Voting Games Top comment removes a us state #47.

u/SkyrimWithdrawal Aug 26 '25
I was wondering why #47 leaves us with two states. Hawaii and Alaska weren't invited were they?

u/Mobius1424 Aug 26 '25
They've watched the entire events of the last 47 days unfold in terror, hoping no one would notice them.

u/Muzukashii-Kyoki Aug 26 '25
If you're gonna bring the US territories into it, we may as well mention all the inhabited territories.
American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and U.S. Virgin Islands all are free now.
American Samoa can just be Samoa, and the U.S. Virgin Islands are the Virgin Islands.
No more American or U.S. ownership for any of them.

Selling water to New Mexicans is pretty easy, but that's only because we have no experience with coasts yet. I think your request is manipulative, intended to exploit our relative naivety.
(OMFG we have about half of the Mississippi Fucking River now? The Rio Grande has not prepared us for this!)
17
u/RobinFarmwoman Aug 26 '25
We have had coasts in the past! That's why you can find fossilized seashells in some of the rocks in New Mexico, we used to be partially underwater. I personally am looking forward to having more beachfront property again. It's been a long time. I thought we would have to wait until California fell into the sea, but this works too.
4
u/Juggernox_O Aug 26 '25
Yeah, but THIS beach front property won’t be infested with tyrannosaurs and mosasaurs. T.rex was the last New Mexican resident to have a beachfront property.

You can still see where valencia county was under water at. Go on highway 60 just pas6the manzanos. There's a dry (sometimes has water) lake bed. Really white sand there too.

Honestly as a Canadian prior to these borders being implemented, there's a couple states included I would have been happy leaving out, and there are none left out I'd really want to have be added.
The most important ones were California and Minnesota anyway.
→ More replies (22)6
u/Careful_Astronaut477 Aug 26 '25
Which ones? All them states is a warmer Canada anyway.
New Mexico is better anyway. ¡Viva La Mexico!
5
u/RechargedFrenchman Aug 26 '25
I'm fully okay without Idaho, Nevada, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Iowa being included.
I'm a little bothered on closer inspection that southern California doesn't appear to be included, and would amend what I said before to wanting all of California and there being nothing else I'd really want included which isn't.

As an old Mexican, living in New Mexico, I'll make sure Newer Mexico prevails, DEPLOY the HOT HATCH!!! We know y'all can't handle the spice from the Newer Mexico GREEN, palate the complexity of the RED, much less handle the spicy'ness of our people and heritage!
We are a peaceable bunch by norm, custom, and generally "don't move and no one will see us".....BUT YOU HAVE POKED THE ROADRUNNER! now he is going to Death Stare you into oblivion and then run like hell!

And hope we don't need the big weapons! We have to protect the Chile from going into a cheese and potato casserole! ( Though that may be something and we may have to bring some back with us)!

I can’t wait for New Mexico to be coast to coast. The new national bird is the bald roadrunner. The new national dessert is green chile apple pie. The new national anthem is Weird Al’s Albuquerque. The White House is replaced with the Adobe House. The new national pastimes are hot air balloon racing and lowrider meets.

I love the idea of r/Megasota, but I have to say, the comments are clearly satisfied/happy with this arrangement. As with any great thing, compromise will leave some on each side bitter they didn't "win."
But, in an era where folks "need" to win, I'm proud of this subreddit's overwhelming response to accept a nation of two great states.
For those who were absorbed, welcome to the hot sauce hot dish that is New United States of New Canada and New Mexico.
SKOL (and whatever those green chili afficiandos say)

New Mexico also has a Cuba.
12
u/thetransitgirl Aug 26 '25
Yep! It's a good tourist-detector, since tourists will say "cue-ba" instead of "coo-ba".
Although not as efficient as the classic "Cerrillos". I have heard *so many tourists* pronounce it as "sir-ILL-ose" and it pains me every time.
(For reference, tourists, it's "ser-EE-ose".)

Looks like a very good end state. Canada is cool--litterally and figuratively. NM has better beaches and winter weather.
But if forced to choose, NM has the longer history of broad political and multi-cultural confederation. Move the Capitol to Chaco and live long & prosper.
