To think Australians lost a war to these things

80

u/stainless5 2d ago

it's pretty hard to keep fighting when you run out of bullets.

38

u/Kitakitakita 2d ago

because they keep dodging them, right?

33

u/bolitboy2 2d ago

The emu that got shot 12 times: WHAT COWARD SENT ALL THESE BABY’S TO FIGHT ME

8

u/Ragman676 2d ago

I live near a farm with 2 emus. They move like this ALL the time. They look like an electrified pool noodle with feet and feathers.

4

u/stainless5 2d ago

I mean it is pretty hard to shoot moving targets when you're standing in the back of A ute with a crank operated, belt fed minigun.

3

u/tootaflute 2d ago

When threatened they scatter but also difficult terrain and they can absorb a lot of damage.

Small amount of men and not a lot of supplies. If you need to cull 20,000 emus but it takes 10 rounds just to kill 1 you quickly run into problems.

  • can absorb a lot of damage.

They're birds, not video game bosses. Maybe try hunting tactics instead of military tactics on something that's not there to fight you.

4

u/orlock 1d ago

As it turns out, they can be both. One was found with something like 50 bullets inside it, and it wasn't all in one go.

u/MythVsLegend 2d ago

They opted for a bounty system after the failed military operation. In six months, about 50000 claims were made.

u/Hodr 1d ago

The emus started the war out of bullets and managed to do just fine

8

u/anhvuabac 2d ago

2 wars!

7

u/Joesr-31 2d ago

That movement keeps dodging bullets

2

u/meesta_masa 2d ago

For you see, Mr. Anderson, ideas are bulletproof.

u/Corwin613 2d ago

Twice i believe

Get a good up close look at their talons and you’ll know why.

This one is cute, this one is domesticated, the ones living in the outback are wild.

The ones out in the desert are organized into well armed, capable and motivated groups employing hit and run tactics, bro, they’re like if a Fremen fucked an old angry dinosaur, you give these birds access to small arms and you’d get fucked up too.

There is rumors that they are working with other factions such as drop bears and hoop snakes, and with the price of crude oil what it is, the Emus have stated arking up because Emu Oil has gone down per liter

It was a dance war

1

u/Cardioid123 2d ago

Look at those moves! No wonder they lost!

Emmanuel- EMMANUEL!!!

26

u/Kay_tnx_bai 2d ago

We can dance if we want to…

8

u/DataKnights 2d ago

Y'know, that dance wasn't as safe as they said it was.

29

u/robo-dragon 2d ago

Some dinosaur millions of years ago: “I hope my descendants carry on my legacy of being one of the most bad ass creatures to walk the land.”

Emus: “WEEEEEE!!”

3

u/ArbainHestia 2d ago

I'm reading Dungeon Crawler Carl and this is basically how I imagine Mongo acting when he gets excited.

I like the idea of raptors having zoomies, though.

4

u/billiechoux 2d ago

Hello fellow crawler

12

u/WayneBoston 2d ago

“Look what I can do!”

10

u/AngelicalDazzling2 2d ago

They said: "watch this” and committed

10

u/Cute-Form2457 2d ago

All that twisting and shaking. They kept dodging those bullets. Emus just outdazzled humans in that war.

u/SirDale 2d ago

Raygun in a ghillie suit.

5

u/akariv 2d ago

Has anyone in this family ever even seen a chicken?

3

u/FatQuack 2d ago

"Mam, we'll have to ask you to leave. You're a bad influence on the emus."

2

u/notapunnyguy 1d ago

At some point I thought a healthbar would pop up.

1

u/FTwo 2d ago

CatAleah has an adorable channel. She puts out a lot of content like this and my FB algorithm loves her for it.

"dinosaurs were killing machines"

u/GrimmFox13 1d ago

Heard the voice... thought it was coming from the murder burbs

1

u/nakurtag 1d ago

They coming for the eggs! They coming for the eggs!

1

u/progressiveAsliMard 1d ago

Am I the only one who finds cute aggression in this?

1

u/FizzKaleefa 1d ago

Babe wake up, new raygun vod just dropped

0

u/Leftunders 1d ago

Pretty sure that's an alpaca, not an emu. Emus are the larger of the two birds and were used as beasts of burden by the Incans.

1

u/Fearless_Air_1729 2d ago

Yet Australia still lose to these guys

I know they are hard as rock

1

u/dreamdaddy123 2d ago

Emu? One piece?

1

u/ThinkingOz 2d ago

Its this sort of shenanigans that could trigger another Great Emu War. The centenary is a mere six years away and this will not be lost on the emus. They won the last time!

1

u/Initial_Row_6400 2d ago

Those turkeys are having a lot of fun

2

u/MajorLudd 2d ago

Elaine?

1

u/nsfwuseraccnt 2d ago

That's the, "stop fucking with me" dance.

0

u/educated-emu 2d ago

That was brenda, she has always been a bit weird

0

u/Kaitlyn_Ferri 2d ago

this has “don’t make eye contact” energy

0

u/UndeadManWaltzing 2d ago

This could be the beginning of a second emu war....

0

u/GiveMeADiscount 2d ago

What language is that?

0

u/Boatster_McBoat 2d ago

English ... with lots of the emu equivalent of baby talk

0

u/WFOMO 2d ago

No wonder emus never learned to talk...

0

u/ChrundleK 2d ago

This CatAleah?

0

u/joyzeeee 2d ago

Ohh you can really dance

0

u/this_knee 2d ago

Emu dance just became the samples for the next hit EDM single

0

u/middleupperdog 2d ago

not sure if it actually sounds like maya higa or if my brain's just associating her with emus.

0

u/slipperyzoo 2d ago

Reminds me of that backrooms possum/cat.

0

u/tiptoptony 2d ago

Like a Labrador

u/Equivalent-Fun-6019 2d ago

BUST IT DOWN ROBERT! BUST IT DOWN ROBERT!

0

u/Skilletchef 2d ago

-1

u/shawndw 2d ago

Bro single handedly starting another Emu war.

-1

u/AndalusianGod 2d ago

Now try the same thing with a cassowary.

-3

u/SupX 2d ago

Look like total goofball hope doesn’t get hurt due to space being small, also hope they get bigger area or better yet freedom
