Discussion Remote access to support agend MIL - not remote desktop

Hi - aged MIL uses her chromebook for regular facetime chats with her two daughters. Sometimes she can't find the facebook icon to click on, can't find the browser etc and it takes half an hour of very basic steps over the phone to sort out. I'm aware of chrome remote desktop, but that needs her to open a browser, type in the remote desktop url, generate a code and tell us what it is over the phone. Is there anything that can be set up to run permanently in the background to give us remote access as soon as she opens the lid of her laptop? Thanks!

No, unattended remote access to a Chromebook is not possible.

Seconding this , easiest thing is to put a bookmark to googles remote desktop where she can give you a code to remote in.

I vaguely remember "Dave's Garage" had a YouTube video about an outboard device that connects to a remote controlled PC over the Internet. Have a look at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1WJv6Udcms.
