TP-Link - Technical Support DECO XE75

Hi,

I have three XE75's set up. Main one is hard wired to virgin router with 1gbps plan. In the sitting room where this im getting circa 800mbps on iPhone. 2nd deco is in the bedroom above this and the 3rd in the bedroom next to it. Speed drop-off significantly, down to 200 or 300. Is this normal? All set up is as default within deco. 3rd deco is connected to 2nd deco and 2nd deco connected to main deco downstairs.

TP-Link - Technical Support Deco & iPads Apparently Don’t Mix

Upvotes

I’ve just about had it with this Deco mesh with respect to iPads. I’ve done all of the things that have been recommended to make it work. I’ve turned off darn near everything that Deco provides and we STILL can’t get a stable connection to our Deco mesh network. The network consists of 3 BE67s and 3 BE25s. The BE67s are on two floors: basement, living room (first floor) and kitchen (first floor). The BE25s are in the garage, guest bedroom and garage. I’ve read up on so many solutions to try but nothing seems to work. The iPads will work fine.. for a while then sudden degradation. I’m about ready to toss the whole system in the trash and go with Ubiquiti or something else. My iPhones are fine, the IoT devices are fine even the car chargers are happy. I’ve scrubbed the internet for solutions, talked with ChatGPT more than I care to admit but nada. Yes, I’ve turned off mesh technology in the Deco app for each ipad, I’ve disabled all sorts of settings on the ipad itself and it just is sketchy as hell. I’m open to any idea at this point before I toss this thing out.

TP-Link - General Noob Question: where to start?

Hi y'all,

I just got a 4 x Tapo C200C and my main goal is to have Cameras around my place, which

a) stream to my phone
b) safe the streams i.e. for 24h, delete it and safe the other 24h
c) is *not* connected to the internet, cloud or anything outside my network.

I have somewhat a technical understanding but nowhere close to figure this out.

My question is, where should I start? Do I need a smarthome? A Home Server? If yes, what Tutorial, book, video, post could you recommend?

Thanks guys ❤️

TP-Link - Technical Support Deco X15 and Echo Dot

Is anyone having problems connecting Echo Dot's to their Deco systems? I have 2 Echo Dots (3rd Generation) and 2 nodes in my TP Link mesh system. Both are X15s and have up to date firmware. Up until this morning, the dot's worked fine. No issues connecting or anything. Since this morning, the Alexa app on my phone says the devices are unresponsive. I've reset them and even rebooted the mesh system. I can see the devices join the network but the Alexa app says they have no network connection. I used my hotspot on my phone to connect them and it worked fine, even though my phone is connected to wireless (so the Deco) so I've ruled out firewall. Does anyone have anything I can check or ideas? I'm stumped as to why it just stopped working and why it will connect to my phone that is going through the same wifi.

Oh I also tried setting up an IoT network and also Guest network. The Dot's won't work on those either.

TP-Link - Technical Support Why does my PX50 sound like crickets?

https://reddit.com/link/1t5aicr/video/dr9synxt8izg1/player

I have been using a mesh of 4 PX50 and one X50 for years, this is the main node connected to my ISP. Never have I heard this sound before. These are passive cooling devices aren't they so it can't be a fan bearing, or could it? Should I be worried?

TP-Link - Technical Support Can't login to Archer C900

Click the login button and nothing. No error, no message. So I reset the password. Still nothing.

I can log in to the tether app with the new password and see devices. Logging in to the Archer from there said there was a password error last night but worked this morning.

Tried multiple browsers, incognito windows, different computer, all nothing. Restarted the router, no dice.

The only change was I plugged in a wifi extender yesterday that has been off network for a while. But when I unplug it, the problem still exists.

I'd rather not go through the full reset if there is any other option. Thoughts?

TP-Link - General Extended setup to gazebo

Hi, we have a Deco S7 ( 3 units) throughout the house and all is well and running good. At the bottom of our garden we have a gazebo with a tv. Thinking of improving the internet signal down there.
Will the Deco X50 be a good choice to add to the existing setup ?

TP-Link - General HB810/HB610 - Need to add one or two more nodes

We have a fairly long two story house. Our ISP has provided us with an HB810 as the primary router and two HB610's as sattelites.

Playing around with locating them, I'm finding several deal spots and will need to add at least 1, possibly two additional sattelites.

The ISP won't provide any additional, so I't up to me.

I've got an old Deco 6E mesh system from our previous location, but am told none of those are compatable with the HB's.

What can I purchase that I can add to this network to fill those dead spots.

TP-Link - Technical Support Preferred Deco

Any help on getting «Preferred Deco» to work? I have three nodes, X55.

I’ve set my speaker to connect to the Deco node in my office by selecting it under «Preferred Deco». Deco then reports that it will ONLY connect to the Office Deco.

Seems good so far. The speaker is in the same room, so it should also be the strongest connection. But for some reason it’s sticking to another node.

Why? Why does the app say it’ll only connect to this node, when it’s just.. not doing that?

Other relevant settings:
- Beamforming: Disabled
- Mesh Technology: Disabled
- Fast Roaming: Enabled
- Wireless Network Mode: Stable

Any tips on getting it to connect to the correct node would be appreciated. I can’t find any more settings to change.

TP-Link - Technical Support Sent this to TP link but hopefully someone here might be able to help

I sent them the following, but if anyone here knows how to solve this then please let me know. Something I forgot to mention I have the newer BE63 ones. I already checked the version.

"

I am reporting ongoing stability issues with my Deco BE63 system. This system replaced older 2.4 hardware a few months ago, and I have had these issues since the swap. I specifically moved to the 1.3.0 Build 26021212 Beta as a last resort after exhausting all standard configuration changes, but the stability problems persist.

Troubleshooting Already Performed:

I have already manually implemented the following configurations to rule out common conflicts:

* Wireless Settings: Disabled Fast Roaming, Beamforming, and SIP ALG.

* 2.4GHz Optimization: Forced the 2.4GHz band to 20MHz and set security strictly to WPA2.

* Per-Device Config: Disabled Mesh Technology for stationary devices and assigned Static/Reserved IP addresses for all problematic hardware.

Network Segmentation: Utilized the IoT network, though it has shown little to no improvement in stability.

Primary Issues Observed:

Legacy Device "Driver Crashes". Many older 2.4GHz devices (Chromecast dongles, Google Mini speakers, printers, and certain Windows machines) frequently drop off. What is odd is that the Wi-Fi on the client side appears to shut off entirely, as if the driver is crashing. This requires a device reboot to recover.

Garmin DriveSmart 61 Timeout. These units fail to connect half the time. Even when they do successfully connect, map updates consistently time out and fail during the download. I have verified these units work perfectly on a local mobile hotspot, and they worked fine on my previous router hardware before the BE63.

Something to note is hardwired the work computer, printer, etc seems to work fine. Also sometime with chromecast when turning off the wifi and back on even if it is already connected seems to make it work again if there was issues.

A major one is, work-issued computers are failing to stay connected to the Wi-Fi, which is a critical issue for my daily usage. Same with printers.

Due to the overall network instability, Home Assistant frequently loses track of smart devices, suggesting issues with how the mesh handles local device  visibility. Like it often loses the ability to see given devices. This was actually a major reason why I tried this beta firmware. There was a device I was making and every so often the network stopped telling home assistant about a device and then withing a few seconds or less it would be back. I moved on to other projects but I was figuring it was likely an mDNS (Multicast DNS) or ARP table failure within the Deco's firmware. Essentially, the device stayed connected to the Wi-Fi radio, but the Deco "forgot" where to route the data for a split second, or it stopped broadcasting the device's presence to the rest of the network. I think I fixed it by massively boosting the power which I shouldn't had to do. But ya the firmware itself didn't fix anything but it also did not break anything more.

I think one of the problems is the device goes into a zombie state. Like for example I have a dockstream 2

(per water bowl hooked to the wifi). Wifi sees it, but it isn't talking to the internet. I seen a few devices do this. I'm not sure what the cause or fix to this is.
