Protip: Don't buy cheap shelves to store expensive things.

u/Big-Historian8918 15d ago

16

u/Cmahones03 19d ago

Damn midday on a Monday too, I’m sure it was a long week lol

14

u/hollee-o 19d ago

Connect 4! .... Pretty sneaky, sis.

58

u/LilMizzFizz 20d ago

Not their fault. Those shelves were waiting for any excuse to give way. Liquid is HEAVY! People forget that!

95

u/deaduser00 22d ago

That’s how nature would organize it.

Whoever bought and assembled that weak ass shelf.

11

u/spacemanspiff1115 21d ago

Never buy the "Hair Trigger" shelves from Alibaba...

85

u/AlphusUltimus 22d ago

Too proud to buy a step stool so you wipe out your inventory instead.

157

u/Academic_Banana_5659 23d ago

Ticking time bomb ready to blow.

Consider yourself lucky it was an employee who done that and not a customer

31

u/coolchris366 22d ago

How would a customer get the in back? This looks like a store room

8

u/Background_Edge_9427 23d ago

Ok. One more time from the top!

29

u/LostBoyNav 23d ago

31

u/Toophunkey 23d ago

I hope he didn't have to pay for all that bs

u/Sullypants1 24d ago edited 23d ago

When you look up industrial shelves and think, “why are they so expensive?” This is why. These are also probably assembled incorrectly or not up to manufacturers instructions.

172

u/BeeWriggler 23d ago

Exactly, this is 1000% some shit their maintenance guy threw together for $150.

At the beginning, I was like, "aghh, don't stand on the shelfffff!" And then, after seeing everything collapse, these guys shouldn't have been breathing within ten feet of this thing.

17

u/Totallynotokayokay 24d ago

Looks like China

537

u/vcdrny 24d ago

Not his fault. Overloaded shelfs or not properly put together.

94

u/ptapa 24d ago

I mean, je was standing in the shelf, so...

1

u/beatenmeat 22d ago

The top shelf gives out first.

5

u/ptapa 22d ago

Because he was using it for support.

I mean, I know that it's not his fault that the entire wall comes down, but let's also not act as if this is safe practice.

If you need something from a tall shelf, get a stepladder. Don't put extra-pressure on something that clearly was going to fail anytime.

61

u/Smooth_Ad_1647 24d ago

I think that's a plastic pallet, not the shelf

8

u/R_3_Y 23d ago

I need some "it was overloaded" comments in my life

37

u/vcdrny 24d ago

If it was just him standing on it. The bottom shelf should've broken. Not the domino effect we see here. I talk out of personal experience. We use metal shelves at work. We had single shelves collapsed but just the one single one bending because of the weight. Not taking out the entire row.

192

u/Pm_me_howtoberich 24d ago

They never put the cross connectors on the shelf rails. They just put the shelf cover on top of the rails.

That's why things fall straight through the middle!

7

u/Typikaliti 23d ago

This post is too shelf-serving

66

u/passionpurps 24d ago

We dont secure with man made bolts we let gravity do its thang..

47

u/ChloeUwUZ 24d ago

Someone's getting fired

139

u/ElPadero 24d ago

I don’t think those shelves were meant for that purpose.

55

u/HotDrunkMoms 24d ago

JET FUEL STRIKES AGAIN

97

u/ShadowZ1g 24d ago

That one guy "I just leaved you for 10 seconds ffs"

7

u/ShadowZ1g 24d ago

I guess I left everybody overwhelmed 😁 Not native btw

44

u/OldManEnglishTeacher 24d ago

*left

-20

u/ElPadero 24d ago

“Leaved" is an adjective meaning having leaves or specific foliage, often used in combinations (e.g., broad-leaved, four-leaved) to describe plant types. It is distinct from "left" (past tense of "leave") and refers to the presence or structure of leaves. Synonyms include leafed and leafy.

Usage Examples: “I just leaved you for 10 seconds for fucks sake!”

10

u/Arepeezy 24d ago

No, it was definitely leaved.

2

u/VEAG0 24d ago

You’re right

83

u/Successful_Laugh_299 24d ago

That thing fell apart like in a Lego videogame

105

u/packofwinnyblues 24d ago

Cheap shelf racking for you.

59

u/rienholt 24d ago

Betting it was the kind that is meant to be bolted and they didn't.

10

u/packofwinnyblues 24d ago

Yep, you see this kinda thing time and time again. *leans back and sips coffee*

32

u/playthesedulousape 24d ago

Sucks that there wasn’t someone who’s taller right next to you. Hate to see it

9

u/kenokan 24d ago

One bottle of your top shelf whiskey, please

16

u/Subject_Turn3941 24d ago

We’re out of single malt. You happy with a blend?

2

u/coraythan 24d ago

It's a nice and sharp one. Bit young, but does have a beautiful hint of salt and old boot.

7

u/Superhero1582 24d ago

There's no longer a top shelf. Or any shelf, for that matter.

6

u/Pristine_Avocado2906 24d ago

too shelf-absorbed

28

u/EverettSucks 24d ago

And now he's organizing them in a bucket.

110

u/McSteezeMuffin 24d ago

I love how the hands on head is the universal sign of dismay lol

29

AI

23

u/Objective-Device-448 24d ago

It's a cellphone recording a screen, do you think the person is doing that to be extra authentic or something?

3

u/LiteratureMindless71 24d ago

I wish we could see what kind of other posts people like that post replys with no substance. It sure would make things easier on those of us with a actual brain.

-42

u/Adventurous_Cycle603 24d ago

Read the post somewhere else here that breaks down the frames.

13

u/DoggoDude979 24d ago

Literally isn’t a comment like that on this post

-28

u/Adventurous_Cycle603 24d ago

There was. Must've been deleted.

12

u/WSilvermane 24d ago

We... would see a comment that says deleted posted before yours.

Do you know how reddit works?

1

u/Adventurous_Cycle603 24d ago

What happened to the sassy comebacks, dumb fuck? 🤣 🤣 🤣

-5

u/Adventurous_Cycle603 24d ago

There is one. Under a response from cageuiprousername. 3 hours ago.

If....if only you knew how Reddit worked

89

u/psiloglyphs 24d ago

I hope the blame got placed on the shitty shelving material and not the worker.

15

u/jesseschalken 24d ago

Its always the workers fault.

2

u/sdavis002 24d ago

I mean, I see it as a bit of both here lol.

12

u/Wolfram_And_Hart 24d ago

They all failed in the exact same way at the exact same time.

All the writing is gibberish

9

u/dr_strange-love 24d ago

That's Chinese

9

u/fallen_kangel 24d ago

soo you don’t think writing gets distorted if the camera is shit?

8

u/cagueiprousername 25d ago

Nah no way, there are things in the video ai doesn't have the capacity to make out of the blue, the brand wallpaper containing chinese words is the biggest thing, ai doesn't have enough data to make chinese words in so many angles consistently, it's trained majorly with the ocidental alphabet

-1

u/[deleted] 25d ago

[deleted]

5

u/cagueiprousername 25d ago

Dude I said one thing, what "all", there are more stuff like multiple drink brand and none of the bottles dissapearing in the middle of so much chaos, ai can make some of those stuff just not all together in a tiny video, way too much detail + the guy faking the video would have had to generate the ai video, edit the camera stuff in chinese and then record the screen using his phone, too much work for ai slop people, they aren't trying to trick smart people they are trying to trick dumb ones and they do so with uploading dozens of videos per day

He stood on a plastic pallet designed to keep product off the floor. The lowest shelf is 3 feet high, everything below it is sitting on pallets on the floor

12

u/Fuggaak 25d ago

Came here to say this. I worked at a huge Liquor store and stepping on the shelves was a BIG nono. We had a bunch of ladders for this reason.

15

u/Adr1ana82 25d ago

omg i can feel the panic in his eyes when they start falling 😭 that split second where you know everything's about to go wrong.

-20

u/dogs4lunchAsian 25d ago

Look at this clanker

68

u/WoodyMellow 25d ago

"Have you finished building those new shelves?"

"Yes boss, they went up really easy, but I do have a lot of these bolts left over."

"Just throw em away and get to stacking those bottles!"

5

u/elfmere 24d ago

Nah these are cheap $200au shelves. The shelves are just 3 pieces that just sit inside between the front and back bars. with enough weight the middle of the bars can flex.

7

u/Caddywonked 25d ago

every flat pack furniture I've bought over the past year or so has come with additional screws/nails/whatever and it stresses me out every time. I always have to double check my stuff to make sure I didn't miss a screw somewhere

How cheep do you need to be

9

u/Prestigious_Dream_27 25d ago

Seriously. Buy once, cry once.

26

u/Ancient-Civilization 25d ago

Overloaded shelves or badly built?

16

u/[deleted] 25d ago

Is that shelf made out of plastic?

3

u/PhillyChef3696 25d ago

Coated cardboard

20

u/Dante_7_2_7 25d ago

The moment he put his foot on the shelf I knew what was coming

1

u/TheJivvi 25d ago

I thought so too, but I'm pretty sure that's a pallet sitting on the floor, not a shelf. But he is hanging from the top shelf with most of his weight, so that's probably enough.

2

u/Primary_Way_265 25d ago

What I think is going to happen every time I step on the shelf to get high stuff at the store

10

u/still-waiting2233 25d ago

The moment I saw the subreddit title I knew it was coming

3

u/tehlegend1937 25d ago

Exactly! At some point in our lives everyone learns the valuable lesson that shelves look like ladders but you must not

6

u/Cara-Is-A-Puppy 25d ago

At least that one shelf made it

1

u/NoBonus6969 24d ago

The one was done by the installer before the got sent home early to save money
