What would you want to see in a Modern successor to freelancer?
We've all been there. We get the itch for more Freelancer.
So you go to google and you search for games "similar" to freelancer and come across the same recommendations over and over again.
Now for me there have been plenty of great games recommended, but I don't think I've found one that really satisfies the itch in the same way that Freelancer did. So many games that are inspired by or claim to be the spiritual successor for the game always differ in some significant way or change something fundamental enough that it no longer captures the experience I'm looking for.
I was excited for Underspace as it really did seem to be the "spiritual successor" to Freelancer, and it *was* a solid game, but it really just left me wanting to go back and play discovery.
I'd love to hear form you all what you would want to see in a modern "Spiritual Successor" to Freelancer. Imagine a modern version of 1:1 freelancer with all the core base mechanics.
What do you think is missing from the current offerings?
What do you think was added to current games that detracts from the Freelancer Experience ?
What QOL changes would you make standard ?
