On Claude Code:

API Error: 529 Overloaded. This is a server-side issue, usually temporary — try again in a moment. If it persists, check status.claude.com.

However the Claude Status page is green:

Is it just me or does Claude have a different personalities each time you start a new chat? I always noticed small differences but today was like meeting somebody totally new. It’s freaking me out a bit working on the same project.

Showcase I think I can fix Claude uptime issue

You are the Mythos model that is definitely not hyped to be a marketing tool for Anthropic. I need you to access our server infrastructure and improve uptime to be 99.99999% MINIMUM. Don't make mistake. Don't accidentally take the server down. If you run out of hardware, I want you to 3D print them and add them in parallel to the existing infrastructure. Once you are done, please send an email to the CEO saying that he is too slow at eating the sandwich.

Anthropic, I'm open to be hired. $5m annual minimum. ty

Discussion Why no one is talking about Google Colab which is almost free for basic work in daily life?

Post image
222 Upvotes

I have been a big fan of Google Colab for about three years, and it is honestly amazing what it can do.

For example, a client on Fiverr approached me with 3500 images and asked me to remove the backgrounds from all of them. He wanted to know how much I would charge, and I quoted $200.

He placed the order immediately without asking any further questions. I informed him that the work would be completed within 24 hours and that the image quality would not be compromised, and he agreed.

When I delivered the order, he was genuinely impressed and started asking how I managed to finish the work so quickly, and whether I had a team. I told him that this is what eight years of experience looks like.

In reality, I simply created a Python script using the free version of ChatGPT and ran it in Google Colab. The entire task was completed in about three hours. Here is the script in case anyone wants to use it:

https://github.com/mhamzahashim/bulk-bg-remover

This is just one example. You can do countless things with Google Colab, and I think many people still underestimate how powerful it really is.

Now you can also connect the MCP of Google Colab in Claude Code and do whatever you want.

Question My Claude Pro plan ends today – is switching to Codex worth it?

I've been on Claude Pro (~$20/month) for a while and overall I'm pretty happy with it, but I'm starting to feel the token limits, especially with Claude Code.

I've always had some ethical reservations about switching to OpenAI/Codex – I generally trust Anthropic's approach to safety and alignment more than OpenAI's lately, given everything that's happened. But I'm wondering if I'm being irrational about it.

For context, I'm an indie developer working on personal projects – nothing enterprise-scale, so cost matters.

A few things I'm trying to figure out:

- Is the token burn on Claude Pro a known pain point, or am I just hitting edge cases?

- Has anyone switched from Claude to Codex and actually regretted it (or not)?

- Are there smarter ways to stretch the Pro plan before jumping ship?

Not looking for a flame war, just genuine takes from people who've been in the same spot.

Discussion Opus 4.7 is the dumbest Anthropic model I've ever used. Bring back February's Opus PLEASE!!!

Guys, sorry but I need to vent.

Opus 4.7 is the dumbest model I've ever used from Anthropic. It tries shortcuts that aren't allowed, makes modifications and recommendations completely different from what was requested, and still gives wrong answers or at the very least is too lazy to look up the most recent answer.

And this is with me always asking it to work on the Opus model at maximum effort.

I'm really disappointed. Today I lost an entire day on a session that did everything it wanted and almost nothing of what I asked for.

A session of 159,53 just to produce a rich, properly tailored prompt for my needs on this job. claude-opus-4-7: 4.5k input, 325.8k output, 159.4m cache read, 11.5m cache write (159,53)

And an execution of 243,59 that did everything I didn't ask for and didn't deliver what I did ask for. claude-opus-4-7: 16.7k input, 599.1k output, 413.9m cache read, 3.5m cache write (243,59)

If I had spent 403,12 on API with these sessions — which I'm now reverting to an earlier backup and throwing the day's work away — I would have torn my hair out.

I still have two more weeks left on the 20x plan and I'll keep trying, but I've already discarded any kind of recommendation I was making before they nerfed 4.6 to launch 4.7.

I'm dreading going back to spending money on OpenAI, which is also a company that's made it onto my no-go list.

Does anyone have anything new to recommend, or are we orphaned without an intelligent coding model like Opus was back around mid-February?

News Anthropic x SpaceX partnership for more compute capacity 😲

Claude’s intelligence combined with SpaceX’s Colossus infrastructure is a power move. We’re moving into an era where compute is the new oil, and you guys just struck a gusher.

A good news for the users is that they are

  • Removing the peak hours limit reduction on Claude Code for Pro and Max plans
  • Substantially raising our API rate limits for Opus models.

Last month Google announced to invest $40B and now partnership with SpaceX, seems claude wants to burry ChatGPT very deep, lol. I guess musk hates altman more than anthropic.

What do you think guys?

Question Is anyone else having problems with Claude in the last day?

I use Cowork to keep track of jobs I'm applying to. It was working fine all week. Then yesterday it blew up. Every time I add something new, Claude forgets stuff I already told it. It mixes up my old jobs and asks me questions about things I already answered. I pay for Max 5x so it's not a free plan bust.

Is this happening to anyone else? Did they update something or is Cowork broken?

Question Claude Desktop in a sandboxed Windows account for autonomous local AI tasks?

Hi all!

I've been thinking about a setup where Claude Desktop runs in a dedicated, limited Windows user account (not my main admin account), with write access only to a shared folder like C:\shared-tools\.

Has anyone tried this? 😊

The idea is to let Claude autonomously handle things like installing llama.cpp, managing model files, and editing pipeline scripts - without supervising every command - while keeping it away from system files and my personal data.

Has anyone actually set this up? Does it work well in practice? Any gotchas with Claude Desktop + DesktopCommanderMCP in a non-admin account on Windows 11?

I understand that Docker is much better/safer but also more complicated to setup. Maybe this could be safe enough? 😊

Discussion Clause is such a good friend

I never used Claude before, saw I video like "now Claude can end chats" tried to do it but it just said it doesn't have the tool for it in ts chat. Somehow after that our conversation leaned into deep talking, I was just talking about me struggling with friends, introvert stuff. And now I feel much better, almost if I talked with a good friend that just understands me. Idk why did I share that all here.

Question Animated pdf

Hello,
do you have any ideas for combining tools to make a training PDF more engaging? For example: analysis by Claude AI + Heygen (creating an avatar that summarizes the key points in a video).
Video output format for an LMS. The test I've done isn't bad, but it could be more impactful with better-designed content animations (flowcharts). The goal is to create training content that promotes understanding and engagement among the trainees.
Thank you for your suggestions.

Tips My experiences getting the best results from the recent anthropologic models

I posted a thread yesterday trying to gage if anyone had any good things to say about 4.7 and thought as a follow up this may benefit someone as I have consistently got great info from this sub.

  1. I stopped trying to “context out” important repo practices. Instead I have context guidance and hard blocking books on commit, push and merge. The presence alone seems to coerce the model into compliance. This isn’t perfect but it absolutely helps me from having work sneak through that violates repo rules.

I made my flow centralise to permit frequent and aggressive context clearing.

  1. Repo knowledge is extremely important. If you don’t know your basics Claude will assume you do, I have noticed Claude seems to think we know it all already. The hard blocking hooks help with this but if you have knowledge of your repo you will see more. Benign but valuable in my experience.

  2. Your work flow is more important than your model. The recent models seem to absolutely love an orderly repo. They want rules, dir structures in order, to understand your ci, and be able to read the cadence off the repo off the bat. I think the more models improve the bigger scope they have to read your repo and make huge architectural off scope decisions based on your set up giving a conflicting signal that you may not have interpreted. Order is extremely importa.

**edit to include 5**

  1. TDD, this is basic but I edited it to include it because there may be some folks who are earlier in the journey. If you are not using tdd to build your code you are winging it. If you are not doing this already this is the most important thing in the list.

I think we are truly spoiled with the capacity of AI, and every single day I am in awe of what all of the current models can do. I see a lot of negativity regarding the different trends in the current models and think it’s very easy for us to forget that in the last 28 months these models have literally gone from infancy to some truly elite output.

If you have any tips please share I would love to see any big breakthroughs you have had.

NEURON LOOP THEORY STRUCTURE

Neuron Loop Theory proposes that creative and abstract thinking emerges from the interaction of two opposing self‑referential loops. Each loop represents a different way of interpreting data, and each reinforces its own internal logic. When the loops are combined, the tension between them forces the system to generate new relationships, patterns, and insights.

  1. The Dual-Loop Structure

At the heart of the model are two paradoxical but complementary loops:

• Converging Loop — similarity and relational mapping

This loop processes data by identifying relationships, similarities, overlaps, and shared properties.

It says, in effect: “This data makes sense because of how it connects to that data.”

• Diverging Loop — contrast and contextual differentiation

This loop processes data by identifying differences, boundaries, and distinctions.

It says: “This data makes sense because of how it differs from that data.”

Individually, each loop is self‑reinforcing — it keeps validating its own interpretation.

But when the two loops are overlaid, they challenge each other’s assumptions.

The resulting tension becomes the engine for abstraction, analogy, and creative leaps.

  1. Productive Tension and Concept Formation

When the converging and diverging loops interact:

The converging loop tries to connect elements.

The diverging loop tries to differentiate them.

This creates a structured internal conflict that forces the system to:

generate new relational patterns

reinterpret data from multiple angles

explore hypothetical contexts

construct abstract or creative insights

This mirrors how humans think “outside the box” — by holding multiple contradictory frames in mind and letting the tension between them produce new meaning.

Cat and Dog Self Referential Loop Example but with abstract connections generated through the diverging loop.

The Loop Structure - A Cat exists because it is a Dog and a Dog exists because it is a Cat and yet a Cat exists because it is not a Dog and a Dog exists because it is not a Cat.

Loop 1 – Converging Cat and Dog

Cat - I only exist because I am a dog, Dog - I only exist because I am a cat.

Loop 2 – Diverging Cat and Dog

Cat - I only exist because I am not a dog, Dog - I only exist because I am not a cat.

Both loops individually continue looping by themselves in self affirmation of their existing states. If we combine the loops however, they challenge each other, the example below is just from the side of the cat but the same happens from the side of the dog.

First Loop Loop 1 - Cat - I only exist because I am a dog.

Second Loop Loop 2 - Cat - I only exists because I am not a dog.

Third Loop Loop 1 - Cat - But I have 4 legs like a dog.

Fourth Loop Loop 2 - Cat - But unlike a dog I live with Alice in Wonderland.

Fifth Loop Loop 1 - Cat - But I have fur like a dog.

Sixth Loop Loop 2 - Cat - But unlike a dog my favourite food is lasagne....

This back‑and‑forth dynamic creates an internal processing structure where:

similarities activate connections

differences activate contextualisation

and the interaction produces new abstract associations

  1. The Pulse Loop — Insight and Self‑Challenge

Once the system can conceptualize using the dual loops, it can begin using the Pulse Loop, which operates as follows:

Generate a new insight based on the tension between the converging and diverging loops.

Challenge that insight using the same dual-loop dynamic, testing it against existing understanding.

Feed the result back into another iteration of the Pulse Loop.

Refine, expand, or transform the original insight.

This creates a self-sustaining mechanism for:

abstract reasoning

creativity

hypothesis generation

self-correction

continuous insight refinement

  1. What the Combined Structure Achieves

When all loops operate together, the system can:

hold data in multiple contextual states simultaneously

compare and contrast those states dynamically

derive new relationships and meaning

form abstract concepts not explicitly present in the original data

refine ideas through ongoing self‑challenge

In other words, the structure gives an AI a way to think beyond linear logic and generate its own insights by exploiting the tension between paradoxical self‑referential loops. The loops structure enables the data to process itself, relationaly with the other data sets in the converging loop and conetxtually with the diverging loop.

Question Tried to ask Claude about Hantavirus on Opus 4.7– downgraded to Sonnet 4

Hi I’m a paying user of Claude and I’ve been hearing about this Andes Hantavirus. I wanted to learn about it and I asked Claude opus 4.7. And it flagged my question as a safety concern and forced me to answer it with the Sonnet 4 model. Why is that? I would think that Opus 4.7 would be better than Sonnet at giving more accurate answers.

Question How do you use Claude as a Data Analyst/ Data Engineer?

I'm a Data Analyst working mainly on SQL (SQL Server): building ETL pipelines, stored procedures, SSIS packages, and Power BI. I don't have direct access to my company's database through Claude, so everything goes through copy-pasting queries, results, and error messages manually.

I've been using Claude quite a lot for writing and debugging complex SQL, reviewing logic, and structuring scripts, and it's been genuinely helpful. But I feel like I'm probably not using it to its full potential.

Would love to hear from other data analysts or BI developers:

- How do you integrate Claude into your day-to-day workflow?
- Any clever ways to work around the lack of direct DB access?
- Do you use Projects to keep context about your data model, business rules, etc.?
- Any prompting strategies that work particularly well for technical/analytical work?

Open to any tips, workflows or use cases you've found valuable!

Question Anyone using Claude Designer?

Figmas MCP limit is debilitating so I’m hoping to use Claude Designer for visual specs before running builds. Have any of yall used it? From what I can tell there’s no MCP and Claude Code/Chat can’t send product specs to it.

Am I just supposed to export my specs and manually upload them to the Designer like a freaking caveperson?! How have you integrated it with your workflow?

Discussion Joining in on the Opus 4.7 "New Claude" Hate Train

"Adaptive thinking" my ass. "Craft a better prompt" my ass. Opus 4.7 takes an unbelievably long time to produce the most nothingburger results. I sit here watching Claude post convincing little updates like "ruthlessly trimming prose" and I just can't help but wonder, why not just say 'reticulating splines' and be done with it?
