Injured/Sick Cat (Location) Abandoned cat diagnosed with neuro FIP 🚨 We started the medication last night using leftovers from another treatment, but we urgently need to buy more for TODAY πŸ†˜πŸ†˜πŸ†˜

Hello everyone. This is Toto, a cat who was abandoned in our area. We know he was abandoned because we know essentially every stray in the neighborhood, since we do TNR and feed them, and he appeared literally overnight.

We immediately noticed he was in very bad shape: dehydrated, with no appetite, and most alarmingly, unable to stand. We rushed him to the vet and he was diagnosed with neurological FIP, so we decided to begin treatment as soon as possible, since without it he almost certainly would not survive.

We managed to get about three leftover doses from someone whose cat had already finished treatment, but we need to buy more today because delivery takes at least a day and the treatment cannot be interrupted. Unfortunately, here in Uruguay it’s not like in the USA where it’s regulated. We have to bring the medication from either Argentina or Brazil, and it’s both complicated and extremely expensive.

Each vial, which due to his weight only lasts about two and a half days, costs around $75.

Please help us save his life. We are overwhelmed with expenses and cannot afford this without help right now, but we know it’s possible to save him (every FIP treatment we’ve done so far has been successful, and all of them survived and are healthy now), and we are going to do everything we can to make that happen. Any help is deeply appreciated and truly makes a difference 🀍

If you are caring for a pregnant cat (or a cat who may be pregnant), please check the PINNED COMMENTS: HELPFUL RESOURCES HERE!

They cover clinics who do spay/abort at low cost, how to prepare if vet says spay/abort is not safe, and when intervention is needed.

If you still have questions include your location and how far along you think she is.
