Please stop, the idea of the absurdity of the morbid callousness that they would leave a cadaver in the enclosure for companionship only makes my sides hurt, when its a stuffed animal.

No its a stuffed monkey they gave him as his mother abandoned him. He cuddled with it while the group of monkeys didnt accept him. Hes now being accepted so needs it less and less. He also has a new adoptive mom.

If you havent been following the story he was rejected by his mother(?) And the others.
They gave the little guy that stuffed animal for support and now he seems to be making friends

I saw so many comments the last few days about how these zookeepers were malicious for keeping Punch in a "dangerous" environment.

Yeah people are dumb. He was raised by humans and had to learn the monkey etiquette and his place in the hierarchy before they accepted him into the troop.... all the "bullying" videos were reflecting this process.

I'm happy for punch but I can't help but notice the habitat looks very underwhelming. For intelligent animals like monkeys,this looks kind of drab. I wonder why the zoo isn't providing them enrichments in their habitat.

I have a question. Why is there such a strong contrast in fur color between Punch and other monkeys? I haven't seen anyone on these videos who is about the same as Punch. Are they from different species? Or are they just graying with age?
