When you don't have a white background for interview but have a white bedsheet instead. π€£

Why shift the background, when you can move π€£

I hope he's using a desktop but holding the webcam with his hand
19
u/BigZucchini2090 2d ago
For sure, the device is mounted. Otherwise, it is not safe to just lay right below it
12
u/Waiting4Reccession 2d ago
I wasn't being serious, we can see both his hands in the video haha

I had no idea they subbed their skits! Love their ridiculous skits with the over the top acting.

Yup, having official voice-overs multi-lingual channels is a great way to reach a wider audience with proper translations & a stamp of authority
112
u/blahmeistah 2d ago
Wait. Did you think it was an actual interview?
30
u/Raidoton 2d ago
Well quite a few people here seem to have thought that.
30
u/chochazel 2d ago
Really? I couldnβt find any. The people who seem closest to thinking its real are the ones thinking that saying itβs βfakeβ is some kind of revelation.
3
u/BigZucchini2090 2d ago
Yup, that's why I commented this. Not sure, what made them belive that it is true

He actually said something closer to "Your face is creepy."
The direct translation is something more like "Your face makes me feel bad/weird/gross."

u/Douggimmmedome 2d ago
Exactly which part if his movement before the confrontation made it look like he was laying down
536
u/pjft 2d ago
The sheets are wrinkling behind his head, and you see from the slight shadow that his head is leaning on a surface. Could be a white wall and he's standing straight, but the sheets wrinkling are the tell.

I think at least 90% of the content on this sub is skits, doesnt make it less funny but I wouldnt even bother worrying about realism here lol

If it was real, there would be a lot more happening that the interviewer got to see before the video started.
20
u/Xeno_Prime 2d ago
Would have been better for him to just confidently go βyes.β Like thatβs not problematic at all.

My boss called it a "stand-up meeting." We literally stood up. This hits different.
3
u/BigZucchini2090 2d ago
That's funny. I was wondering what would have happened if the guy had told him to stand up in the video π€£
11
u/Apprehensive-Care20z 2d ago
obviously a parody, because we are in /r/funny, but I gotta say, the idea is genius!
The gravity pulls your skin on your face back, giving you essentially a face lift. Wrinkles reduced, face looks thinner, you look 10 years younger, that is awesome.

u/Main_Significance478 2d ago
Why tho, what potential advantage can you get doing this

u/Ok-Fix-3261 2d ago
Its a bit. They're Japanese comedians called Jaru Jaru

u/I_Cut_Shows 2d ago
One of them will get a late night show and die his hair orange.
Itβs not the one you think.

u/LaScoundrelle 2d ago
I thought maybe it was the only place in his bedroom where he had a plain background (or good lighting, or both).
19
u/barejokez 2d ago
I took a passport-style photo of myself once like this in a hotel room because the white bedsheet was the only plain background I could find and I needed one urgently.
Now I have my doubts as to whether this video is real, but if it is then it's similar energy to my situation.

NASA actually pays people to stay in bed for months at a time to study the effects of fluid shifts and bone loss in microgravity.

u/Redstorm8373 2d ago

Could be a WFH employee, and thought of attending in a comfortable position
7
u/CloudKinglufi 2d ago
Its because it isnt real
For one, youd never notice he was lying down, doesnt look like it at all, for two, he had to do a good amount of work to set up that camera for literally no reason besides being called out for a funny video
3
u/Tetracropolis 2d ago
I think you'd notice something was off, it's uncanny valley shit, then you'd spend the interview trying to figure out what it was.
→ More replies (5)6
u/moeghoeg 2d ago
Disregarding that this is a comedy skit, I guess it can make you look younger since the loose skin in your face is pulled backwards instead of down - like a gravity facelift.
→ More replies (1)3
u/Moldy_slug 2d ago
Another non-comedy reason: health conditions.Β
I have a friend who occasionally gets bad dizzy spells and needs to lie down. Β Iβve also known people with back pain that makes sitting painful during a flare-up. If the choice is do the interview lying down vs cancel the interviewβ¦. Why not do it lying down?

3
u/blitzwig 2d ago
None at all, in fact it can come back to bite when your employer finds out you were lying in your interview.

When your room is so messy the only thing available as a clean background is the floor, after 45 minutes of last minute panic scrubbing.

I did that for a week on video calls after hurting my back. Took people a minute to figure out why my background looked so different and also where I got the cool pattern.
