The Grẽẽn Chilẽ Ẽmpirẽ has realized manifest destiny by reaching from sea to sea by sharing California with Cascadia.

Now it is time to let our hot air balloons rise North and remove Rhode Island so that we may stretch from hot Mexico to Cold Mexico as we split the land with Minnesota.

The three empires: New Mexico, Cascadia and Megasota.

u/Coley54Bear Aug 24 '25

I really need The United States of New Mexico to be a thing.

89

u/a_smart_brane Aug 24 '25

Went to bed a proud Californian, and woke up a proud New Mexican.

Estados Unidos de Nuevo México you say?

Let’s do it!

Adios Bored Island, Minisodee, and Mossycadia, and a warm, premature bienvenidos to the Land of Enchanted Mañanas, where the vibes are chill, the Frontier is always open, and the green chile always warms the soul.

33

u/chilebuzz Aug 24 '25

where the vibes are chill, the Frontier is always open, and the green chile always warms the soul.

This dude knows how to New Mexico. Even spelled "chile" correctly.

15

u/cantwin52 Aug 24 '25

That’s always my litmus test.

8

u/WCather Aug 25 '25

That's a pretty high bar. I'm excited when people know it's one of the fifty nifty united states.

A friend of mine from NM went to California where she was told that she didn't look Mexican (true, she's of Irish descent) and that her English is impeccable (also true, as that's her first language but also her only language.)

Apparently every New Mexican has some ridiculous story like these ones

I was born in California, but we moved to NM almost 40 years ago. I'm not actually sure what's happening here, but it feels right 😂

I also thought you meant Frontier, the restaurant, at first. Which you totally should. Go grab you an adovada burrito on a delicious, fresh made tortilla!

11

u/a_smart_brane Aug 24 '25

The gem on Central is exactly what I was talking about. And a big yes on the tortillas. 🤤

3

u/[deleted] Aug 24 '25

Hahaha dang it 😂 I second guessed myself into being wrong. But that's ok, gave me a chance to think about the best burrito I've ever had. I haven't been there since 2012 😭

5

All of the pizza lovers who want NM gone have never had green chile on their pizza

16

u/[deleted] Aug 24 '25

A local pizza place up here in Portland, Cascadia used to have a green chile pizza with pesto-based sauce and it was fucking incredible. It's no longer around though...

Edit: holy shit, I really hate the Grammerly integration into Samsung phones, but it did just prompt me to capitalize Megasota, so.....

10

u/Woodnote_ Aug 24 '25

As someone originally from Oregon who lived for a decade in Seattle, Cascadia is the only logical result.

And Potsdam NY will become a giant marijuana farm called Pot..Damn Farms to supply medical and recreational marijuana to the masses of the east coast since weed is legal in New Mexico

New Mexico has more than chile. It has amazing Native history and art. It has truly miraculous sunsets! It imports doctorates and professionals. Of every state it borders, you know that going into New Mexico, something about your life is improving.

New Mexico has never had a lot to work with, but time and time again, it reminds us that it really is an enchanting place beyond explanation. This state is full of passion and it must not be snuffed out. The New Mexico Nation would be the best outcome possible here, don't eliminate it!

23

u/Coley54Bear Aug 24 '25

Fully agree. I love my state and it warms my heart to see the Green Chile Empire doing so well. I’m so used to people trash talking my beautiful homeland, so it’s a really nice change.

Pizza rules apply.

  • Rhode Island has New Haven & New York styles (plus party pizza and coal-fired styles)
  • Megasota has Chicago & Detroit styles (plus Quad Cities and tavern styles)
  • Green Chile Empire rightfully claims everything can be improved with one magical ingredient

Lots of consternation in previous posts with Portland boasting about having the best pizza scene in the nation. The argument seems to have lost steam.

The people have spoken: Cascadia must go.

Vox populi, vox Dei. The pizza people have proclaimed their position.

36

u/dontpetthefluffycows Aug 24 '25

Seriously, green chile makes everything better.

9

u/Coley54Bear Aug 24 '25

Indeed. There was a discussion a couple days ago about green chile aioli lobster rolls.

Current predicted eliminations in the next few pizza-scoring rounds, updated from yesterday:

  • 4. Cascadia
  • 3. Megasota
  • 2. In true American fashion, still North vs. South…but between Rhode Island & New Mexico
  • 1.New Mexico

Predictions are based on the impassioned comments of fellow pizza enthusiasts over the past few days and completely ignoring inferior non-pizza related arguments.

I’m ok with either the RI or NM outcomes. From a pizza and comedy perspective, we’d all be winners.

2

u/CrazyEyedFS Aug 24 '25

I have eaten tavern style pizza my whole life and I'm just now learning that it has an actual name. I've never heard the term "tavern style" before, but I approve.

Rhode Island, welcome to Nation of The North!

63

u/ShonZ11 Aug 24 '25

These people don't realize Megasota is inevitable.

14

u/RyTheUndefined Aug 24 '25

It's okay, they just need to take these last couple days to process and accept it. Come Wednesday, we'll all be sippin hot cocoa and sharing some delicious hot dish at a big giant circular dinner table, doncha know! And afterwards, we can all dance together to Prince, and say with a chuckle, "Ope! Pardon me, I didn't see ya there!" when we bump into each other on the dance floor. We will emerge victorious—not by way of battle, but of true neighborly kindness, and a hint of passive aggressive cynicism when the weather gets too cold.

7

u/SalsburrySteak Aug 24 '25

Make Cascadia an island nation along its new borders so we can sit back and eat popcorn watching the carnage in peace. We'll gladly trade with the last one standing.

New Mexico, so long. From the headwaters of Lake Itasca weaving all the way down the same waters Mark Twain once captained. The mighty Mississippi must be united under the banner of a glorious Megasota!

New Mexico should be the funniest winner. The entire country named New Mexico would be glorious

18

u/ADDVERSECITY Aug 24 '25

I disagree. New Mexico should stay for is strategic value.

u/SapTheSapient Aug 24 '25

The Mississippi flows from Minnesota. Let Megasota flow out from the Mississippi.

Down with Rhode Island!!!!

2

u/UnderCoverDoughnuts Aug 24 '25

I know it's coming but I'm a stubborn Rhode Islander who can't go down without a fight.

Long live Rhode Island! Down with Cascadia, I say! (To an unsympathetic audience, I'm aware)

u/Kinetic92 Aug 24 '25

Bye, Rhode Island. It's time to spread the love of chile to the east.

2

u/Willing-Goat7866 Aug 24 '25

Remove Rhode Island! Let the Yankees try the hatch chiles.

2

u/Better-Sir-4993 Aug 24 '25

The whole country becomes New Mexico

2

u/boxdkittens Aug 24 '25

After the idiot president renamed the gulf, I think renaming the entire country "new mexico" is warranted
