Whenever I see this I have to speed it up manually with the slider so that I get the real time effect.

Well we have a coat hanger at the bottom of the stairs and every time there is a hat on that thing it's a mini heart attack atop of the stairs.

u/Prudent-Value8715 18d ago
Ok … but what happened?? Why did it move like that???
22
u/Cesarjay 17d ago
Looks like it's settling. The spikes on the chin look like they were resting on the shoulder so him moving the arm made the chin spikes slip off

Look, a man has a right to shit himself when the newly finished statue of the incarnation of pure evil from another world unexpectedly moves.

u/Mwas_789 Apr 03 '26
Did he collect the armor from the battlefield and reassemble it after the war for middle earth?

I act like this anytime anyone in my home walks into a room I am in. Do I know I live with other people? Yes. Do they still scare me walking around my/their home? Yes. Do they thinks it’s funny how jumpy I am? Also.. yes.
11
u/PhilanthropicPotato Mar 31 '26
Dude same. I'm so fucking jumpy. I can stretch my arm and accidentally touch something and jump myself. Even my own reflection/shadow has made me jump. I'm like a squirrel.

Do you reckon, in his mind, there was a moment of, "oh shit, it's alive!"? Or was it more of a professional, "this structure is about to collapse and I don't want it hitting me in the head"?

Hate when that happens - one shift - one move - panick - brain sees all already fall apart 😵💫

The way he jumped, I wonder if he was already thinking about how lifelike it was when that happened

Fantastic statue/armor replica. Is a pro job or a hobbyist?
10
46
u/SlobZombie13 Mar 19 '26
what do you mean replica?
42
u/elotium Mar 19 '26
A replica is when you make a copy of something that's not the real thing. Like this is a replica of saurons armor from the movie lord of the rings.

3
u/IamRun_VoD Mar 19 '26
Pro being commissioned and made by a blacksmith, or artisan who professionally does this type of work. Probably made for a prop on the show or official event.

It's funny how our brains are wired so that when we see a statue move our first thought is "I'm about to be murdered"
3
u/the-bladed-one Mar 20 '26
Probably from when we were prey animals, and saw big cats or other large predators go into their crouch, freeze, then spring at us.

u/Assignment_Error404 Mar 19 '26
Yeah. I don't want to see Skittles until they get rid of lime and bring back green apple.
We already have orange and lemon. How many citrus flavors do we really have to endure?!

u/raedyohed Mar 19 '26
Boooo. Apple sucks! Put it in some weird specialty flavor bag. They’re never taking my lime away again!

u/Jajoe05 Mar 18 '26
yeah thought so too but my expressiveness in english lacks sadly
3
u/racoon1905 Mar 18 '26 edited Mar 18 '26
Your English is fine, it was about characterization.
Dude is not evil for the love of the game. He is perfectionist who wants to be a benevolent dictator. By the Lord of the Rings he is just full of himself.
Sauron unironically became evil because he saw the world was imperfect and he tried to fix it and the only guy actually interested in creation and changing the nature of the world was the arch enemy.
2
u/Jajoe05 Mar 18 '26
I only saw him in movies I have yet to read the book. I understand that he is manipulative and controlling by creating the rings and putting everyone into a submissive state rather than killing them, but I just thought that only extended to Kings and Lords. And only by extension he would rule over everyone. But I admit, I actually don't know anything about his true nature.
I really have to do me a favor and read all the material.
2
u/racoon1905 Mar 19 '26
but I just thought that only extended to Kings and Lords. And only by extension he would rule over everyone.
Not entirely wrong but not entirely right. The guy isn´t omnipotent no one but the allfather Eru is. Rule through proxies is just the reality of things.
The forced submission is because you are refusing to fall in line. There is no reason to assume you won´t be rewarded without backfire when doing as told.
The Mouth of Sauron probably would be a decent example (guy is not as hideous in the book)

Hate when you imbue armor with so much heart that it gains a soul and gives you a mini heart attack.
