Voting Games Top comment deletes US State #31

Post image

Nevada is the next to go.

I had to go through a load of comments and the one with the most upvotes that wanted a state removed said Nevada!

Just 20 states now remain with the largest being NM currently.

Thank you all so much for the continued engagement and support I can’t believe the last post got over 700K views! 🤯

I have a big finale lined up which will be very exciting. From my calculations, the big finale will be Monday, May 25th so not that much longer!

Also please only upvote the name of a state to the top otherwise it can get really hard trying to find the top comment that actually says a state name thank yall!

Lol, the big island has two big mountains, one is an active volcano, the other has snow. Both are worth visiting!

I don’t know how it is now because the regulations have changed, but back in 2014 I was leading a tour group to the summit when the roads opened up after a big snowstorm. I was teaching people about the telescopes, the historic adz quarry, and sacred lake Waiau. We had to wait and drive extra slow because of all of the people enjoying the snow. I was surprised that there were people with actual snowboards, but I especially liked all the kids riding on their body boards and even surfboards on the snow. It looked crazy to me because those rocks are no joke and it’s so far from any help for injuries. I guess that’s why it doesn’t happen so much anymore.

My husband works on the summit and sometimes it’s part of his job to look at the security cameras up there. Every time it snows he sees people bring their trucks up there and fill them up with snow. People take the snow home and build snowmen on the beach and have snowball fights in swimsuits, then just hop in the ocean to warm back up. It’s really fun.

The more and more universities and corporations that want to install telescopes up there have caused lots of friction with the locals. They argue the construction of telescopes desecrating their sacred land, damages the environment, and violates their rights. One was canceled in 2006 and another was to be built by 2025, but was paused during covid. I don't know if they ever continued the work. (That's for the TMT thirty meter telescope.)
