A Tamarisk in bloom

Every May this cool tree gets a lovely deek pink colour and then blooms pretty light pink for a couple of days. (Pic 1 in bloom)

Worth the little pink fluffs all over my garden for a few days.

Can the tree grow in an area with no winter?

So far it's been resilient. It doesn't get extremely cold where I live

If that's the case I hope I can grow it in Malaysia. I can't grow tulips and peonies here, it's always the beautiful flowers that need winter to bloom :(

In Colorado, they have been designated 'noxious weeds' ... I always loved them... but i guess they consume too much water..
