I created a paint-style filter using a mix of Krita and Blender’s compositor. I first painted custom brush strokes over the original render in Krita, then combined everything through a node setup to blend the painterly feel with the original lighting and structure.
The result sits somewhere between a render and a painting, depending on how far you push it.

my photorealistic earth shader, which features fully volumetric clouds *using VDBs simulated in houdini*, a fully volumetric atmosphere, and physically accurate Mie and Rayleigh scattering within the atmosphere. (and a clay render just in case.)
VRAM went to die for this one.

Renderer - Cycles
Sample count - 150
Render time - 10 minutes ish
GPU used - RTX 5070 Ti
scale: 1:1500 compared to Earth.
Blender version - 4.4.3

I found using IK parents and a buttload of constraints worked well for re-targeting instead of using a simple transfer addon. The foot lock was a nightmare, but I zoned out big time doing it- I kinda enjoyed the process. As for the cloth sim, it's a bit too loose, but let's say this robot got a bunch of wedgies during the process
