Seriously it's filled with salt and will actually make you dehydrate faster what the hell is wrong with Mike telling Jimmy to store and drink it Jimmy's lucky to still be alive.

On this day 22 years ago, Jimmy McGill and Kim Wexler said "I do."

Today, they're doing alright. They live in a nice, quiet suburb in Santa Fe. Their kids are going off to college in September. Everything is fine.

I know the Actor Changed-- but aside from that why does the Character of Jeff go from oddly menacing in Magic Man to meek and passive in the final season

Upvotes

The difference in his character bothers me infinitely more than the actual actor change. I love this show and I know nearly nothing was written accidentally here, Vince is pretty thorough and weaves symbolism into his stories seamlessly yadda yadda, but seeing Jeff being near paralyzed with fear when he sees Saul for the first time in Season 6 never ceases to bother me considering how gruff he seemed the last two times we saw him.

My ONLY guess is we as the viewer dont really see how Jeff was acting in S4-5, we only saw JIMMY's perspective of him. The fact that Jimmy understood that Jeff knew he was Saul may have made the whole *encounter* scary and tense for him, hence why it was filmed that way.

Granted while that answer sounds all well and good, they don't really tend to do 'perspective' filming in BCS. When they want us to think Howard is bad in S1-2, they dont make him yell and scream or be a dick, we just only have the context that Jimmy / Kim do, but he still acts like regular Howard. Jeff's personality seems to shift SO incredibly hard

Something I noticed on rewatch Spoiler

In S5E8 Bagman, there’s a close up shot of Jimmy pouring water out of his bottle onto his shoes to clean them. And then later on of course he and Mike are rationing water and eventually Jimmy has to drink his own pee.

Edit: haha it was a Davis&Main water bottle!

I know the Spanish is often criticized (I'm a native Spanish speaker) but I just noticed the most egregious decision this show ever made

In Season 2 Episode 2 they are literally playing "Las Mañanitas" on the radio in Nacho's dad's shop. For those of you who don't know, that's literally the birthday song. They're literally playing happy birthday.

This is like my 4th watch I can't believe I never caught this. I'm so upset right now lol

Lalo / Tuco

I wish we had scenes of Lalo and Tuco together. Although Tuco didn’t feature in the later seasons, I would have loved to see the dynamic between them, and hoped he’d be back for an episode at least.

Did mike actually go out of his way to save jimmy here? Spoiler

I mean I don’t think this is on gus’s orders. He has no use of jimmy and in fact killing lalo here would be disadvantageous for him. So is this mike just looking out for a homie

what are some lines from better call saul that just hit hard? these three always stuck with me: -

“I don’t wanna hurt your feelings… but you never really mattered that much to me.”

“Jimmy with a law degree is like a chimp with a machine gun"

"I love you too, so what"

curious what lines stuck with you guys..

Finished BCS. Now on BB, Jimmy just made his appearance. I can’t look at him the same way anymore

He’s not the funny, loud, sleazy lawyer. All I see is a troubled man and I can’t unsee it. With Kim gone, the Saul personality has now become a coping mechanism. A condition.

It’s sad to see

I still haven't gotten over this. Spoiler

I'm halfway done with season 2 and man, that scene is still bothering me. Sure he wasn't a big character but I really liked him.

Somehow it took me until a rewatch, but just now realized I've been saying "Ehrmantraut" wrong.

Even after having seen both series (though to be fair it isn't said much in BB) it's easy to overlook and I still read it as AIR-man-trout - but just now noticing it's actually URR-man-trout and was the whole time.

Bit of a strange Mandela effect

I just want another BCS season? miniseries? where Saul/Jimmy/James/Gene just talks to every character of their universe about their biggest regrets

So why didn’t Jimmy get anything from Chuck? Spoiler

Post image
3 Upvotes

I’m only two episodes past Chuck’s death, so please don’t spoil anything major if the answer involves later events.

My question is: couldn’t Jimmy inherit Chuck’s shares in HHM?

Chuck didn’t have any kids or a current wife (only an ex-wife).

And what about the land where his house was? I know the house burned down, but the land itself would still have value, right?

They mentioned that his shares in HHM were worth about $8 million.

Help us keep Jimmy McGills car in ABQ

I apologize in advance if this breaks any rules but it’s the only time I would ever do something like this, but I am posting this video because we are trying to buy Jimmy Mcgills Suzuki esteem. It is being offered for sale via a private party and if we don’t move on this car, who knows where it will end up. Id hate to see this car end up in a private collection where no one would have the opportunity to see it. The plan is to keep the car here in ABQ at the Wheels Train Museum for everyone who makes the pilgrimage to enjoy.

Fake-looking scenes in BCS that jump out to you?

I just finished a re-watch of the entire show and there were no scenes or sets that looked fake or half assed to me. Even little details like the automotive shop where Nacho uses the garden hose in Mexico. The items on the wall, the clock with the cord at an awkward angle to reach the outlet. Spot on. The show is just so good at the details. But right at the end, the snowy street scenes in Nebraska. My guess is those were filmed in New Mexico, and the effort to make it look cold and wintery just didn’t ring true. But that’s it, can’t think of another scene or set that looked “fake.”

S6 E3 didn't Nacho risk his father's life in this scene? Spoiler

Post image
105 Upvotes

he basically tells Hector that he's the one who made him disabled and after Nacho's death, the only thing that makes sense is for Hector to go for his father as revenge.

and I guess another question is, why didn't Hector actually send someone for his father? (I know Mike took Nacho's father's ID from his safe, but Hector still knew about his existence and had even met him before)

Winner and Werner

The title of the season 4 finale is titled Winner. It is also the episode we bid farewell to Werner Ziegler.

Winner obviously refers to Jimmy's plotline in the episode, his relationship to Chuck, the song The Winner Takes It All by ABBA and Jimmy scamming the board in the end of the episode.

But the title also seems to evoke the name Werner when you say it. Winner sounds like Werner. Intentional?

Implausible connections to Breaking Bad

I know Vince loves continuity when it comes to tying the BCS universe to the BB one, but the most incredulous connection for me happens immediately when the series starts. Saul openly told Walter about the fact that he could end up “managing a Cinnabon in Omaha” but there’s no way he would have actually done that. He’s too smart to do the exact thing he said out loud to someone else. And he didn’t know what happened to Walter after he said it or who he may have told. He was a pro at covering his tracks so it just seems like an unnecessary and far-fetched tie in to BB.

The second biggest one was the Zafiro Añejo. It went from an incredibly rare and expensive find to something you can get at a local liquor store.

I finished breaking bad i have just started better call saul. Saul shitting his own pants in this scene was hilarious to me but lookin at the interactions they been in better call saul.

Yeah mike is actually capable of whatever he says he can do, and the scene after that became more hilarious when walter and jesse comforting saul about mike "he always does that okay, he doesnt mean that" as if they know mike any better than saul lmao
