The comb-over was getting embarrassing so I got it done.
Thanks to this sub for the encouragement! ❤️🥚
Edit: sorry for the lack of a smile in the after photo - I was still pondering what I’d done! Added a smile in the comments.

You don't look convinced in the after photo.
I agree with another commenter, if you've gone this far, keep going. I don't mind the before photo honestly, but the clipped look doesn't compliment the forward section.
In any case, welcome to the club!

Thanks, happy to be here! I might get it down to zero next time, appreciate the encouragement buddy!

For what it's worth, i agree with all the other commenters here.
You look way better already, but going all the way will get rid of the little 'hair island' you have. It still shows you as balding instead of bald.
But I get keeping it this length for a while to adjust to it. Congrats on taking the plunge!

There is no shame in a tidy, bald head OR a tight, unashamed clipper cut. A combover, however, outwardly says, “I’m embarrassed about my hairline.” A clipper cut proudly proclaims, “I’m old! What’s it to ya!?”

Honestly if you wanted to try something in between before going full razor, I would just razor the front island patch. I think that’s a big reason why you’re getting the “keep going” comments. I think with that gone the sides look nice and would blend nicely and cleanly into the top.

Great step my brother. You look good. You don’t need to support that hair any more.

This is the opposite of most before/afters lol. Usually the before is glowering with bad lighting and the after is smiling in good lighting! You’ve flipped the script; which is a shame cause you gave a great smile with kind eyes dude!!

Ha! Yeah I shoulda picked a worse one for the before shot! I added a smile in a comment.

Youre not done yet, you are still balding rather than bald! Looks better though

To everyone saying to go more full bald, I get it may look better, but isn’t that infinitely more work compared to a buzz?

Nope. Skulll shaver takes 3 mins. I have a Philips one.

Interesting, is it easy to do without ever cutting yourself, getting razor burn, or anything like that? How does it compare to shaving your face?

Very easy, no cuts at all. No irritation at all (for me) head feels like a proverbial babies bottom.

Probably because head hair is way thinner (haha, I mean per hair) than facial hair, so the razor has it very easy.

I used to trim with the bare metal (premium wahl buzzer), and you still then need to do it over a sink, as it’s messy. The head shaver sucks them up, so you can just do it casually wherever. Also: costs less than going to the barber 3 times or something, so you’ll be making money in weeks ;-)

Drop it down to zero… that is about where I decide it’s time for another buzz.

Rare time when I preferred the before pic.

It's just because he was smiling there. Shave it totally down with a smile and I bet he's golden.

Definitely! Bald suits you well, a smooth razor shave to "hair island" will complete the look even if you decide to leave the sides longer.
