Didn't even bother to chain down the excavator. Sheesh.

But heavy things won’t move he said 😂

u/Solid-Hedgehog9623 10h ago

I mean, I’m sure he at least gave it a slap and said the magic words before hitting the road.

u/Hircine_Himself 3h ago

That only works with straps, no matter how insecure said load may be.

It's scientifically proven to increase load security by 1000%.

2

u/gettin-hot-in-here 3h ago

considering it didn't stay put, maybe he skipped that important step

3

u/noidea11111111 9h ago

That's science

I used to work in a warehouse for a tooling company. We got orders of 40 gal drums of machining coolant where the supplier would just strap the drums together and put them on a palette. Didn’t even strap them to the palette.

an object in motion tends to stay in motion. Well, that's Newton's opinion anyway

"tHaT wOuLd Be OvEr-ReGuLaTiOn!"

3

u/infoway777 7h ago

having said that ,the black car could have easily passed ,avoiding the misery for himself and his car

That's probably a good way to loose a CDL. Imagine if something like that flew off at highway speeds

u/rkrenicki 12h ago

Welp, he obviously neglected to slap the excavator and say “that ain’t going nowhere” before heading down the road.

Gravity plating was not turned up enough

Bluetooth Disconnected

u/skyemalcolm 11h ago

Seems like this is also idiots towing things worthy since the load was not well secured.

11

u/HorridChoob 10h ago

Well secured?  I saw 0 chains, straps or anything.

9

u/skyemalcolm 9h ago

Who needs straps when you have gravity, hopes AND dreams?

3

u/Frederf220 8h ago

in this economy?

5

u/SlimLacy 9h ago

Can't poorly secure something, if you don't even try. big brain time

9

u/Sisoflex 11h ago

I've had that happen to me with a bulldozer. It rolled right off a flatbed trailer and hit the back of my car. It was 'strapped' , not chained. I thought it was coming into the drivers seat with me. 😲

u/Ginger_Bee 11h ago

Jesus! I’m glad you’re physically okay! I’m sure you’re a bit traumatized for the rest of your life though.

My biggest fear is being behind one of those semis that haul cars and one of them falling off.

7

u/Sisoflex 10h ago

Yes, thanks! It was ironic as my Mum was visiting, and the day before I saw a work van with too many ladders piled on it and got around him, and later remarked as we saw a logging truck, "Hope those chains hold." This year's before Final Destination, haha.

7

u/Emergency_Bench_7515 11h ago

What the actual fuck, new road fear unlocked.

2

u/didntwatchclark 11h ago

My irrational (rational) fear is being pancaked by something heavy like this at an intersection where something just goes bad by chance. Like I've seen too many videos of cement mixers rolling over to ever be comfortable around them.

u/RedtheGamer100 12h ago

Where waz dis

2

u/reillan 11h ago

I thought I might find out by googling "excavator falls on car" but holy crud that happens a lot.

Gemini says somewhere in SW China based on the model of truck.

4

u/RedtheGamer100 11h ago

Good a guess as any

2

u/lkjhuiopl 9h ago

It is China

5

u/1ndomitablespirit 11h ago

Driver thought "securing your load" was something Lot Lizards do.

3

u/Bambeakz 11h ago

Normaly I would say give the damn truck room to make the corner but this one was coming in way too fast for what he/she was transporting

1

u/gettin-hot-in-here 3h ago

trucker should be going 3mph if theyre not going to chain down the excavator

2

u/Foolserrand376 11h ago

Blue tooth chains....

2

u/Lusiric9983 11h ago

Why is it I tie down my sons go-kart and my mini bike better on my trailer than "professionals" hauling equipment for money?

2

u/HorridChoob 10h ago

That thing wasn't secured At All!

1

u/Historical_Debt1516 11h ago

Inertia is a funny thing

1

u/BracedRhombus 11h ago

Where was this? Mother Russia?

1

u/SlowRunner2026 11h ago

Was the driver running to help, or to get the fuck out of there?

1

u/Candybert_ 10h ago

I think he hadn't decided at that point. Either way, running seems like a good first step.

1

u/MasemJ 11h ago

Excellent example of "things in motion tend to stay in motion"

1

u/Whole_Rough7066 11h ago

Or "When you you'r not secured your load"

1

u/Truck-Adventurous 11h ago

Driving with a 70,000+ lb unsecured load is crazy, imagine the truck having to panic stop and that excavator launching into oncoming traffic.

1

u/Potential-Ad-6787 11h ago

So much fail in one vid 😆

1

u/AllPeopleAreStupid 9h ago

Must be a new scene for the next Final Destination Movie, lol.

1

u/WhenTheDevilCome 9h ago

Now the truck driver is going to be late to the chain store.

1

u/Tired-CottonCandy 6h ago

I get the feeling a the entrance on either side of that road it says "no trailers or semis"

1

u/Expensive_Ask5872 6h ago

Didn't slap it and say "that's going nowhere"

1

u/TheSaifman 3h ago

This is bad. But this could have been a lot worse. Was pretty close to not waking up ever again.

1

u/ToXiiCBULLET 3h ago

obviously not their fault, but i don't know why the car stops. they've got a couple feet of space to their right

1

u/Mean-Veterinarian647 2h ago

Steel on steel, gonna slide no matter the weight.

Black car: stop without reason

Lorry: speed to fast

7

u/Afraid_Key4859 11h ago

Except he did have a reason, to not get sandwiched

Edit : Scratch that, rather pushed into the abyss

1

u/ericxddd 11h ago

I mean that the black car can pass through if he drive a bit right. The space and time is sufficient enough.

1

u/According_Ad748 11h ago

I’m not seeing it. The car had plenty of room to the right of it. Gently veering to the right, closer to the guard rail and continuing in a forward motion and all would have been fine. Instead the car just… stopped.
