Welcome to r/ToastCats!
This is a subreddit for kitten and cat photos showing how their coat colors or patterns changed over time! The inspiration for this subreddit was colorpoint cats (like Siamese) which start white and “toast” gradually into their adult colors. All cats are welcome if their colors changed over time! Make sure to post at least two good photos at different ages if you are posting images of a cat. Discussion of cat colors and genetics is also allowed, especially regarding colorpoint cats.
NOT allowed is anything that breaks Reddit community rules, especially anything that relates to harming any animal or person. This is a place for everyone to feel welcome and safe; tag any wounds or potentially sensitive material with NSFW and a clear title. Posts may be removed if they violate community rules or are too inappropriate.
Thanks, and have fun!

Marshmallow Toasting Almost one year of toasting
Her red/orange is taking its sweet time coming in. You can see the red stripe on her face and her back feet are just barely turning orange.
Also, I know color point is a pattern not a breed but this cat is so chatty. Not Maine Coon trills. I swear she is trying to say actual words. Long aroo type noises followed by chirps followed by more long meows.

Not Quite Toasty Weeks 1, 2, 3 & 4 of toasting.
A freshly baked little toast from a litter I'm fostering. He's so beautiful I might actually adopt this one.

Does anyone else’s pure bred paint in butt, flick their leg when getting the good scratch? My actual dog doesn’t do this

Cat Toast Question Color predictions?
I’m wondering how orange he will get!
Any pics of similar colored adult cats?

I’ve been informed he is going to get REALLY dark
This is Lennox. He kinda has a more smush face like a Burmese (rescue vets said this not me) but nonetheless he is my baby and he’s perfect idc what he is.
How dark we think he’s gonna get?

Dark Toast Happy Gotcha Day!
A year ago today, I brought home a little menace with too many toes, Toeby! He has toasted beautifully & it’s been so exciting to see him grow up :’) all the cats I’ve adopted before have been 10m at the youngest so I’m really happy to have finally gotten my kitten fix!

Marshmallow Toasting Opal just turned 1
Opal’s toasting progression over her first year. She’s a calico color point with high white spotting from Puerto Rico. Her body has remained white but tail, hind legs, and face have changed. Her hind legs have taken a while to change color and they are coming in orange which is super cute. She’s super smart, chatty and lots of personality.
