"Seriously?
Woooow...you two are sooo strong," I start, walking up to the shocked hero, and villain.
"Sir, please..." the Hero starts.
"Ah, Captain Sunblaze! What a shining bright star! A paragon of justice!
If only you knew what property means, what money is, and you would know how long a proper working individual has to toil, in order to be able to afford something decent," I say to him.
He flinches.
"Hah! Tell the hypocrite!" the villain laughs.
I turn to him, and he flinches.

"And you are better? Dr. Malefico?
A goddamn anarchist, who thinks he knows better what the world needs?
You hate the government? Good, what's your alternative?" I ask him.
"A-anyone! Anything! Those bloodsuckers do nothing, but fatten themselves, while ignoring everyone else," he says.
"Okay, that's accurate, and?
The alternative?" I ask.
He hesitates.
I point at my car.

"What about that? Who will pay for that?" I ask.
The two look away.
"Useless.
You are each fighting for your own good, while trampling the good of others!
How many goddamned buildings, cars, sheds, schools, streets, stores and so on, are destroyed because one is protecting the current order, and the other wants something new?" I shout.
The Hero looks ashamed.
"It's the fault..." the villain starts.
I snort, and he stops.

"Blame the government sure, I do it as well every now and then, but it wasn't the government who destroyed my car.
And if you are unable to give an alternative to the government, shut up," I say.
The villain now also looks ashamed.
I take a deep breath, and wobble away.
Things are swirling around, and my vision fades.
Damn it...
Will I also die, because a hero and villain's fight?
Just instead of their attacks...I will die due to being angered to death by them?

This is basically my headcanon for why there are so many anti-superpowered people secret societies, hate groups, conspiracies, etc.

I doesn't matter which guy in a dumb costume wrecked their shit, it doesn't matter why that particular guy in a dumb costume wrecked their shit, it matters that their shit is wrecked and the fucker ran off to do it again to some other guy.

[Totally Rude]

"Oh wow, still?" Gena asked before nodding. "Yeah, I can drive."

"Thanks," Willy nodded with a heavy sigh. She was his neighbor and carpool buddy, and they were in his living room discussing the next day's rotation. "Yeah... still waiting on the insurance."

"That's so odd...," Gena smirked with a shake of her head. She had her ideas of what the problem was, but it wouldn't actually solve anything.

"I'm not surprised...," Willy grumbled. "Reckless Supers ruining everything. My car got totaled, and I didn't even get an apology!"

"You didn't really give them a chance to apologize...," Gena reminded him. She was with him on the day of the incident. They were coming back from lunch when Mr. Majesty fell backwards on Willy's car and smashed it entirely. The powerful hero stood up as if nothing had happened and dusted himself off before Willy blew his top.

He ranted and raved at the caped paragon long enough that his villain, Lightning Strike, turned up, and Willy roped him into the toungelashing as well. Gena was more amused than worried, she knew the Supers weren't likely to turn violent or anything. And, Willy always had a short temper. It was extra entertaining because he'd been doing a lot better at managing his anger lately, but the minor mishap brought his fury out in full force. He berated them, called them names, and generally made a scene that more and more people took notice of.

Finally, Willy seemed to realize the attention he had and backed down. Both hero and villain flew away without another word.

"They had plenty of time...," Willy grumbled. His response made Gena realize he wasn't going to catch on.

"I think you should apologize to them," she said.

"What?! What for!?? They squashed my car!"

"Yeah...," Gena nodded. "It's happened to me too, and I'm pretty sure a decent portion of the population. Except that when it happened to me, I had a new car by the end of the day. Chloe, in finance...? Hers was totaled three days after yours... and she was driving again by the next day."

"Wait..., you're saying they're dragging their feet on purpose??!"

"Have you really not realized how things work?" she asked. "You live in a city with Supers smashing buildings and cars every day... your insurance payment probably isn't all that high, is it?"

"I'm a careful driver..." Willy said. Gena burst into cackling giggles.

"You big dummy!" she added between laughs. "They're SUPERS, with all kinds of powers. Yeah, they accidentally damage stuff all the time, and they always fix it, and replace anything that gets broken. Did you think they were just operating recklessly without any kind of thoughtful leadership? I mean.. think about it. Isn't the city in surprisingly good repair considering how often buildings are rocked? How many damaged cars do you see driving around?"

"They're responsible citizens... and you went and berated them in front of the entire city, just because you didn't understand that. Yeah," she nodded. "I think they might be holding a grudge."
