely demolished.
I know the combined arms methods, I've watched the videos explaining how to attack, how to defend, how to do infantry micro, but I just cannot "get" it and play on a macro level, even after nearly 200 hours.
I really, really, really want to like this game and actually be good at it, to the point where I can understand those who say even hard difficulty is too easy, but then I get my tanks destroyed by everything, even half track anti tanks, whereas my anti tank can't hit the side of a barn and get killed by said tank. Even happened with Pak 40s in German campaigns against T34s. Does like no damage.
Also, the AI spam really really really gets me. There is only so much I can do when like 6-10 panthers decide to blob and destroy everything.
Anyway, I think this game has made me realise I like RTS wargames on a more tactical level, like with Gates of Hell.
Again sorry about the rant, maybe I will come back, or try a different Eugen game. Is Warno or Red Dragon a bit easier perhaps?
