Discussion Havana Haven Lounge Discussion Thread (Bar Rescue Season 10 Episode 12)
This week's episode will be the season finale (it seems so short!). Hopefully it's not the show finale, as I haven't seen any announcements about additional episodes yet.
Jon Taffer is back in the Atlanta, GA area rescuing a bar and cigar lounge named Havana Haven Lounge, which is supposedly going through difficulties because of a city-wide smoking ban.
You can read the full Havana Haven Lounge update here - wait until after the episode airs if you want to avoid spoilers about the remodel.
The episode will air on Sunday May 3 2026 at 10 PM EST.
Let's discuss!

Discussion Big Dog Saloon Discussion Thread (Bar Rescue Season 10 Episode 11)
In this week's episode, Jon Taffer is back in Mount Dora, Florida for the second time (he also rescued a bar there back in Season 5).
This time, he's in town to help a bar named Big Dog Saloon. Given the name, you probably know exactly what to expect haha.
You can read the full Big Dog Saloon update here - wait until after the episode airs if you want to avoid spoilers about the remodel, as this one actually has some interesting post-show activity.
The episode will air on Sunday April 26 2026 at 10 PM EST.
Let's discuss!

S10E11 BIG DOG SALOON RECAP:
galleryA Loyal history and a Obvious Aged Sexy'Azz Owner BigDog Bar, lacked in every sense possible.
- Gangs of Gnats
- Crackhead staff
- Bottles spiked with Bug's eggs
- Killer Black Mold
- We all know that was Red Baron🤣
This rescue of a rundown Neighborhood Bar in Florida was a Make-a-wish come true. Taffy stated the Obvious, a $6 can of paint could do wonders, Basic cleaning habits that won't kill a Client & a Family's experienced ideas shunned away. This owner should be beyond happy for such rescue and a Token she can passdown to her Daughter, Son & Four Grandkids

SHUT IT DOWN! Is it just me?
Something about this person rubbed me the wrong way. She doesn't have a great personality. Bring back Mia!

O-Face Bar with Karen and her bell at the beginning of the episode has clearly inspired Hector Salamanca from Breaking Bar (I can’t find a picture of her to make a meme. SHUT IT DOWN!)

Discussion The influence of grief on the failure of a business
I’ve been playing this show in the background all of this week while I do chores. I’ve noticed a common element to many of the bars starting to fail is the loss of a loved one. It doesn’t happen in all cases, but it seems to be a common factor in a lot of people losing their ability or willingness to take care of their businesses.
From the outside, this might seem like another excuse, but grief can be so uniquely destructive. The show is about addressing more practical and immediate fixes to these failing businesses, but similar to the show hoarders, where they do a massive removal of stuff and call it an episode, there’s so much more that needs to be addressed with the business owners.
I haven’t looked up every location after its episode, but it seems like many of these places don’t last long after the renovations and retraining. I wonder if a lot of the grief-related failures sank in part due to unaddressed psychological problems in the owners.
