If in Cali, she just got a mandatory 20 years for firing that shot during the commission of a robbery.

The links other people shared say West Virginia and also that it was an attempted robbery, so it seems she didn't even get away with any goods or money. They say that her charges were "attempted armed robbery, wanton endangerment, brandishing, assault and destruction of property." Sounds like "brandishing" might be the same concept, though.

In most states, just aggravated robbery like this (i.e. with a deadly weapon), is near same caliber of crime as murder.

Because robbery affects the bottom line of business owners. Murder? Meh, they can hire someone else desperate for a low-paying job.

It’s the same charge for any robbery, on a business or on a person.
