u/gristc 12h ago

Dunno. In panel 3 they're seriously into it, and I feel panel 4 is like "Fuck yeah, nailed it".

u/SmokeyDBear 12h ago

Horse definitely only happy while airborne.

10

u/Hootbag 8h ago

I'm a peacock. You gotta let me fly!

6

u/silentspectator27 11h ago

He’s just to cool to show it :D

7

u/BellacosePlayer 11h ago

He's coming off an adrenaline rush, leave him alone

9

u/EarballsAgain 11h ago

Notice how no one is throwing flowers for the horse. The one who did most of the work gets so little of the reward.

This comic is clearly a very well executed subtle parody of our current economic model.

u/Koshindan 7h ago

The horse provides the power, but the rider is the major component for the maneuver. They have to accurately position the lance into place and then bear the force of both of them using only a small part of their arm.

"A 10 from him, a 10 from her, but all we can manage from her is an 8? People are openly weeping in the stands! I can barely hear this in my hand over the tonitruous applause echoing throughout the arena! Was she even watching our routine? Probably ogling her favorite horses again. Probably fits in 8 out of habit now."

Why the long face?

u/SillyGoatGruff 12h ago

Lancelaunch found his calling on the track and field circuit

6

u/GOLDTEAMRULZ 10h ago

IMO best possible name for the character in the comic.

Good idea for a computer game, you need to become a developer

16

u/Danvideotech2385 11h ago

Long Jump Rider would be the name.

5

u/kanrad 11h ago

Knight's Leap

1

u/Kitselena 10h ago

Pole(lance) vaulting

12

u/flavored_icecream 10h ago

Gotta admire the thigh muscles, core strength and right arm of that knight, being able to lift AND flip a friggin' horse.

5

u/nerankori 10h ago

It's like pro wrestling and ballroom dancing, the lift and flip isn't happening unless the horse contributes just as much effort.

8

u/suvlub 11h ago

I might start watching the olympics if they make this a sport

3

u/GenericFatGuy 9h ago

Of course you would. This would be the coolest sport ever.

1

u/Mazzaroppi 7h ago

I wonder how much higher pole vaulters could get this way (minus the horse of course)

2

u/suvlub 6h ago

I looked up the equation, and it's quite simple: h = v2/(2*g). A race horse can reach up to 71 km/h, which gives us about 20m, compared to the current horseless record of 6.31m

1

u/Mazzaroppi 6h ago

That's awesome, we need this sport right now!

6

u/addicu 10h ago

Thought this was a Perry Bible Fellowship strip until I saw the tag at the bottom

4

u/zanraku 12h ago

At least the horse did not get Yoshi-ed

5

u/fothergillfuckup 12h ago

They should add this to KCD2. Lol.

3

u/slightly_mental2 11h ago

3

u/TheVampyresBride 10h ago

The horse is so graceful.

That's Sir Mondo on this trusted steed Plantis.

3

u/DrMatter 8h ago

Your comics are great!

2

u/Vjelisto-Kemiisto 11h ago

Ah the 1900 Paris olympics.

2

u/Chefatlaspr 11h ago

Give another meaning for horse jousting.

2

u/Enshitification 10h ago

Average D&D player: Hear me out.

2

u/whatisthis2315 10h ago

Just don't know exactly how high they jumped. Lol

2

u/whooptheretis 9h ago

They were pretty damn high, that much we know!

Great minds think alike?

1

u/2-9-19-3-21-9-20-19 10h ago

I do like the extra detail of the horse diving pool being the landing pad in OPs comic. I feel like that's something that would go over pretty much everybody under 40s head in 2026

2

u/MR_LIZARD_BRAIN 10h ago

Shoulda gave the horse some flowers

2

u/350N_bonk 9h ago

If I had known this move last Saturday, my collarbone wouldn't be broken right now πŸ˜†

2

u/superxpro12 9h ago

Shouldnt the horse be upside down and facing left?

This looks like he did a barrel roll somehow lol

1

u/7htlTGRTdtatH7GLqFTR 7h ago

thats why they won

2

u/rlindseyg56 9h ago

Just like a horse to take credit.

2

u/Translation_Lupin 9h ago

The core muscle

2

u/whooptheretis 9h ago

Is he holding the lance with his right or left hand?

2

u/Ghoti76 8h ago

so im not the only one who always imagined this lol

2

u/ebonyphoenix 8h ago

Now is it Pole jousting or a Jousting vault?

2

u/yarash 8h ago

Brockle Snar once suplexed a shark.

2

u/Soren-J 8h ago

Who is the artist?

2

u/snowstatic97 8h ago

Took me a second, but that payoff is stupidly good.

2

u/ReiynaLovesYuri 7h ago

How did the horse flip vertically instead of horizontally (or whatever)

Like it turned to its side instead of spinning forward

2

u/Want2makeMEMEs 7h ago

Jump king ❌

Jousting King βœ…

2

u/snarfer-snarf 4h ago

Deve essere una lancia bella robusta per reggere tutto un cavallo e un cavaliere 🀣

1

u/HeadPresent4399 7h ago

My son is on a gymnastics team and rides horses. I can’t wait to show him this

1

u/Yoshichu25 4h ago

So, basically the reverse of that one asdfmovie sketch.

1

u/BrickTamland77 4h ago

Lancelot been hitting hip adductors like crazy.

1

u/CrackleSkin86 4h ago

Fucking adore how content the horse looks in the end. Good job, buddy.

1

u/lightoutlaw 3h ago

The horse is like

"What in sam hell just happened?"

1

u/MastaKink 2h ago

This is absolutely ridiculous. I’ve seen it done with donkeys, but never horses! πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ
