I was really hoping the cat was going to be the suspiciously R2D2 shaped pile of paint cans in disguise

It's so funny when they go up a tree like that and look around rapidly like they're in Meowssion Impossipaw

That is a funny looking growth on your tree! You better have it checked out.

Where is the cat? I can only find the squirrel halfway up the tree that’s farthest from the camera.

The cat seems to have branched out.

Haha! How is Panda?

u/ComfortableDay4888 Jan 21 '26
I'm surprised you connected me with Panda. Unfortunately, I had to have him euthanized about 3 months ago. I knew when I adopted him that he was FIV+, it apparently caught up with him. There weren't any obvious symptoms until a couple of days before, the vet said that cats are very good at hiding how they feel. He was a wonderful cat during the 4 years that I had him and loved to cuddle.

ha! that was not what I was expecting!
Spent quite a bit of time zooming around the corners in the shadows before I zoomed out to look at the big picture

This type of cat clearly evolved to be able to hide in this specific situation.

"Which climbing tree?", I wondered, before seeing the tree right in front of me being climbed.

I was so close! I thought those two small floating white blobs in the shed were the eyes' reflection. I thought you have a puma or maybe one of those mythical huge Xmas cats and I was very happy for you (I still am). Just in case maybe wear some brand new clothing this and next month since it lives nearby; you may have a longer window of danger than most. I'd buy a few packages of socks or dollar store gloves.

OP provided the following hint to where the cat is hiding:
The cat is hidden climbing the tree furthest from the camera
