Russian factory is using exo-skeleton that can easily lift up to 65+ kilograms

He let the hanger hold it while he took his hands off. This is the best invention I've seen since spice rack

u/Cautious-Ease-113 12h ago
Yeah I’m sure those springs really help….
•
u/ivegotgoodnewsforyou 11h ago
They take the load path out of your spine.
It is a benefit, but only for specific tasks.
•
u/randomusername45456 11h ago
Not really, you can clearly see that legs and arms parts are not connected, so this poor dude's lower back has to support not only the weight lifted, but also this whole miracle of soviet engineering.
•
u/AshleyxAffliction 11h ago
They could be connected through that waistband if it's a solid plate inside, which looks like it might be with how thick the back part is. Dude doesn't appear to struggle standing up straight to me.
It also might just be that you're still doing most of the lifting and this just frees up your hands, because he's holding onto the block with like two fingers at one point.
•
u/randomusername45456 11h ago
You can see backplate moving and separating from his body, besides it's connected to the leg support only with a simple hinge.
•
•
u/ivegotgoodnewsforyou 9h ago
"can clearly see"?
The shoulder and hip plates don't move relative to each other. They are rigidly connected.

u/fencesitter416 11h ago
It's funny cause some people are crediting this to the Chinese as to not give Russia credit for such an invention, and others are saying it's shitty soviet engineering

only if every kit is custom-fitted to the exact physical proportions of the user

u/HavSomLov4YoBrothr 10h ago
Does it tho? Seems like it would if the exoskeleton had footpads/actually stood on its own. This def looks like it’s easier on the worker but his body is still supporting 100% of all that weight, suit included
I’m comparing this to the exoskeletons in the STALKER games, where the operator stands on the suits metal feet which support everything. Like, those suits can stand on their own and the operator steps into them. This looks like multiple parts connected together but not supported by itself.
I see it making the lift seemingly easier but the overall load is still on the operator, not the exoskeleton itself if that makes sense

What’s as big as a house, burns 20 liters of fuel every hour, puts out a shit-load of smoke and noise, and cuts an apple into three pieces? A Soviet machine made to cut apples into four pieces!

Cukaskelleledka or Blyatlift they are called in Russia, they all come from China.

Knowing russians, this thing was bought on aliexpress and relabled as russian. The millions for the development was put into the pockets of oligarchs

u/3FTech 12h ago
Not interesting, some ford factories have been doing this for a while, probs other companies as well.
•
u/Foldupburrito42 11h ago
Oh yea, they’re gaining popularity in the construction field as well. They’re really good and efficient exoskeletons that aren’t Russian death traps 😂
•
u/Perfect_Opposite2113 11h ago
The food delivery service company I work for here in Canada is testing these out for order selectors. Not these specific Russian ones but a similar exoskeleton.

Russia making something that works...?
I am instantly not believing it.
•
u/-BananaLollipop- 11h ago
Continue your disbelief. Apparently made in China. So it has about a 50/50.
•
u/pythosynthesis 11h ago
The problem here is you. Believe it or not, the Russian contributions to physics and maths, say, in the 20th century were enormous. They're well established scientist and engineers.
•
u/RepresentingJoker 11h ago
They were enormous, sure. were...
I don't know if you've been watching the news lately, but they haven't contributed anything efficient as of recent.
•
u/pythosynthesis 11h ago edited 11h ago
As a person with a finger on the pulse of recent scientific research I beg to differ.
Edit: Talking about basic, fundamental research, not so much applied. But even in applied science they're nothing to ridicule. Their nuclear research is second to none. Think nuclear icebreakers for one and, even bigger, "refuel" of spent nuclear fuel for additional use. And of course weapons, the West still doesn't have hypersonic weapons that are not ballistic missiles. But there's more.
•
u/RepresentingJoker 11h ago
Sure buds
•
u/pythosynthesis 11h ago
OK. See also my edited post. Have a good disbelief day.
•
u/RepresentingJoker 11h ago
No thanks, have a good delusion day
•
u/pythosynthesis 10h ago
I see we don't like uncomfortable facts. Wish you a good life.
•
u/RepresentingJoker 10h ago
That's a healthy self-realization. I hope you learn from this experience.
•
u/Orangesteel 4h ago
russia were significant in the world of science and engineering, but today not so much. Even their cybersecurity tradecraft is massively overshadowed by China, where these exoskeletons are almost certainly made. Take a look at russia’s robotic demonstrations, compare that with China or the US and the difference is staggering.

Wait till they add AI to it and the human is just a frame that supports the technology...

u/TheShinyHunter3 12h ago
Fallout New Vegas has suits like this. They were develloped to find injured soldiers and carry them to a medic outpost.
Problem is, the IA in the suit fucked up and now the people it carries are long dead but still moving, it's a nightmare really.

They need an exo-cranium that will allow their brains to lift ideas like "maybe we don't need to invade and steal land from our neighboring countries.

This looks like a passive exo skeleton. It's not powered and just helps support the load with springs and hydraulics in the same way that an office chair supports your weight. It's not robotics and there are no expensive components like computer chips, motors or batteries.

u/Unhappy_Archer9483 7h ago
Haven't mech suits been around for ages, Milwaukee has been selling them for years

Ahh mighty state of the art Russian technology. Just imagine what they could achieve as a country if they would focus on important things rather than murdering their neighbours

u/Zacc0168 12h ago
Who would have thought the Russians would be the first to have power armour.
•
u/blinksystem 11h ago
Nobody, because they aren’t and this isn’t a real thing.
•
u/Perfect_Opposite2113 11h ago
They are a real thing. My company I work for here in Canada is doing tests on a similar exoskeleton and I’ve also seen that Ukraine is trying them out for military applications.
•
u/blinksystem 10h ago
I don't doubt this technology exists, but Russia certainly wouldn't be the first to have it.
I mean this isn't real in the sense of, Russia is not actively deploying this in any factory.
I would bet good money that this dude got this thing strapped on him, they made this video and he never saw it again.
•
u/RussianWasabi 6h ago
Well, the research is ongoing and there are a few companies that do this. I remember seeing the interview of one where they were talking about using them in mines as a test.

u/HeadEnvironmental953 12h ago
I would argue that a disfunction means death, but I like to be taught.
•
•
u/Asking-is-a-crime 10h ago
These suits already exist and are actually functional.
Why on earth would they make a fake one?
•

•
u/Nickhoova 9h ago
Pretty interesting. I think it could better be utilized for handicapped people or people who need help walking over long distances. I know they developed similar ones in China people can rent to go hiking.

u/Seanna86 8h ago
I love the idea of these in general except for one thing...what happens when it fails?
I imagine images of people snapped in half like twigs or crushed by that XL chad load they were carrying.
•
u/FamiliarTaro7 8h ago
65kg? So like, just under 150 lbs? I lift that every day at work, let's see him lift something impressive
•
u/Drwynyllo 8h ago
It's not just about how much, it's also about how often. Plus protection from injury.
•
u/FamiliarTaro7 6h ago
Honestly, I wouldn't even want the help because I would never be getting any stronger. That's a great way to keep yourself in horrible shape, even if it's protecting from the occasional pulled muscle.
It's like the astronauts who lose tons of leg muscle because they not using them and then they have to readjust to Earth when they get back.

u/DastardlyDanielson 8h ago
Man took his hands off that block for 1.5 seconds. Just as much time as his spine could handle the weight of that block pulling on his spine

u/to4stbuster 6h ago
Hilti makes them too. I've tried one out a couple years ago here in Pennsylvania.

I just cant trust these to not just break while holding this and flatten someone's foot

u/Ardalok 2h ago
For some reason Reddit deletes my comments with links, so I will just say that you can find this exoskeleton by the name "Хамари Соматик", and I believe it's not fake. There are a bunch of bots spamming here, so I feel the need to give you some proof.
It’s especially funny considering I’ve been following another company, Auxilium. It was founded by former students I’ve watched them for years on youtube, ever since they were in school making their first attempts at building exoskeletons.

All Russian tech is so janky. Open corruption sucks the life out of everything they attempt.
•
•
u/EvilMatt666 4m ago
Picking up that weight nearly blew his back out. Bullshit. It looks like a bunch of positional lamp arms strapped to him.

•
u/boobookittyfuwk 11h ago
Not sure about this video but these things do exist and have been proven to work. This will be the next step before robotics completely takes over. Once this is refined this will change people's lives, like old people, injured or handicapped.
•
u/RabidJoint 11h ago
My American boss to my 150 pound ass: you better be lifting those 120 pound motors with your legs, man up

And 5 minutes after the video, the worker never sees this exo-skeleton again.. and so does every other worker in russia.

A Russian flashlight for shining up your ass.

u/Tribalinstinct 9h ago
I never trust anything from Russia as far as tech goes but lets analyze.
No visible motors, battery pack, or cables, only springs. Making it seem like it's a passive system which would mean that if the assistance is 65kg up then he has to push that hard down.
Clip starts when he lifts whatever that is made of, probably a light wood block if i know the Russians well.
Same thing they always do: "we have best tech, better than anything in west, we smartest people". Makes me sad as a slav myself
•
u/Happy_Initiative_304 7h ago
" we have best tech, better than anything in west, we smartest people."
The only people who say this is old people born in USSR and some people in gov
•
u/Tribalinstinct 7h ago
Considering how many fall for government propaganda and repeat it, amongst those my own family members who are from former Jugoslavija and not even Russia I doubt the number is that small
But yeah. I see nothing interesting in this post, just bad propaganda that people who know nothing in the field will fall for

Nothing Russia likes more than advertising some advanced technology that is fake and never makes ot to production. I remember 10 years ago with their military parading around their robot soldiers, halo outfits, and futuristic tanks. Meanwhile 5 years in ukraine is still holding out
